The night Sigrid and Richard made their relationship official.
Even Freyja is blushing from what’s written but not shown (it’s so spicy that everything is blacked out and left for the imagination).
Johannes Faustuz is starting to get annoyed with Freyja up late reading his mother’s diary, except he thinks she’s reading a cheesy romance novel.
(Freyja is also back to the random page she first read when opening up Sigrid’s diary)

Freyja still reading Sigrid’s diary late into the night.
-
Richard was gone for half a year at the time hunting down a Manticore in Greece, then collecting the lost souls of those who were eaten by the Manticore to prevent the creation of Poltergeists; Sigrid was left alone wondering why he hasn’t returned to Copenhagen in so long.
Also around this time, Richard was becoming more ill with lovesickness, needing to return to Copenhagen to not only replenish his vial supply but to see Sigrid again.

Sigrid’s neighbor/history teacher Mr. Vannderhassen scolding her about her attire and being with Richard.
-
Aina insists that Richard stays with Sigrid whenever she goes out of the flower shop/house - especially when the neighbor is watching from outside (he’s much older than her, Richard, and even older than her mother Aina).
Mr. Vannderhassen has tried reporting Richard for lewd behavior with a minor to the authorities multiple times, but with Aina’s interference and Sigrid insistence that nothing unusual was happening, his claims go unheard.
Sigrid will write about another incident he tries to enact, only for it to backfire when Richard reveals himself as a Grim Reaper.
(really serious and dark issues here).

Sigrid never had an attachment with anyone else besides her mother, until Richard suddenly appeared.
With each visit, she slowly warmed up to Richard’s charms - especially when he had gifts in hand to coax her out from hiding in the storage room.
Each gift was intriguing to her, the first one being a bottle of Chanel perfume, the second a batch of Japanese hard candies, the third a puzzle box with Swiss chocolate truffles inside, and the fourth she waited to open until his return from Sweden: a pair of crystal stud earrings.
Sigrid also grew to love his odd-colored eyes, goofy smile, feathery hair, and his voice.

Sigrid writes about her first meeting with Richard on Valentine’s Day 1979.
-
Sigrid initially didn’t like Richard for obvious reasons, but there’s little hints that there are things she immediately liked about him (like his smile), and admitted she finds him attractive.

Sigrid’s first two dairy entries.
-
Freyja is shook, realizing that her husband’s mother was only a teenager when she gave birth to him (Johannes Faustuz doesn’t like talking about his parents not only because both had died when he was young, but the fact his father was so much older than his mother and the sigma of his mother being a teen mother).

Johannes Faustuz is sorting out the random family items he gets from Kiel, this time a box full of Richard’s stuff.
-
Freyja has heard stories of Richard from both her husband and her father Erik (he was a regular client of Richard’s monster hunting and creature relocating; Richard also treated Freyja’s mother Sonja of her illness).
Freyja knows Faustuz is half-Danish on his mother’s side, but she’s never heard anything about Sigrid; now with Sigrid’s diary, Freyja gets to know about her.

Richard caught another Tatzelwurm, this time it’s a baby one (they range from 1-7ft/0.3-2m long).
Whatever Aina has in her garden in the backyard, Tatzelwurms are drawn to it (she does grow rare plants); Tatzelwurms are known to cause havoc wherever there’s significant resources nearby.
Richard knows he has to kill the Tatzelwurm or else Aina’s livelihood is destroyed, but with Sigrid around, he has to be discreet about it (he doesn’t like killing in front of females, nor could Sigrid stomach anything so cruel - which she had unfortunately saw Richard do once).

I’ve been super busy and lazy at the same (work and not feeling like drawing).
So here’s a little something for the meantime: Johannes Faustuz and his aunt Yoko coming home from the Asian market.

#charactersheet 3:
Tricia Williams and Cedrick Kasper.
They’re not a couple (over 5 years apart, Tricia being 19 and Cedrick 14-15), but the two are quasi-friends and often seen together mostly for tutoring sessions.
-
Tricia has always been a bit of a B- her whole life, but she has legit reasons (never had a dad around, mother died, being deathly allergic to animals, etc.).
After being taken in by her uncle Tyrone at age 16, Tricia has been adjusting to her new environment for the last few years.
She’s still wary being around the Kaspers for reasons, and finds their mishmash of Scandinavian/Japanese culture weird, on top of their ability to fight monsters and reap souls.
Tricia in general doesn’t like either Kasper guy by all means, (Hr. Dr. Kasper being too stern and Cedrick being a boy), but deep down inside she actually appreciates their help.
Cedrick, on the other hand, can be a bit too naïve, impressionable, and carefree.
He’s very sociable with other kids, always curious to learn about anything, and willing to share his knowledge with everyone; being a prodigy, his father Hr. Dr. Kasper affectionately calls him “Wunderkind”.
Cedrick is working on becoming a full-fledged surgeon like his father, but also has dabbled with design and crafting - showing potential for the Ström side of the family.
Cedrick doesn’t always like being around Tricia, but being Tyrone’s niece, Cedrick puts on a cheerful face and does his best to help her out (he actually had called her “B!tch” once out of frustration, which ended up with Tricia crying and his father hitting his head and screaming at him in their native language to apologize immediately).

Well, I might make another character sheet to include Tricia.
And I thought it’d be funny for Tricia to say the same thing her uncle Tyrone said at the start of the story.

