• Random short: 5-year-old Johannes Faustuz with his grandmother Aina and Hedy the black cat. (swipe over to see a cute little Sigrid) - Every summer vacation as a child, Hr. Dr. Kasper was sent off to Copenhagen to stay with his grandmother Aina (later with his father’s distant cousin Dagfinnr at the family’s hotel when he needed a summer job, also located in Copenhagen). Aina would spoil him as much as possible since he was her only grandchild and only reminder of her both her daughter Sigrid and son-in-law Richard since their deaths. Johannes Faustuz would have a hard time going back home to Kiel after the summer months, knowing that his older cousins would be there to torment him; he misses Copenhagen, more so now he can’t go back due to the pandemic, but he still keeps in touch with his grandmother via FaceTime just to make sure she’s doing well. — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #boy #woman #cat #girl

Some random Richard and Hedy scribblings... 🐈‍⬛ Richard had taken one of Hedy’s nine lives when he mistaken her for a Tatzelwurm in Aina’s greenhouse. Hedy took an instant liking to him despite what he had done and the fact Richard isn’t much of a cat-person - especially being a Grim Reaper and cats being known for the association with life and death. Richard also doesn’t like dealing with Sigrid’s neighbor/teacher Mr. Vannderhassen for numerous reasons, including the fact Hedy keeps running away and staying in the greenhouse or garden; regardless of the trouble, Richard does care about Hedy even though he calls her a pest. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #man #cat #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #frauv8_ocs #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart

“I love ...” Oh my... Who’d knew Hr. Dr. Kasper had such a potty mouth? 🤣 (sorry - I don’t speak German, but as an English-speaker, sometimes I hear things in other languages that makes me go “WHUT?!”) - I also included a masked version in the 2nd slide (because we’re still all in a pandemic), the original “Dapper Dads” pic, and a heart cookie (Lebkuchenherz) in the end. — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #malecharacter #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #man #men #fashion #suit #pink #red #black #white #valentinesgift #valentines #valentinesflowers #valentinesday #ichliebedich #lebkuchenherz

Richard and Sigrid having a serious chat about their son’s name. - Magnus is a nice old name that means “Great”, “Awesome”, and “Magnificent”. But Sigrid isn’t convinced - she thinks it’s too flashy; she wants something down-to-earth and also has simple nicknames to go with it - like Richard is “Dick” or “Dickie” (“Ricky” is his older brother Heinrich’s nickname). — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #halftone #blackandwhite #comic #frauv8_ocs

July 1981: Richard in doctor-mode, not very happy with Sigrid’s cravings for ice cream cones.🍦 (he might also be a bit jealous she can eat so much of it without stomachaches - Kaspers with heterochromia are lactose intolerant despite being from the land of the Holstein cow) - With anemia and not gaining enough weight, Richard is extremely concerned about Sigrid and their baby’s health. Now living in Kiel, Sigrid is constantly monitored by family members while Richard is working at the hospital and with house calls nearby (he’s still treating Sonja Ström in Stockholm). — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #woman #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #icecream #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing

Like his parents, Hr. Dr. Kasper also got married in March (the 15th). Also like his mother Sigrid, he and Freyja were married at very young age (he rescued her from a Bluebeard when they were 16-17, resulting in an unexpected marriage conducted by a priest’s ghost; they still haven’t had an official wedding since then, so that’s something to look forward to in the near future). - Richard’s 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle has been fought over by all three Kasper Siblings since his death, especially between Hansel and Hannah (each of them learned how to drive with the car). But both Hansel and Hannah were quick to leave home after graduating and turning 18, leaving the car behind for Faustuz to use as soon as he was older - and after a long restoration period, he still drives his father’s car around to this day. — #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #frauv8_ocs #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #car #volkswagenbeetle #comic

Mama Kasper isn’t happy being excluded for so long after sleeping for a few hours - she’s mad at her boys for reading ahead without her. - Both Richard and Aina ideally wanted Sigrid to continue her education as a normal schoolgirl despite her tragic circumstances. But after Sigrid’s expulsion from high school, her secret relationship revealed, and now with a little more than a year left to live, Richard brought up the idea of getting married and having a child; Aina sobs tears of joy as her daughter and future son-in-law share a kiss to celebrate their new way of life. — #autodesksketchbook #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #halftone #blackandwhite #comic

