Kinda Page 8? There should technically be another page or two before this, but I’ve been wanting to draw Cedrick on the Kasper Family’s errand bike for a while.😛 I should really rewind a bit and get back to the Chickcarney and Queenie now... - Cedrick was called from the Kaspers’ home located elsewhere around Los Angeles, not too far away from the Williamses (about 5-10 miles). Of the Kaspers’ three bikes, it’s the pink one that has the hardware needed for shopping and transporting goods (the other two are for biking trails). Both Hr. Dr. Kasper and Cedrick try to avoid the pink bike for obvious reasons (they get snickers and second looks from passerby’s), but with Freyja being the only female in the family and in charge of the family resources, they quickly swallow their pride for the sake of getting errands done. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #boy #bicycle #pinkbike #comic #animestyle #ipaddrawing

Wunderkind’s Notes 2: The Caribbean Pine Cedrick’s notes about the type of tree the Chickcarney dwells in. As a creature tied to the spiritual world, it’s very vulnerable when exposed to the human world - thus why it seeks out anything it’s familiar and associated with (ie. Asia and Queenie’s Caribbean ancestry). — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #caribbeanpine #pinetree #notes #black #white #blackandwhite

Don’t worry - I’ll be back on the Chickcarney project soon enough ... November 1981: Aina, Sigrid, and Richard on their way back from the grocery store. Richard is wearing his grey wolf fur coat while Sigrid is looking a lot rounder this time, and it’s not only because of her constant consumption of ice cream cones. Aina is Sigrid’s mother, known as “The Witch of Copenhagen” due to her exotic flowers, extensive collection of herbal medicine and potions, eccentric behavior, and striking appearance (she’s albino). Aina and Sigrid are very close, though Aina can get a bit nosy and often teases Sigrid whenever she’s trying to process something new; despite that, Aina is very supportive of her daughter and tries her best to get Sigrid out of her shell and experience the World - especially with a life curse placed on her by her own father cutting her life down to less than twenty years to live. It was Aina who encouraged both Richard and Sigrid to get together despite what society had to say (Richard is almost 8 years older than Sigrid, raising a lot of eyebrows seeing a teenage girl with an older man); she could tell Richard was tired living life as a traveling playboy while her daughter Sigrid needed someone experienced to guide her and push her to live to the fullest. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #mother #daughter #husband #woman #man #couple #family #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart

Character Sheet 2 - The Kasper Family: Freyja Ström, Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper, and Cedrick Kasper. A little foreshadowing of what’s to come rests in Cedrick’s hands. - All three are quite tall, but considering their Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German, and Dutch ancestry, it’s really not a surprise (all the mentioned nationalities are known for being much taller than average). Freyja looks short in comparison with her husband Hr. Dr. Kasper, but at 5’7”/170cm (5’9”/175cm in heels 👠), she’s actually a little bit taller than the average American woman (about 5’4”/163cm). Despite that, she’s labeled a “Petite Model” in the fashion industry, which she takes extreme offense (she doesn’t believe in so-called “height standards” for models, which is why she tries to have various types of people featured in her TV show). Cedrick at 14-15 years old is actually quite tall for his age (6’0”/182cm), quickly catching up with his father standing at 6’5”/195cm. Asia always asks “WTF are you feeding this boy?!” every time she see him because he seems to grow an inch or so (she doesn’t see him as often as Tyrone or Tricia so she notices his rapid growth). Johannes Faustuz wasn’t always the tall man he is today. As a boy he was actually much smaller than his peers; because of this (and the fact he was mainly raised by his Japanese aunt Yoko), he was picked on equally by both boys and girls. He constantly got into violent fights defending himself, getting suspended from school and ended up spending most of his early childhood reading books at the library where Tante Yoko worked (it was also there he first met Freyja visiting as an exchange student from Sweden, and ever since the two had been inseparable). It wasn’t until when Faustuz was about age 13 he started growing up like a Great Dane, quickly surpassing the other teen boys in height by age 15, and kept growing up until he was 21. Nowadays hardly anyone messes with the Herr Doktor, knowing doing so would result in serious consequences. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #boy #originalcharacter #characterart #characterdesign #black #white #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #autodesksketchbook