Cedrick has finally arrived!
He’s completely out of breath, unable to speak in either German or English after pedaling from the Kasper residence to a garden center then the Williams’ house.
Normally it’s a 5 Mi/8 Km trip one-way to the Williamses, but add in a trip to the local garden center in the opposite direction, Cedrick is one tired kid (he’s not old enough to drive yet).
It’s also not as easy to find a pine tree sapling around the start of the Holiday Season during Quarantine (most have been grown and sold to become Christmas trees).
The Chickcarney is more than happy to see any live pine tree to use as a portal to his spiritual home, but this one might need a little bit of growing more up for the Chickcarney to use it properly.
(Cedrick is going to get an earful from his papa for buying a year-old pine tree sapling...)
Also, Cedrick hardly calls his father “Papa” or “Vati” out of respect (he actually refers his grandfather Erik as “Papa”, so it adds to the weirdness and confusion calling his father “Papa”).

Kinda Page 8?
There should technically be another page or two before this, but I’ve been wanting to draw Cedrick on the Kasper Family’s errand bike for a while.😛
I should really rewind a bit and get back to the Chickcarney and Queenie now...
-
Cedrick was called from the Kaspers’ home located elsewhere around Los Angeles, not too far away from the Williamses (about 5-10 miles).
Of the Kaspers’ three bikes, it’s the pink one that has the hardware needed for shopping and transporting goods (the other two are for biking trails).
Both Hr. Dr. Kasper and Cedrick try to avoid the pink bike for obvious reasons (they get snickers and second looks from passerby’s), but with Freyja being the only female in the family and in charge of the family resources, they quickly swallow their pride for the sake of getting errands done.

Don’t worry - I’ll be back on the Chickcarney project soon enough ...
November 1981: Aina, Sigrid, and Richard on their way back from the grocery store.
Richard is wearing his grey wolf fur coat while Sigrid is looking a lot rounder this time, and it’s not only because of her constant consumption of ice cream cones.
Aina is Sigrid’s mother, known as “The Witch of Copenhagen” due to her exotic flowers, extensive collection of herbal medicine and potions, eccentric behavior, and striking appearance (she’s albino).
Aina and Sigrid are very close, though Aina can get a bit nosy and often teases Sigrid whenever she’s trying to process something new; despite that, Aina is very supportive of her daughter and tries her best to get Sigrid out of her shell and experience the World - especially with a life curse placed on her by her own father cutting her life down to less than twenty years to live.
It was Aina who encouraged both Richard and Sigrid to get together despite what society had to say (Richard is almost 8 years older than Sigrid, raising a lot of eyebrows seeing a teenage girl with an older man); she could tell Richard was tired living life as a traveling playboy while her daughter Sigrid needed someone experienced to guide her and push her to live to the fullest.

So Asia is of Caribbean ancestry!
And the poor Chickcarney had lost his home due to sad circumstances...

Chickcarneys live in pine trees.
California had a lot of wildfires lately with most of the trees burned being pine trees; a lot of trees had also been cut down and removed either as preventative measures or other reasons (ie. Landscaping, Construction, Etc.).
The Williams Family live in a suburb near Los Angeles, leading to the latter - the poor Chickcarney most likely lost his home due to tree removal.

The Mamas taking a selfie.
So how did Asia Williams become a big fan of Freyja Ström?
Asia has been following Freyja since her teen modeling days, admiring the fact that Freyja has unique features: bright strawberry-blonde hair, freckles, a strong Swedish accent, and not being as tall as an usual supermodel (she’s considered a “Petite Model” at 5’7”/170cm); also, Freyja is a fellow working mother.
Because of her “lack of height”, Freyja had been sidelined often from major shows - so much that she got frustrated and went in hiatus working at her family’s business for almost a decade until a British producer needed a model to host his new TV fashion show; Asia was beyond ecstatic with the news of a TV show featuring her favorite teen supermodel returning to the fashion world, and has been watching her show religiously for five years while wishing to be a contestant.

The Mamas officially meet!
Asia is a super fan of Freyja’s TV show “FLASH FASHION”, always wanting to be a contestant in a challenge.
The Pandemic put a halt to that idea, but Freyja hasn’t forgotten her husband mentioning about a fan who happens to be his friend’s wife.
Freyja is also curious about the Chickcarney, and Freyja has a soft spot for creatures - especially fluffy ones.

Asia usually doesn’t want to do anything with Hr. Dr. Kasper (she still holds a grudge against him for spending more time with Tyrone than she gets with him pre-pandemic days; she’s also not amused with Faustuz having “a very questionable background”), but because Queenie thinks of him as an uncle, she’s reaching out to him.
Lucky for her, the Kaspers happen to be well versed with Cryptozoology and mythical creatures.
Tyrone thinks it’s manageable to own a pet, especially one without fur, but Asia isn’t taking chances with their niece Tricia allergic to animals.

Looks like Tyrone needs to wear glasses again, lol.
He wore them when he was little, but quit wearing glasses around Intermediate School because he wanted to look like a “cool, tough guy” (his BFF Hr. Dr. Kasper would not approve of this mindset nor does he reflect this idea; Hans will kick ass while wearing an outdated pair of wire-framed aviators)

Queenie has always been a handful; put her in a room full of knick knacks or with a bunch of creatures, it’ll be harder to get a hold of her.

More info about the creature is yet to come.