Now Cedrick wants in, only to be grossed out by his grandparents’ questionable romance (why Hr. Dr. Kasper doesn’t like talking about his parents - the fact Richard was much older than Sigrid, both died when he was young, and other reasons). And no Cedrick - your grandfather Richard was closer to 25, not 30 (but still makes the relationship questionable). - Sigrid attended an all-girls high school where dating is frowned upon and forbidden, especially if caught together on campus. Sigrid and Richard tried to keep their relationship hidden away by many means so she can continue learning. They went out on dates late at night, hid in a Kaspers’ family owned hotel, and Richard often stayed overnight at the flower shop after dinner to avoid being seen at school; but classmates had seen her with Richard at the arcade, jumping at the opportunity to get her in trouble by reporting to their teacher Mr. Vannderhassen (who’s also her neighbor). Expelled, Sigrid then turned her attention on the family business selling flowers and potions, leading to marrying Richard and having a child of their own. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #halftone #blackandwhite #frauv8_ocs

Now Papa Ström is up with a few words about Sigrid. (Erik has a longer hairstyle with the pandemic still ongoing) - Erik normally was annoyed with Richard flirting with his wife Sonja while treating her coughs (mostly with medicine he gets from Aina) and chasing out unwanted creatures in the mansion, but noticed the flattery had toned down significantly over the years. After one appointment treating Sonja, Richard accidentally left his coat behind; Erik was able to find a folded letter addressed to Copenhagen in a pocket, using it to personally deliver the coat back to Richard. Erik was puzzled to see that the address led him to a house converted into a flower shop on the lower floor. He sees a pregnant girl restocking buckets with fresh-cut roses and asks if Richard was around; she reassured him that Richard would be back soon if he waited, offering tea to help pass time. As promised, Richard returned with several ice cream cones in his hands, surprised to see that Erik came all the way from Stockholm just to return his coat; as he gives the ice cream cones to the girl (who immediately starts eating one, devouring all four in minutes), Richard introduces her as his wife Sigrid. Erik was extremely shocked to find out that Richard was not only married but married to a girl so young; the shock and disgust quickly cleared off when he learned about her father’s curse, realizing how similar her situation was to his own wife Sonja who was born with a lung disease. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #originalcharacters #halftone #blackandwhite #comic #frauv8_ocs

Johannes Faustuz sees that his parents were quite dorky together, something he could relate with (he and Freyja can get a bit dorky too, often embarrassing their son Cedrick whenever he’s around). He’s also seeing his father through the eyes of his mother with the diary, as well as the thoughts of the young girl he never interacted with (she died soon after childbirth; Richard died when he was two years old). - Sigrid and Richard were inseparable after their first night together, their bond constantly reenforced with their shared interests in games, movies, and pop music (aside from being familiar with the world of the occult and mythical creatures, and both were very knowledgeable about natural remedies). They would try to beat each other’s high scores in the arcade, finish quoting lines from movies, and Sigrid loved listening to Richard sing the latest pop songs pitch perfect (something Faustuz actually inherited from him, making him the “Karaoke King” of the family). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #comic #frauv8_ocs

There he is, finally out of the shadows where he prefers. It’s Hr. Dr. Kasper’s turn to read Sigrid’s diary. - Johannes Faustuz mostly heard about his father Richard through his relatives and father-in-law Erik Ström, explaining how he was feared for his red-hot temper and was very efficient with his job as a reaper and monster hunter, but also how much he was a bit of a quack and playboy with the ladies (prior to meeting Sigrid). His grandmother Aina occasionally talks about Sigrid’s childhood, how much Faustuz takes after her as a quiet and observant child, and often mentions how much Sigrid was in love with Richard and was excited to become a mother despite people’s disapproval (she was only 16); Aina would then go silent and start sobbing after being reminded that both Sigrid and Richard are gone, usually hugging him tightly as the only thing left behind for her to cherish. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #comic #blackandwhite #halftone

Richard caught another Tatzelwurm, this time it’s a baby one (they range from 1-7ft/0.3-2m long). Whatever Aina has in her garden in the backyard, Tatzelwurms are drawn to it (she does grow rare plants); Tatzelwurms are known to cause havoc wherever there’s significant resources nearby. Richard knows he has to kill the Tatzelwurm or else Aina’s livelihood is destroyed, but with Sigrid around, he has to be discreet about it (he doesn’t like killing in front of females, nor could Sigrid stomach anything so cruel - which she had unfortunately saw Richard do once). — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #couple #malecharacter #femalecharacter #tatzelwurm #mythicalcreatures #ipaddrawing #frauv8_ocs

