It’s not Halloween anymore, yet I’m still stuck drawing my characters with body and face paint.
Not feeling well with a severe migraine and reeling from watching the election results either.
I guess I’m in a dark uninspired mood.💀

#happydayofthedead a.k.a. #diadelosmuertos!
Just felt like drawing something festive and seasonal; I also included a non-skull face version as well.

Idk if I’m getting better or worse with my art, lol.
I know for sure that I’m getting really tired and lazy, and work has been taking a toll on me (I got mask-ne, hair loss, lack of sleep, and I’m suspecting that I’ve been grinding my teeth while I’m sleeping; I ordered mouth-guards and a twin-sized weighted blanket to hopefully help me cope with my stress).
The background is based off the photo of Starbucks in the last slide (found it online via Pinterest, not mine).
Both father’s and son’s outfits are based off of real ones (also included in slides).
The Kaspers currently live in Los Angeles since they can’t go back to either Kiel or Stockholm due to European travel bans.
Even though they can’t go far from their house, California has a lot to offer to do while quarantining.
One of their favorite things to do is just walk around for hours to see the sights and enjoy whatever food is available (otherwise, they stay home fighting over TV and video games whenever Papa Kasper isn’t teaching on Zoom).

Sigrid’s very frilly and girly princess pink bedroom, located upstairs directly above the flower shop.
-
Sigrid doesn’t always like showing off her feminine side, often making herself prickly like a porcupine to keep people away (aside from her mother Aina).
But it hasn’t deterred a foreign suitor from visiting the flower shop to woo her with random gifts of letters, cards, boxes of chocolates and cookies, bottles of Chanel No. 5, and Tiffany jewelry.
At first, Sigrid didn’t want to do anything with Richard and his gifts, but after he fell seriously ill with lovesickness, she felt guilty; she finally let him in her heart as he recovered in her room for a night.
Until her death, Sigrid would wake up with a random gift left behind by Richard on her bed; of all the gifts, her favorite was a custom engagement ring Richard had made for her with a raw pink South African diamond in the center.

Day 23:
Beachwear
•Hawaiian Shirt
•Shorts
•Sandals
•Straw Hat

Johannes Faustuz enjoying the sunny beach life of Los Angeles, California.
There’s no way he can do the same thing back in Kiel where it’s much cooler, cloudier, windy, and occasionally rainy or snowy in the Autumn.

Hr. Dr. Richard Kasper & Sigrid Faustus
Copenhagen, Denmark
Circa Oct.-Nov. 1980 🇩🇰
-
Richard returns from the Kasper Family Estate in Kiel, Germany to reunite with his beloved Sigrid for the weekend; Richard tried to visit Aina’s flower shop/house every week after taking care of family business (soul reaping for Death) and clients who ask for his services to exterminate and/or relocate unwanted creatures, but was often gone up to two-three months at time busy with work.
Richard was determined to spend as much time with Sigrid as possible due to her life curse (it was placed by her father, reducing her life span to less than twenty years).
Richard was known for wearing a huge oversized grey fur coat during the Fall and Winter months, putting a lot more attention on him whenever he’s around the neighborhood; Sigrid didn’t like the extra attention whenever Richard was around wearing his coat (as well as certain other outfits), especially when people referred her mother as “Witch” and classmates ridiculed her love of video games, being extremely smart, and wearing plain attire.
People found them a rather odd couple due to Richard’s questionable occupation/background and Sigrid’s young age, but Sigrid’s mother Aina couldn’t been more happy seeing her daughter have the chance to live her life to the fullest.
-
As for Richard’s fur coat today, his son Johannes Faustuz inherited it, set aside in the darkest part of his closet; in rare occasions, he will wear it on top of a formal suit when the weather is extremely freezing outside (Hr. Dr. Kasper thinks it’s a gaudy thing to wear, and doesn’t like the fact it’s made of real grey wolf fur).

Day 22:
Swimwear
•Red Swimming Trunks
•Sandals
•Sunglasses
•Sunscreen
-
He’s normally jogging and walking the dogs around in his spare time to keep in shape.
But every now and then, he can be found around the beach testing out the waves with a surfboard, a perk of being a Californian (most of the time).
As an oncologist, he always has sunscreen on hand to keep skin cancer away as much as possible and avoid being burned to a crisp.

Day 21:
Underwear 2
•Briefs
-
Looks like he’s in a really bad mood today - Johannes Faustuz just lost a bet with his wife Freyja and has to model for an underwear magazine article for her.
(He also hates wearing briefs - it’s boxers or nothing for this guy)

Ver. 1 and Ver. 2
A bit more painterly style than usual.
Not exactly what I thought it would turned out to be, but it was an experiment (needs more flowers next time, and maybe more blending and shading?).

October is Cedrick’s birth month.
His second-cousin Evangeline thinks he’s a cursed child being born on Friday the 13th, while Tante Yoko thinks he could be a reincarnation of his grandfather Richard (who was born on the 10th of October).
Alongside him are marigolds, cosmos, and a calendula - all birth flowers for October.

Sidetrack pic of Fall fashion and colors with this father and son duo; I might be making more of these kind of pics throughout the month with other OCs.
All this brown and orange makes me want a soy pumpkin latte and a pumpkin scone from Starbucks...

Day 4:
Activewear Outfit 1
•Tank Top
•Leggings
•Running Shoes
-
His outfit has a lot of color, making him more visible as he jogs; Johannes Faustuz also makes sure people can see his mask to show that it doesn’t affect his breathing as he exercises.
“It’s not that hard to wear a piece of fabric for a few hours a day to save lives. We do so whenever we click on a seat belt before driving a car, so what’s the difference with face masks?”
He’s also been having quite a bit of schadenfreude with recent news, but does hope people will finally put their politics aside and realize the scientific importance of wearing masks to slow the spread more than ever (he’s a doctor after all).

Another pic found from the Scrap Pile that I finished up...
I’m not going to sleep well with the neighboring apartment building’s fire alarm constantly blaring for hours (no firefighters around to turn it off because there’s the Bobcat Fire still blazing), and after watching the sh!tstorm of a debate that happened...🤦🏻♀️

It’s been a long time since I posted something...
I’m really burned out from work, having lack of sleep, and severely suffering from Artist Block.
Even the fashion Richard and Sigrid are wearing are off-season...
(it’s Fall now, but still feels like Summer)
-
This was a quick #charactersheet made using the new mini posing figures I bought from Amazon recently; the figures just happen to be the right height difference for these two (as well as Freyja and Faustuz), which is going to be a great help drawing OCs from now on.

Hr. Dr. Kasper’s mother Sigrid loved Rødgrød, especially when she was a child. Unfortunately, like most of his predecessors in the Kasper bloodline, he’s lactose intolerant (which is ironic considering the fact the region where they live is where the world’s favorite dairy cows comes from). This doesn’t stop his grandmother Aina from feeding him the sweet berry treat drizzled with lots of cream, constantly giving poor Johannes-Faustuz stomach aches until the day he discovers lactase pills.
Despite bad childhood memories of eating it, Faustuz has created a dairy-alternative version for himself and his Cedrick to enjoy while being stuck in quarantine.
