Another color scheme pic; these colors are similar to a previous drawing (last slide). - It’s also a Kasper family portrait with Papa Ström stepping in. Looks like a happy family, but seconds before Freyja snapped the shot, everyone else isn’t so happy - especially her husband and father (second slide). Erik and Johannes Faustuz have a long history in not liking each other, but for family’s sake, they’re willing to set their grudges aside momentarily. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #colorstudy #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #boy #men #father #grandfather #son #femalecharacter #woman #mother #family #frauv8_ocs

Another color study - this time with the color of yellow (getting “Kill Bill” vibes with this color scheme). - Cedrick (or “CK” as his coworkers and acquaintances call him) is showing off a few of the latest Fall fashion trends this year. (There’s been so much tweed, knits, houndstooth, glen plaid, and yellow everywhere!😧) He’s also got a different haircut (well, actually a more trimmer and styled version of the bowl-cut he had for the past year), and he’s really looking like his father with that hairline. Cedrick also has his usual mismatched shoes despite being both sock shoes of the same brand (sock shoes are quite popular this season too). - I included closeups of his clothes, the original finished version featured in the IGTV post, and the line art for anyone who wants to color him in - just tag @frauv8 #frauv8colorthisin so I can see your work.🤗 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #colorstudy #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #teenageboy #yellow #fashion #fallfashion #plaid #sockshoes #frauv8_ocs

Johannes Faustuz is such a dorky dad. He’s very proud of owning wallet photos in an age when most people just use their mobile phones to show off family photos (Cedrick, on the other hand, is extremely embarrassed his father actually carries his baby pictures in his wallet - see old pic in 2nd slide). - Queenie isn’t happy that she lost the spotlight, but she’s going to have a very long discussion with adults after the day is over. — I didn’t have the exact extreme circumstances as Queenie, but when I was in preschool for a joint show-and-tell with parents, we had to share baby pictures of ourselves. Everyone else had cute baby photos when they had chubby cheeks and open eyes; my mom picked out a photo of me as a sleeping newborn baby with a head full of spiky hair and wearing boy’s clothes. I was obviously not happy, and classmates made fun of me for not having a cute baby photo. So after class my teacher had to explain to me that my baby picture was actually quite normal for a newborn and everyone starts off looking not like the stereotypical baby. Moral of the story: sometimes you need a hard dose of reality and truth early on as a young child. Because of instances like that, I’m very well aware of how many things are not what they seem, and often times I’d rather see the reality and from there I’ll make my judgments. - So I guess it goes full circle in regards to my characters? Each family has their secrets (Kaspers were Nazis, DeValuers were descendants of Syrian and Pied Noir refugees, Williamses have ancestors who were slave owners, etc.), but the current generations are nothing like the past and work hard to contribute back to society. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #comic #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #girl #child #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

The Kasper Family in the last 100 years. We’re most familiar with Johannes Faustuz, Freyja, and Cedrick; I’ve also shown Aunt Yoko, Uncle Heinrich, Hansel, and Hannah. Recently Olaf was introduced again with his identical twin brother Adolf and older brother Randolf (both died during WW2). Richard, Eva, and Leisa had been mentioned/shown briefly, Sigrid has only been shown in her fantasy version, while the others... Meh? - The Kaspers are a complicated family, looked upon as evil due to historical circumstances (WW1 & WW2 in recent times), but in most cases, they are quite boring just taking care of everything normally not of the world - like mythical creatures such as the Meerjungfrau, Hyōsube, Höllenhund, and in the past during WW2, Sleipnir. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #notes #family #familytree #frauv8

⛔️You have been warned⛔️ This idea has been in the scraps pile for obvious reasons, but with recent media being out there depicting this particular subject, I guess it’s a tad bit safer to bring it up? It’s going back to archives after awhile with an updated post with more details about these three Kaspers. It’s been hinted for a long time regarding Johannes Faustuz’s ancestors being involved with World War II. It’s time to show them: Randolf, Olaf, and Adolf - the Kaspers during the Second World War. Faustuz is very skittish about revealing his family’s history to others, afraid people will immediately treat him and his son Cedrick differently based off the fact his ancestors were not very good people. - The Kasper Family are snubbed by other families involved in the occult and mythological business due to their villainous behavior and historical circumstances (you can say the Kaspers are like Slytherin House in Harry Potter). It’s this very fact why Erik Ström didn’t want his only child Freyja falling in love and marrying Faustuz in the first place, even though he’s nothing like his predecessors (well, he’s just as hardheaded, intelligent, crafty, and occasionally creepy without being evil). Kaspers throughout the ages were known to be merchants, advisors, politicians, mercenaries, whatever profession that can be used to obtain resources in questionable ways. Since after the war with only Olaf surviving, each generation has tried their best to make up for the sins of their ancestors by using their skills and knowledge for good. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #comic #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #girl #ww2 #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Keeping up with the creepy Halloween vibes. - Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper is more than happy to give you an assessment on how much time you have left to live. He’s very accurate, earning him the nickname “The White Reaper” at work (in the Fantasy Concept, he’s actually a Grim Reaper - or at least the son of Death which makes him a Grim Reaper). - It’s a style I enjoy drawing - black and white with a hint of color and halftone. And there’s little details in the pic that hint on what this character is all about: •The skull showing the family symbol as well as association with death (Faustuz is an Oncologist, thus diagnoses what kinds of cancer people have); the skull also can hint to his no-nonsense, hardheadedness behavior. •An image of plant leaves showing a nurturing side (he’s a husband and father), and an appreciation of nature in general. •His certificate isn’t accurate in design, but shows where he studied based of the logo and location written on top (both Faustuz and his son Cedrick studied at the same university at Kiel). - This pic is a bit reminiscent of an older one drawn way back in May 2018 (last slide). Definitely an improvement in quality despite using the same app to make both. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #characterdesign #halftone #lineart #blackandwhite #malecharacter #doctor #office #frauv8_ocs #frauv8