Page 9 - Cedrick has finally arrived! He’s completely out of breath, unable to speak in either German or English after pedaling from the Kasper residence to a garden center then the Williams’ house. Normally it’s a 5 Mi/8 Km trip one-way to the Williamses, but add in a trip to the local garden center in the opposite direction, Cedrick is one tired kid (he’s not old enough to drive yet). It’s also not as easy to find a pine tree sapling around the start of the Holiday Season during Quarantine (most have been grown and sold to become Christmas trees). The Chickcarney is more than happy to see any live pine tree to use as a portal to his spiritual home, but this one might need a little bit of growing more up for the Chickcarney to use it properly. (Cedrick is going to get an earful from his papa for buying a year-old pine tree sapling...) Also, Cedrick hardly calls his father “Papa” or “Vati” out of respect (he actually refers his grandfather Erik as “Papa”, so it adds to the weirdness and confusion calling his father “Papa”). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #boy #bicycle #chickcarney #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #black #white #blackandwhite #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #halftone

Kinda Page 8? There should technically be another page or two before this, but I’ve been wanting to draw Cedrick on the Kasper Family’s errand bike for a while.😛 I should really rewind a bit and get back to the Chickcarney and Queenie now... - Cedrick was called from the Kaspers’ home located elsewhere around Los Angeles, not too far away from the Williamses (about 5-10 miles). Of the Kaspers’ three bikes, it’s the pink one that has the hardware needed for shopping and transporting goods (the other two are for biking trails). Both Hr. Dr. Kasper and Cedrick try to avoid the pink bike for obvious reasons (they get snickers and second looks from passerby’s), but with Freyja being the only female in the family and in charge of the family resources, they quickly swallow their pride for the sake of getting errands done. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #boy #bicycle #pinkbike #comic #animestyle #ipaddrawing

Don’t worry - I’ll be back on the Chickcarney project soon enough ... November 1981: Aina, Sigrid, and Richard on their way back from the grocery store. Richard is wearing his grey wolf fur coat while Sigrid is looking a lot rounder this time, and it’s not only because of her constant consumption of ice cream cones. Aina is Sigrid’s mother, known as “The Witch of Copenhagen” due to her exotic flowers, extensive collection of herbal medicine and potions, eccentric behavior, and striking appearance (she’s albino). Aina and Sigrid are very close, though Aina can get a bit nosy and often teases Sigrid whenever she’s trying to process something new; despite that, Aina is very supportive of her daughter and tries her best to get Sigrid out of her shell and experience the World - especially with a life curse placed on her by her own father cutting her life down to less than twenty years to live. It was Aina who encouraged both Richard and Sigrid to get together despite what society had to say (Richard is almost 8 years older than Sigrid, raising a lot of eyebrows seeing a teenage girl with an older man); she could tell Richard was tired living life as a traveling playboy while her daughter Sigrid needed someone experienced to guide her and push her to live to the fullest. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #mother #daughter #husband #woman #man #couple #family #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart

Page 6 - Chickcarneys live in pine trees. California had a lot of wildfires lately with most of the trees burned being pine trees; a lot of trees had also been cut down and removed either as preventative measures or other reasons (ie. Landscaping, Construction, Etc.). The Williams Family live in a suburb near Los Angeles, leading to the latter - the poor Chickcarney most likely lost his home due to tree removal. — #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #woman #girl #child #autodesksketchbook #comic #digitalart #digitaldrawing #black #white #blackandwhite #halftone #femalecharacter #chickcharney #mangastyle #animestyle

Page 5 - The Mamas taking a selfie. So how did Asia Williams become a big fan of Freyja Ström? Asia has been following Freyja since her teen modeling days, admiring the fact that Freyja has unique features: bright strawberry-blonde hair, freckles, a strong Swedish accent, and not being as tall as an usual supermodel (she’s considered a “Petite Model” at 5’7”/170cm); also, Freyja is a fellow working mother. Because of her “lack of height”, Freyja had been sidelined often from major shows - so much that she got frustrated and went in hiatus working at her family’s business for almost a decade until a British producer needed a model to host his new TV fashion show; Asia was beyond ecstatic with the news of a TV show featuring her favorite teen supermodel returning to the fashion world, and has been watching her show religiously for five years while wishing to be a contestant. — #femalecharacter #women #woman #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #halftone #black #white #blackandwhite #digitalart #digitaldrawing #comic #selfie