Page 6 - Chickcarneys live in pine trees. California had a lot of wildfires lately with most of the trees burned being pine trees; a lot of trees had also been cut down and removed either as preventative measures or other reasons (ie. Landscaping, Construction, Etc.). The Williams Family live in a suburb near Los Angeles, leading to the latter - the poor Chickcarney most likely lost his home due to tree removal. — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #woman #girl #child #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #black #white #blackandwhite #halftone #femalecharacter #chickcharney #mangastyle #animestyle

Page 5 - The Mamas taking a selfie. So how did Asia Williams become a big fan of Freyja Ström? Asia has been following Freyja since her teen modeling days, admiring the fact that Freyja has unique features: bright strawberry-blonde hair, freckles, a strong Swedish accent, and not being as tall as an usual supermodel (she’s considered a “Petite Model” at 5’7”/170cm); also, Freyja is a fellow working mother. Because of her “lack of height”, Freyja had been sidelined often from major shows - so much that she got frustrated and went in hiatus working at her family’s business for almost a decade until a British producer needed a model to host his new TV fashion show; Asia was beyond ecstatic with the news of a TV show featuring her favorite teen supermodel returning to the fashion world, and has been watching her show religiously for five years while wishing to be a contestant. — #femalecharacter #women #woman #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #halftone #black #white #blackandwhite #digitalart #digitaldrawing #comic #selfie

Page 4 - The Mamas officially meet! Asia is a super fan of Freyja’s TV show “FLASH FASHION”, always wanting to be a contestant in a challenge. The Pandemic put a halt to that idea, but Freyja hasn’t forgotten her husband mentioning about a fan who happens to be his friend’s wife. Freyja is also curious about the Chickcarney, and Freyja has a soft spot for creatures - especially fluffy ones. — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #woman #girl #child #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #femalecharacter #malecharacter #mangastyle #animestyle

Cedrick’s notes on the “Chickcarney” (also spelled #chickcarnie and #chickcarnee). “ The (Andros) Chickcarney: An owl-cat-like creature from the Andros region of the Bahamas that dwells in pine trees. Usually harmless, they are viewed as good luck to travelers. If treated poorly, a Chickcarney will place a curse on the entire family. “ — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #notes #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #bahamas #mythicalcreature #chickcarney

Character Sheet 1: Tyrone, Asia, Queenie, and Johannes Faustuz. - Tyrone and Johannes Faustuz were practically “Work Spouses” prior to the Pandemic, always around to help out and keep each other company during long shifts. Since the Pandemic, Faustuz has been furloughed with elective surgeries constantly put on hold and his oncology ward converted into extra beds, making it difficult to keep in touch with Tyrone on his off days. Asia and Johannes Faustuz always had a complicated relationship, even though recently they’ve been slowly getting along since Asia finding out her idol Freyja was his wife. Since the Pandemic, Asia’s jealousy has calmed down significantly, so much that she actually misses snapping at him; so when Faustuz does make a brief visit to drop off extra medical supplies for Tyrone, Asia pretends to be mad at him for old-time’s sake. Queenie adores Johannes Faustuz as her “Uncle”, always eager to see him whenever he’s around. In pre-Pandemic days when Tyrone brought her to work at the hospital, Queenie would always sneak in Hr. Dr. Kasper’s office to look at all the strange stuff on his shelves, listen to him tell scary German fairy tales, and take advantage of the unusual European snacks in his fridge (her favorite is Baumkuchen; her least favorite is salted black licorice). Lots of times Faustuz has to step in the role of third parent/teacher in dealing with his friend’s daughter, whether it’s for show-and-tell in Preschool or keeping a close eye on her while Tyrone is working; with the pandemic ongoing, he’s often available on Zoom after teaching Tricia Biology 101 keeping Queenie’s curiosity in check. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #girl #child #originalcharacter #characterart #characterdesign #black #white #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #autodesksketchbook