Finished. Swipe to see full version without text. ➡️ And yes, “Sjöpenna” is a lamp you can buy on IKEA. According to the world’s most infamous translator Google Translate, it does translate as “sea pen fields” from Swedish. (makes sense looking at the lamp) And Cedrick is half Swedish, but doesn’t consider himself Swedish since he was born and raised in Kiel like his father. But Tricia doesn’t care - all she knows that his mother Freyja is Swedish therefore he’s Swedish too. — They first met when Tricia was 13 and Cedrick was almost 10 when Hr. Dr. Kasper had to assist teaching at the university; at this time, her uncle was still a medical student. Tricia mercilessly picked at Cedrick since he was so much smaller and couldn’t speak much English, often making him cry. Then one day the Kaspers were gone, making Tricia initially sad thinking that she was the reason why they left. Fast forward five years, Tricia is barely surviving her first year of college while Cedrick is much taller, fluent in several languages, and finished medical school at 14. Tricia is annoyed now that she needs help from someone she used to pick on in order to survive college; Cedrick, on the other hand, doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her - just gets frustrated every time she skips out on tutoring and babysitting for mall trips with her best friend Carmen. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

A glimpse into Freyja’s garden with the Pink Fairy (named Rosemarie), the baby Wolpertinger (affectionately called Fritz), the Hyōsube in her miniature bathtub (now called Junko Akane), Freud the Dachshund, and a Mindanao Man-Eating Tree sapling obviously nicknamed Seymour. The plants aside from Seymour are a tiny succulent, miniature apples (which Freyja calls “Idun’s Golden Apples”), a turnip, and a potted eggplant. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #sketchbook #sketch #sketching #leuchtturm1917 #plants #garden #dog #fairy #wolpertinger #hyosube

Cedrick walking Frl. Flicka again, who has now become a living flamethrower. On Halloween, her true Hellhound form will be revealed; afterwards she’ll be back to being a normal dog until next Halloween. - Originally Cedrick was supposed to have his hair slicked back like his grandfather Erik Ström, but after adding on a beanie, he looks way better and proportionate with his bowlcut down (2nd slide has original idea). I must say that I really like his Autumn outfit here - it’s cute and looks comfy! ❤️🧣🥾🧦 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #dog #doberman #blue #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Cedrick is still technically a kid at age 15 so he’s not too old for juice boxes, lol. (I still drink out of juice and milk boxes myself, and I’m not a kid) The juice boxes are also because he’s not allowed to drink alcohol during social gatherings (legal drinking age where the Kaspers work is 21; back in their home country it’s 16). - And looking at his juice box makes me feel uneasy because it’s all citrus juice, which is very acidic despite being tasty. I had an endoscopy earlier today, and it turns out that I have a stomach ulcer; that means no alcoholic drinks or spicy/acidic/greasy foods until I’m healed up (in other words, I’m stuck with the BRAT diet).😭 Maybe that’s why I picked this color scheme - it just reminds me of my horrible stomach acid.🤮 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #green #black #yellow #juicebox #colorscheme #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Here’s my Necromancer Mage. I’m done with #inktober2019. À bientôt! Auf Wiedersehen! Bye~👋🏻 (No... No... Not really, lol.) - #inktober is a big challenge, and this year I’m not feeling like doing 31 of these kind of pics. Obviously I’m skilled enough and capable of finishing a piece in a day, but to make a really good piece, it takes the whole day - if not more than a day (I spent maybe 12 hours total on this guy). This was also done on a large 10.5”x15” piece of paper (approximately 27x38cm), so I don’t think having another 30 of these lying around in my apartment is very practical (that’s why I’ve enjoy doing stuff digitally or in sketchbooks). I might make another traditional piece, but not anytime soon. ☠️ Media Used: •Sakura Pigma Micron •Staedtler Mars Graphic 3000 Duo •Winston & Newton Brushmarker •Spectrum noir Illustrator Dual-Tip Markers — #inktober #ink #blackink #pen #marker #markerart #alcoholmarker #traditionalart #traditionalmedia #drawing #inkdrawing #fantasyart #necromancer #mage #skull #magehat

Cedrick’s notes on the “Höllenhund” or “Hellhound”. - Frl. Flicka looks like a typical ordinary Doberman, but based on certain behaviors observed over time, she’s actually a Hellhound - or a least part Hellhound. With Halloween nearing, her hellish traits are being expressed more and more. Other traits include brimstone breath, breathing out fire, and offering mauled vermin. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #notes #dog #hellhound

Which lighting looks the best? 1, 2, 3, or 4? (4 is the same as the one without characters sans Soft Light layer effects) - It’s Freyja and Johannes Faustuz’s bedroom. Either they’re getting dressed up for the day or undressed for the night - you decide.😏 - Originally I planned on using a reddish-brown for the line art, but the blue just adds the right amount of pop for the details. And of course I had fun with the Soft Light layerings - thus I have a hard time choosing which one to put first on the post.
