When I had the chance to walk around outside the other day, I noticed another invasion of organisms floating in the air: BUTTERFLIES! And “Schmetterling” happens to be my all-time foreign word - which happens to translate to “Butterfly” from German (“Papillon”, French for “Butterfly”, is also cute). These migrating butterflies look like Monarchs (which they probably are), but another possibility is the Painted Lady (they’re also orange, but not as cute). So I ended up drawing this. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #lineart #femalecharacter #woman #redhair #redhead #sittingpretty #butterflies #monarch #monarchbutterfly #monarchbutterflies #orange #frauv8_ocs

Tyrone and Kimiko on lunch break with Johannes Faustuz. (when there’s no virus) — If Tyrone’s wife Asia finds out he got hold of a beef burger, she’s going to be uber pissed (Asia is vegan, and she usually delivers her homemade lunches for him); he snags his burgers from Hr. Dr. Kasper whenever he treats his colleagues with the best burgers and shakes in SoCal (Faustuz normally has packed bento boxes, sandwiches, and juice boxes in his office refrigerator). - Kimiko usually settles with a bowl of ramen from the vending machine and bottle of tea; if she’s ambitious, Kimiko would have made her own sushi rolls for lunch. For fun, she likes to compare her bento boxes with Faustuz’s (he was raised by a Japanese aunt). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #malecharacter #man #doctor #femalecharacter #woman #nurse #frauv8_ocs

A another quick pic of this guy - again. It’s always a debate every time I draw Johannes Faustuz: Hair up? Hair down? — Normally it would be up for safety and practical reasons at work, but if Papa Kasper is taking a break or isn’t at work, his hair is let loose and untied. Either way, he’s always busy with something - often with a cup of coffee in hand. - So why exactly does he have such long hair? Well, Faustuz did had shorter hair as a child and teenager; but after having Cedrick and becoming a junior doctor, he has less time to take care of himself and gave up on haircuts (except for occasional donations for cancer patients). Once Freyja noticed her husband’s locks was getting long, she was ecstatic to style his hair - starting with braids and the “Man Bun”. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #malecharacter #man #doctor #frauv8_ocs

Frl. Flicka and Cedrick seem to be getting along lately. Normally she ties Cedrick up in knots with her leash before morning walks, or chases him out of the bathroom while he’s taking a shower; for whatever reason, Frl. Flicka likes picking on Cedrick since the Kaspers adopted her. But with Papa Kasper busy at the hospital, Frl. Flicka has lessened her mischievous behaviors to ensure that she gets more treats and praise whenever her favorite master gets back home. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #teenageboy #dog #doberman #blackandwhite #mangastyle #halftone #frauv8_ocs

Freyja and Johannes Faustuz being all cute and snuggly together with a Hygge atmosphere, despite the gloomy nature of the world these days. It’s near impossible for these two to practice social distancing when they’re together at home or alone someplace private; but most wouldn’t know they’re a couple due to their cold mechanical professionalism standing far apart while being out and about normally (many assume they’re either distant relatives or siblings, thus why Faustuz gets called “Mr. Jonah Fritz Ström”). - I included the #lineart in the last slide for anyone to color in. Millions of us are glued to our phones for various reasons, whether it’s a viral video or a virus destroying life as we know it. Regardless of whether they’re good or bad, smart phones are essential in today’s world; they are mobile computers, a way of communicating and connecting with everyone, a means of news and literature. In the extreme end, it’s a means of comfort and addiction for many to escape the harsh reality of the world despite the cost of sleep, sanity, and curtesy. — Johannes Faustuz rarely has time to be on his phone. But when he gets a chance to check it, it’s often a video message from his wife Freyja encouraging him to keep up with his work, or his son Cedrick sending him a sarcastic meme/GIF/video to cheer him up. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #pixaloop #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #smartphone #smartphoneglow #frauv8_ocs