Page 3 - Asia usually doesn’t want to do anything with Hr. Dr. Kasper (she still holds a grudge against him for spending more time with Tyrone than she gets with him pre-pandemic days; she’s also not amused with Faustuz having “a very questionable background”), but because Queenie thinks of him as an uncle, she’s reaching out to him. Lucky for her, the Kaspers happen to be well versed with Cryptozoology and mythical creatures. Tyrone thinks it’s manageable to own a pet, especially one without fur, but Asia isn’t taking chances with their niece Tricia allergic to animals. — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #femalecharacter #malecharacter #chickcharney #mangast@

Page 2 - Looks like Tyrone needs to wear glasses again, lol. He wore them when he was little, but quit wearing glasses around Intermediate School because he wanted to look like a “cool, tough guy” (his BFF Hr. Dr. Kasper would not approve of this mindset nor does he reflect this idea; Hans will kick ass while wearing an outdated pair of wire-framed aviators) — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #wife #husband #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #blackandwhite #black #white #halftone #femalecharacter #malecharacter #chickcharney #mangastyle #animestyle

I thought I was done drawing this guy outfits! 😫 I’m sorry for not posting as much/as often due to burnout and feeling like a mindless zombie after work. I’m trying to start another short story with my OCs, but it’s so hard to get going and focused with a brain that’s turning into mush in this stressful environment called America (I live in California where it’s not skyrocketing cases, but even so, I feel like people aren’t taking things seriously with the pandemic). — There’s a reason why Johannes Faustuz doesn’t like growing out a beard, but there’s times it can’t be helped. When he has one, he strongly resembles a certain someone who he doesn’t like and doesn’t like him in return (it’s actually how he got his Instagram username 🧔🏼). Many assume he’s “Hr./Mr. Ström” being Freyja’s elusive husband, but that title belongs to Freyja’s father Erik; because of people’s quick assumptions about him, the Ström Family gave him the pseudonym “Jonah Fritz Ström” to use in public and media events while he uses his own name when practicing medicine or teaching (and not looking as glamorous in what Freyja dresses him up with). —— #malecharacter #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #fashion #outfit #man #stripes #longhair

Queenie has always been a handful; put her in a room full of knick knacks or with a bunch of creatures, it’ll be harder to get a hold of her. - More info about the creature is yet to come. — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #mother #daughter #child #girl #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #black #white #blackandwhite #halftone #femalecharacter #chickcharney #mangastyle #animestyle

Quick drawing of Cedrick Kasper and Tricia Williams wearing Gucci inspired attire. - A lot of people have assumed they’re a couple because they hang out a lot, but it’s not so. Tricia is almost five years older and just started attending university, while Cedrick is a Wunderkind doctor who’s the age of a high school freshman. Tricia isn’t very fond of Mathematics and Science (she’s a big fan of Sports, particularly volleyball), so she hasn’t been doing well with Biology 101 or College Algebra. No thanks to her uncle Tyrone, word quickly spread of her need to keep her grades up or else she looses her sporting scholarship; as a colleague to both Tyrone and Prof. DeValeur, Hr. Dr. Kasper suggested that Tricia could be tutored by his son Cedrick since he’s close to her age. Since then, the two consistently meet up over cups of boba tea at the local cafe (nowadays on Zoom or FaceTime with a pandemic going on). Tricia likes picking on Cedrick just to give him a hard time, but does appreciate his efforts to help her maintain her grades. Also, Cedrick is the son of supermodel Freyja Ström - he got to have some strong opinions about fashion when it’s time to shop at the mall (so her unproven theory goes). — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #boy #girl #teenagers #autodesksketchbook #ipaddrawing #digitalart #digitaldrawing #fashion

