#happypiday all you geeks! 🤓 To celebrate this year, here’s a cute pic of my own geeky character enjoying his slice of blueberry pie (yes, that’s Papa Kasper as a really little boy, not Cedrick). - Back when I was a wee high schooler, my Math teacher would have pies for us on Pi Day (3/14). Fantasy Concept: Sigrid the Blood Elf - Sigrid Faustuz was the second child and only daughter of the Elf King Spergeon. She was spared being killed as an infant, with her mother desperately wanting a daughter after raising a full-grown son. - Unlike the other Elf maidens, Sigrid couldn’t grow blooming flowers of life - she grew mushrooms of death directly from her hands. Because Elves are supposed to be creatures of life and creation, Sigrid was viewed as a genetic abomination and often shunned by her father and other purists only being able to cause rot and death in the forest. Sigrid also physically looked different from the other Elves with her jet-black hair and deathly-pale skin. Despite being a Blood Elf, she never obtained the blood-red eyes associated with the condition; she inherited her father’s aquamarine eyes. - Sigrid becomes a curiosity for Death in each of their encounters, seeing that she’s still alive being a Blood Elf and having the ability to grow poisonous organisms directly from her hands. Sigrid falls deeply in love with Death, thinking he truly cares for her in his mortal Human-Elf form as Richard Kasper; Death viewed her as an experiment to see if he is even capable of love and compassion despite his urges to kill and devour lives. Another #characterdrawing. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I actually had a bit of fun with the color scheme, drawing Hr. Dr. Kasper wearing an older-styled lab coat, and having one of his signature character quirks: the “#1DAD” coffee mug he’s always seems to cling onto no matter what, either because he’s a caffeine addict or really does take pride in being a father (there’s actually a story in mind on how he got the mug). - I haven’t been as active as much as I want to - I’ve kind of been a bit in the dumps with work cancelled “indefinitely” (not kidding - it’s what my emails say), so my usual pep hasn’t been quite the same. I’m also trying to think up some other ideas to draw as well as plan to make some redraws of older stuff from the past to compare how much I’ve improved over the years. I’m also thinking about collaborations if anyone is interested, so yar... I really don’t have much else to say. Fantasy Concept: Death in His Immortal Form - Death is an immortal being created by the goddess Fate to serve as her right-hand man. He keeps tabs on people’s actions and maintains the balance of power and life. Unlike his creator, Death is rarely appreciated and worshipped, making him very annoyed with the world. He’s often crass, easily bored, and does his job without mercy. No one knows his whereabouts except for Fate. - Despite his frightening appearance, Death is actually quite a prankster. He’s also willing to make deals with people at the cost of something precious. Death is not a very affectionate being, but does care deeply about fairness towards others based on their actions - which explains why he spared killing his future wife Sigrid when she offered him a rare mushroom she grew from her hand. Fantasy Concept: The Original Kasper Clan - Richard and Sigrid with their newborn son Johannes Faustuz. - Richard was originally Death, the goddess Fate’s right hand man in maintaining global order. He grows bored one day, wanting to roam the world to study its inhabitants for fun and curiosity. Fate grants him his wish, giving him a mortal disguise as a traveling quack doctor of “mostly Elf and some Human” ancestry. Most of his medical wares do work - just not as immediate as people hope, which often leads to confrontations and beatings leaving him often penniless. - Sigrid is the daughter of the Elf King Spergeon Faustuz. She was born a Blood Elf, a rare genetic anomaly in which instead of creating blooming flowers of life she grows mushrooms of death; her hair is also jet black instead of the platinum blond all normal Elves have. She was spared death at the behalf of her mother and brother with the condition that she would never marry and have any children. - Sigrid accidentally meets Richard in the forest as he transforms from his skeletal form into his flesh form. He thought about killing her for seeing him in his immortal form, but immediately spares her when she offers him a rare poisonous mushroom from her hand. They meet again at a night market where he was beaten and robbed of his goods; Sigrid takes him into her father’s palace out of pity so he can heal. The Elf King grows wary of his daughter’s affection for the mysterious man, exiling her after seeing the two share a kiss. Richard takes Sigrid to his newly founded village with other exiled Elves and Human-Elf hybrids for safety. Tag it #colorthisyourstyle @frauv8 so I can see your version. 🤗 - With the way I colored Cedrick, he’s wearing a grey tank top, black track pants, green Germany track jacket, and Adidas sandals with colorful techno bands. - Cedrick is also eating a bag of his favorite candy: salted black licorice. Salted black licorice originated in Northern Europe and was used as medicine for coughs and clearing airways (basically cough drops). It’s an appropriate favorite candy for my OC because he is from Kiel, Germany - it borders Scandinavia where the candy is popular. Cedrick is also a doctor, so it’s kinda a nod to licorice’s medicinal use. But it’s not an everyday treat or else it’s a trip to the hospital. - Side Note 📝: Are those #haribo salted black licorice pretzels any good? I always liked black licorice (my brother and I as little kids would pick out the black jellybeans because they were black licorice flavored), but I never had it salted. Just out of curiosity, which version of Cedrick is your favorite: as a baby, a kid, or as a teenager? Drawing him as a teenager makes him more fluid with the times and he was a young adult in his original 2005 design, but he’s definitely cuter as a very young kid. - The #fjallraven bag Freyja is holding is based off of my own birch green mini version.
