“The Dog House” is practically an indoor patio linked to the backyard, making it easy for the pets to run around freely and for the humans enjoy the outdoors while being inside. It gets its name because it’s where Freud the Dachshund stays to keep out of trouble (he loves digging up Freyja’s garden and chasing Klimt the Weegie and other creatures that take refuge in the Kasper residence). It’s a place where the pets eat, sleep, and play, extra plants grow, and where Hr. Dr. Kasper sleeps whenever he’s in trouble with his wife or wants to stay away from his son and father-in-law (also where he stayed for two weeks after being furloughed from work... and it looking like he might be working again, but as an online professor this time around). Johannes Faustuz finds peace amongst the plants and animals as he reads books, magazines, and whatever periodicals are lying around; it’s also the only connection he has with his mother Sigrid since she loved plants while working in her mother’s flower shop in Copenhagen (she died soon after he was born). If it gets too quiet, Faustuz will play tape cassettes of his mother reading children’s books like “Peter Rabbit” in Danish (which he still struggles speaking with his grandmother Aina; Kaspers are Danish in ancestry, but living in Jutland for centuries makes them German, so when they actually try speaking Danish, it’s with a heavy accent and bad grammar). He also has recorded tapes of his father Richard, but Faustuz doesn’t seem to be interested listening to a man who was known as a playboy in his younger years. ——— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #lineart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #cat #plants #window #room #mangastyle #animestyle #halftone #frauv8_ocs

Looks like Sigrid was caught eying Richard from her mother’s flower shop... - It seems like these two had been becoming more popular according to stats. Maybe because it’s the fact they’re from 1980 (aesthetics of the 1970s-90s are in), look cute together as a couple (though in today’s standards Richard most likely wouldn’t be allowed to date Sigrid since he’s 23 and she’s 16), or that their story is very romantic but also a sad one (they both die within a year from each other, leaving their son behind to be raised by his extended family). Maybe it’s all three? Either way, I try my best to mix things up. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #couple #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #girl #flowers #plants #window #glasses #animestyle #frauv8_ocs

I think my eyes hurt from staring at this guy for too long...😭 Doesn’t help that I also stay up past Midnight for multiple nights.😫 - Besides looking all pretty in pink, Hr. Dr. Kasper has plenty of pour-over coffee and traditional sweets for himself on the side: Baumkuchen, Prinsesstårten, and Strudel. Both Johannes Faustuz and Cedrick have “Odin’s Eye” which requires a lot of energy to maintain, so often father and son will fight over snacks and caffeine when they’re available. Most of the time Papa Kasper gives up for the sake of his son’s needs over his (as any parent would do, plus Cedrick is quickly catching up with him on size as a teenager), making him at high risk of being an easily irritable hangry monster around other people (he’s not called “Hot-Headed Hans” for no reason). — These kind of pics take a LONG time to make - even longer if I put more painful effort of shading and lighting. Part of the time it’s gathering references, other times it’s picking and playing with color schemes (that’s why there’s a bonus cyan blue version here), but it’s mostly the drawing and coloring process that takes so long (especially the drawing when there’s tiny details). - One of them days this old millennial here have to play with REELS using video versions of my pics just for funzies (because why not 😛). Experimenting can be messy, but it’ll be a learning process. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #manbun #glasses #suit #coffeemug #stool #plant #coffeetable #prinsesstårta #baumkuchen #strudel #pink #green #blue #yellow #frauv8_ocs

Aww... Johannes Faustuz is really trying to be nice. But Erik doesn’t trust him. - Hr. Dr. Kasper and Hr. Ström HATE each other. They’re very competitive when it comes to being Freyja’s No. 1 man and head of the household. It also doesn’t help that the Ström Family think the Kaspers are “low-class quacks”, “scheming tricksters”, “filthy exterminators”, and so on (Kaspers are also known for working with the evilest leaders of Europe for money). But it’s all about making Freyja happy, so they’re willing to tolerate each other for her sake. And for the record, Freyja’s No. 1 man is actually her son Cedrick - she can’t stop doting and spoiling him to the point he avoids being around her (it’s rare seeing the two of them alone together). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #family #men #soninlaw #fatherinlaw #blackandwhite #halftone #frauv8_ocs

Quick #charactersheet of Officer Rodriguez and Hr. Dr. Kasper. Hopefully my cursive is readable (I’ll write it all down in separate comments below). Slide 2 is an old pic from May 2018. — How did these two first characters meet? Granger was actually on patrol duty when Johannes Faustuz was out chasing after lost souls late at night. Initially she thought he was a mentally ill person on the loose, so she tackled him, handcuffed him, and stuffed him into the back of her tiny car. It wasn’t until she saw the glowing odd-colored eyes Granger realized she not only caught a Grim Reaper like herself, but a rare monster slayer of legends; she felt even more ashamed when she found out he’s also a doctor from her local hospital. Poor Faustuz had to be picked up by his father-in-law after Granger released him (you can imagine what that conversation was like when they hate each other); it’s also why whenever he hears police sirens nearby on the street, he gets panic attacks, afraid he’d be tackled, shoved into a tiny space, and taken away to an unknown location (pretty relevant right now for lots of people...😑) - Since then, their paths cross often since they both live/work in the Los Angeles area; occasionally they collaborate, but Granger doesn’t like newcomers encroaching on her home turf (she hasn’t met Cedrick yet, so...) Granger also refers to the Herr Doktor as “Juanito”, which he absolutely hates (“Juanito” is like saying “Johnny Boy” - it’s a nickname of endearment; “Johannes” is an original version of “John”, which is “Juan” in Spanish, so it’s actually an accurate nickname for him). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #characterdesign #malecharacter #femalecharacter #frauv8_ocs