Idk if I’m getting better or worse with my art, lol. I know for sure that I’m getting really tired and lazy, and work has been taking a toll on me (I got mask-ne, hair loss, lack of sleep, and I’m suspecting that I’ve been grinding my teeth while I’m sleeping; I ordered mouth-guards and a twin-sized weighted blanket to hopefully help me cope with my stress). The background is based off the photo of Starbucks in the last slide (found it online via Pinterest, not mine). Both father’s and son’s outfits are based off of real ones (also included in slides). The Kaspers currently live in Los Angeles since they can’t go back to either Kiel or Stockholm due to European travel bans. Even though they can’t go far from their house, California has a lot to offer to do while quarantining. One of their favorite things to do is just walk around for hours to see the sights and enjoy whatever food is available (otherwise, they stay home fighting over TV and video games whenever Papa Kasper isn’t teaching on Zoom). — #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #malecharacter #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #lineart #ipaddrawing #coffeeshop #starbucks #sweater #facemask #lights #fatherandson #boy #man

Day 29: Full Doctor’s Attire 1 •Lab Coat •Collared Shirt •Tie •Glasses •Slacks •Loafers •Etc. - Hr. Dr. Kasper’s usual attire at work during appointments with patients and when visiting the nearby university for academic chats with Prof. Vinnie DeValeur. Johannes Faustuz is most comfortable wearing this kind of outfit aside from scrubs, but will set it aside if his wife Freyja has something else in mind (which is usually whenever she’s home from work abroad). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #doctor #outfitoftheday #digitalink

Day 28: Scrubs 2 - Green - Hr. Dr. Kasper usually wore green scrubs when he had a surgery scheduled for the day (black scrubs indicated he had been assigned triage at the ER). Wearing either black or green scrubs, he always adds in a pair of decent running shoes just in case there’s an emergency that needs an extra set of hands to stitch things up. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #doctor #scrubs #outfitoftheday #digitalink

Sigrid’s very frilly and girly princess pink bedroom, located upstairs directly above the flower shop. - Sigrid doesn’t always like showing off her feminine side, often making herself prickly like a porcupine to keep people away (aside from her mother Aina). But it hasn’t deterred a foreign suitor from visiting the flower shop to woo her with random gifts of letters, cards, boxes of chocolates and cookies, bottles of Chanel No. 5, and Tiffany jewelry. At first, Sigrid didn’t want to do anything with Richard and his gifts, but after he fell seriously ill with lovesickness, she felt guilty; she finally let him in her heart as he recovered in her room for a night. Until her death, Sigrid would wake up with a random gift left behind by Richard on her bed; of all the gifts, her favorite was a custom engagement ring Richard had made for her with a raw pink South African diamond in the center. — #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #femalecharacter #originalcharacter #bedroom #bed #pink

Day 27: Scrubs 1 - Black - Hr. Dr. Kasper mostly wore black scrubs, sometimes with a white lab coat on top, when he worked at the hospital for triage; with this attire combined with his uncanny ability to predict a person’s lifespan, Hr. Dr. Kasper was given the nickname “The White Reaper” by coworkers. Even though he really is a Grim Reaper, Johannes Faustuz prefers saving lives with his surgical skills and lab experiments. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #doctor #scrubs #outfitoftheday #digitalink

Day 26: Child 2 - 1990s •Sweater •Jeans •White Sneakers •Ball Cap - Johannes Faustuz was a child in the 1990s, an amazing time to be a kid when it comes to toys, technology, and culture. Now pushing towards 40, Hr. Dr. Kasper still loves playing SUPER MARIO, ZELDA, TETRIS, and POKÉMON on his original GameBoy on his spare time - assuming his son Cedrick hasn’t gotten hold of it first. He also still has a Tamagotchi, a Furby, a stack of binders full of Digimon and Pokémon cards, and plays DDR with his wife Freyja. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #boy #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #outfitoftheday #digitalink