Happy 1st Day of Spring 2020!🚑🦠😷 Not the best time to have allergies like poor Cedrick (and myself) when COVID-19 is rampant. My allergies kick off after the rain stops and flowers start feeling love from the sun. 🌧🤧🌸🌼🌞 Now any cough and sneeze makes everyone look at you like 🤬. Only three months into 2020, 25% of the year, and it already feels like an eternity; not what we had in mind for the future. Social Distancing has not been easy, and it’s been hard for many couples and families around the world - especially for those who can’t be together due to work, travel bans, and quarantine. But when it’s all over, it’s going to be a happy time with everyone able to hug and kiss each other - maybe. — The Kaspers are all separated: Freyja is stuck in Sweden with her father Erik and four cousins, Johannes Faustuz is doing his best to help out at the hospital, Cedrick is at home taking care of the pets, garden, and creatures staying over (Tyrone’s family, the Williamses, on the other hand, are all huddled together stuck watching “Frozen” and “Frozen II” a million times non-stop❄️I’ll have to draw poor Tricia with Queenie sometime). - Freyja wants to be with her husband and son after being away helping her father for over a month, but it might be another month or so before she can get back with her family - assuming that she doesn’t get sick. - Faustuz misses holding his wife in his arms while sleeping, but now that she can’t come home, he spends more time working at the hospital; that puts him at risk spreading the virus, so he stays in his personal dorm/office and waits around until he gets called upon request. - Cedrick is upset that he can’t help his father, but not being an adult and being the only one left to watch the house and menagerie of creatures, he understands that he’s got a lot of responsibilities for a kid; he doesn’t want to admit it, but he also misses his mother. ——— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #comic #mangastyle #characters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #mother #son #father #halftone #black #white #frauv8_ocs #socialdistancing

Stuck inside the house like millions (if not billions) of people around the world. At least there’s internet, lol. It’s not fun being locked in like if we’re all in quarantine, but it’s for the sake of our health and others who are more vulnerable (people over 50, immune issues, etc.). It’s down to 10 people per group now in the USA (5 in other countries), bars and theaters are closed, take-out/drive-thru only for restaurants, pharmacies/grocery stores open for limited hours, and other essential services are open. 2020 has been a roller coaster ride for the first quarter of the year. - Feel free to color in the line art in the 3rd slide, and tag me for credit and so I can see your work: @frauv8 #colorthisinyourstyle_fv8 — Cedrick here is quite the gamer when he’s not bogged down with his studies and work at the hospital. But in this case, he’s playing against his father Hr. Dr. Kasper who’s staying at the hospital to help out with the health crisis; Cedrick was sent home because he’s not an adult (he’s only 14-15). He’s also the only one who can take care of the house and pets while his poor mother Freyja is stuck in Sweden with her father and cousins due to the travel ban. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #teenager #teenageboy #teenboy #pet #dog #playingvideogames #indoors #nighttime #stayathome #frauv8_ocs

Voting Results From Story 🗳: Down — It’s unofficially Spring (yet it’s pouring buckets and blowing icy wind outside right now), so here’s two of the “Daddies” holding bouquets and looking quite stylish.💐 (My husband pointed out Faustuz looks a bit like Steve Jobs, and actually thought his glasses looked nice, lol) - Tyrone, Johannes Faustuz, and their boss Leyon are called “The Daddies” or “Daddy Doctors” at work since they often hang out together to talk about their challenges of being dads; Tyrone has a toddler daughter (Queenie) and young adult niece (Tricia), Faustuz has a teenage son (Cedrick), and Leyon has an adult son (Vincent-Claude). - I thought about making an info graphic slide show featuring my doctor OCs about the current microbe causing troubles, but I’m not a doctor and my knowledge on Epidemics is a bit dated (I was taking advanced Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy college classes back when H1N1 Swine Flu was the new big bad bug in 2008-2009). I’d focus on more light-hearted basic stuff (like washing your hands while singing cheesy 90s song choruses, and fun greetings), and “Flatten the Curve” to help overworked medical institutions and workers by practicing common sense. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #men #flowers #blue #frauv8_ocs

This is what happens when Johannes Faustuz is sleep deprived and has no coffee before work. Or maybe he’s really just a mad doctor or crazy substitute professor. (I look the same when I don’t get enough sleep and coffee for several days straight, lol) - I was kinda going for a Junji Ito look, but I would have to be way more detailed and cleaner with my line work as well as make Hr. Dr. Kasper more creepy and grotesque (Ito is known for his horror stories). Faustuz already looks crazy as is, but compared to Ito’s work, he’s nothing, and I’m lazy. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #blackandwhite #animation #malecharacter #man #frauv8_ocs

It’s March and #stpatricksday is around the corner. So here’s something green. Could of drawn a Leprechaun, but in the Kaspers’ world, they’re evil creatures that smear unicorn poop on walls and lots of other nasty things; puts another meaning to “A pot of gold at the end of a rainbow” if that’s the case.🦄🌈💩 —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #green #white #black #frauv8_ocs
