This actually happens quite often whenever the Kaspers go over for a visit to the Ström estate in Sweden. Papa Ström and Papa Kasper constantly fight each other to prove their worth, which scares off the four Ström nephews/cousins but infuriates Freyja (Cedrick, on the other hand, has fun watching his father and grandfather throw kicks and punches at each other). - Erik Ström never liked Johannes Faustuz ever since he first met him as a boy. He claims it’s because of the Kasper’s “diabolical” family history, low social class, and “impure” bloodline, but in reality, Papa Ström just doesn’t want to give his daughter to a man who is more capable than he is when it comes to killing rouge creatures. Erik also has some disappointment with his son-in-law choosing a career in the medical field instead of working for him at Ström Corporations. But one thing he does appreciate is that Faustuz is a man who willingly goes through Hell for the sake of family and friends. - Faustuz at first was frightened of Erik since he was obviously much bigger and was Freyja’s overprotective father. But as the years pass by, he looses respect for the older man as he increasingly becomes much taller and stronger. Faustuz also uses his brain to study up and train in the Kaspers’ secret business of cryptozoology, making it harder for Erik to ignore him whenever he needs assistance with his occult weaponry. After rescuing Freyja from an arranged marriage to a Bluebeard in disguise, and again saving her when she was pregnant with their son from a hungry Aswang, Faustuz finally had proven himself as a permanent asset to the Ström family. He appreciates his father-in-law’s old-school methods and unconditional love for Freyja and Cedrick, but he’ll never accept him as a role model as much as he does for Onkel Heinrich. ——
