Filling the kiddie pool
Johannes Faustuz was filling up a kiddie pool when Garappa started having labor pains. He’s calling out for his older cousin Hansel because he is a nurse; even though he’s a doctor, Faustuz needs some assistance in dealing with this situation. Egg laying for Garappas is extremely painful and risky considering how large the egg is compared to body size (think of a Kiwi bird). A Garappa will remain with her egg until it hatches; she will have to rely on her mate for food and comfort for the next few days. This is also a vulnerable time since she’ll be weak from egg laying and incubation, not be able to eat to regain her strength. —