Everyone is constantly looking through windows to see if it’s safe to go outside - or if their orders from Amazon has arrived yet. — Papa Kasper is still furloughed, just waiting to get back to work once he gets the green light to operate again. Even how he dresses has become more like pajamas since he no longer goes outside for meetings, lectures, consultations, anything that requires wearing a tie. Freyja loves the fact that this is the longest he’s ever been home from “normal” work, Cedrick is worried about his father feeling useless when his ward had been overtaken by COVID-19 beds (why he’s furloughed), and Grandpa is not very happy being forced to have daily “quarantine talks” with his son-in-law. The only thing that stays the same is that all the creatures (mythical critters and pets) living in the house still beg for their food, get daily walks or play sessions, and love him unconditionally. - And much to his dismay, Death has been knocking on the Kaspers’ door more often with a long list of lost souls and spirits to collect. Luckily he has Cedrick to help him out this time, and in rare occasion they’ll encounter Officer Granger Rodriguez, another local Grim Reaper (I’ve drawn her before, but it’s been a long time since; I should make a character sheet about her with Hr. Dr. Kasper). ————— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #stripes #glasses #watch #manbun #blackandwhite #mangastyle #halftone #frauv8_ocs

#dtiys_frauv8 Might as well make it another #dtiyschallenge because why not. Nobody wants to do any challenges I make anyway.😛 - I hadn’t been posting much due to work trying to make up for lost time; I’m there from about 10:30am to 7:30pm 3-4 times a week, so I’m pretty much wiped out at the end of a day. I work for TV/Simulcast (I’m a Graphics Operator; basically I make those things on the screen that displays names, prices, results, etc.), so I’m considered “Essential”. You can say I’m keeping people entertained while they stay safe and quarantine at home, lol. It’s not a job I can work remotely, so... yeah... I’m doing my best being safe with lots of sanitizer and wearing my mask (a face shield might not be a bad idea since I work in a small space). So I really mean it when I say “Stay home”, “Wear a mask”, and “Be nice to essential workers” - I want people to be safe, healthy, and we don’t need anymore “Karens” and “Chads” in the world making it harder for those providing services during this pandemic. ——— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #mangastyle #originalcharacters #characterart #dtiys #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #man #woman #fashion #halftone #black #white #grey #gray #blackandwhite #manbun #glasses #longhair #frauv8_ocs

#dtiys_frauv8 ➡️(SLIDE 2) #colorthisinyourstyle_fv8 ➡️(SLIDE 3) - Pick your quarantine challenge.🦠 No deadlines - just have fun!😊 Entries will be featured as a Story/Highlight (if anything comes in 🙏🏻). — Can’t say Cedrick has pretty baby blues when he’s only got one blue eye. But Heterochromia is pretty if you get to see it. (SIDE NOTE: I love odd-eyes, especially cats with them. Supposedly they’re considered good luck because they’re rare - and I’ve actually seen two in person. In Turkish lore, the amber eye represents Earth while the blue is for Heaven. I’d love to own my own odd-eye kitty if I can; naming it Kasper would be fitting, but Yuki, Yuri, Sushi, or Mochi are cute cat names too) - •CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Heterochromia runs strong in the Kasper Family, especially for males who inherit blue eye genes - and it’s even more likely if he’s blond. Amongst families involved with mythical creatures and the occult, it’s called “Odin’s Eye” because it allows a Kasper to see a variety of information such as monster’s vitals, wandering spirits, and how long a person has left to live. According to family lore, a Danish Viking boy named Ulrik Kasper drank water from Mimir’s Well - the mythical location where Odin threw his eye in during his quest for infinite knowledge. After suffering excruciating pain and temporary blindness in his right eye after drinking the water, Ulrik was able to see many unseen creatures and knowledge. Ever since, only direct male descendants of Ulrik Kasper who are blue-eyed and blond inherit “Odin’s Eye”. — It’s another blinking animation since it’s the easiest one to make. But it’s still a bit of work to draw and time just right so it looks more natural (I still yet have to animate the perfect blink). This color scheme is also a favorite of mine (I love bright colors paired with black, if it’s not straight black and white). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #animation #malecharacter #teenboy #bowlcut #heterochromia #oddeyes #green #yellow #black #pink #frauv8_ocs

Rewinding back to July 1981 with Sigrid and Richard. No matter how much he turns on the charm, there’s no way in Hell she’s sharing her ice cream when baby cravings hit. - Both Richard and Sigrid wear aviators/glasses, which their son Johannes Faustuz also does. Sigrid is also wearing a green polka dot dress similar to what Princess Diana wore in the 1980s. Richard is wearing a T-shirt with a sailboat and “KIEL” on it, a nod to where the Kaspers come from and where usually in the end of June/early July a large gathering of boats occurs.⛵️ *** Once again, I’m hunkered down. Work has been canceled until the 24th due to a number of people who tested positive for COVID-19. As far as I know, I haven’t been exposed to anyone sick, but with those who tested positive at work being asymptomatic really makes me nervous. And of course I won’t qualify for a test because I don’t have the classic COVID-19 symptoms or had contact with any with symptoms (my allergies, on the other hand, have been driving me crazy).
