Hearts and turnips everywhere! - Freyja is finally convinced that it’s not a Skvader in her garden because Mama Wolpertinger is huge (Skvaders to her are supposed to be like small rodents); Baby Wolpertinger also seems to really like Freyja a lot too. Mama Wolpertinger is extremely happy that she and her baby will have enough food for their summer hibernation; for next season, the Kaspers will make sure they have turnips growing in their garden. As for the fairy... Well, there’s one more thing waiting for her. Apparently she’s been punished for being such a bad little sprite. - This was actually fun to draw since it’s all the characters in this story in one pic. The fairy was definitely a fun character to bring back, and she’s most likely to come back again in something else in the future. Next story in mind might actually take place in the fantasy world or go back in time when Freyja and Johannes Faustuz were younger. We’ll see.🤷🏻‍♀️ — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #digitalsketch #illustration #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #fathermotherson #wolpertinger #fairy #turnips #animestyle #mangastyle #mythologicalcreatures

Somehow Johannes Faustuz managed to escape the wolpertingers to get turnips at the local store. If the whole family is at the store, they need to hurry before Mama Wolpertinger decides to go kaiju outside their garden. - Note📝: Despite being very close and attached to his father, Cedrick rarely calls him “Papa”, “Vati,” “Dad,” “Old Man,” or anything else out of respect. Faustuz, on the other hand, often calls his son by his nickname “Wunderkind.” — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #originalcharacterdrawing #malecharacters #autodesksketchbook #fatherson #turnips #animestyle #mangastyle

The fairy explains all - she let the wolpertingers in Freyja’s garden, lying to them that there’s turnips for them to eat. Now they need to figure out where to get turnips, and rescue the Herr Doktor before he gets stomped out of existence - unless he’s figured out something to divert Mama Wolpertinger’s wrath for a while. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #fairy #motherson #animestyle #mangastyle #comic

Meanwhile, Cedrick has finally caught up with the fairy. Freyja is going to do some serious interrogation to make her tell what happened to Johannes Faustuz. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #digitalsketch #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #teenageboy #fairy #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #mangastyle

Now Mama Wolpertinger is mad - you don’t make her baby cry. Papa Kasper better get some turnips ASAP, or else it’s more than just his wife’s garden that’d be destroyed. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #wolpertinger #manga #comic #mangastyle #animestyle #mythologicalcreatures

Freyja and Cedrick are looking for their missing family member, and they find his glasses with a fairy ring. While Papa Kasper is with the wolpertingers, Mama Kasper and Wunderkind have a fairy to catch. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #digitalsketch #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #motherson #animestyle #mangastyle

The pink fairy next to the Herr Doktor’s shattered glasses. - She’s one little vengeful sprite towards the Kaspers after being attacked by the family cat; her wings have cutout scars as a result from the surgery to preserve her ability to fly. Also as a fairy, she enjoys causing trouble and watching the chaos in action. But if she’s not careful, she’ll get caught up with the commotion. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #lineart #glasses #fairy #mythologicalcreature #orange #pink #cyan

The fairy returns!🧚‍♀️ (reminder on the second slide) The fairy was almost killed by Klimt the Weegie, so she still has a grudge towards the Kaspers despite being revived and stitched together by Cedrick. - So does Freyja have any turnips in her garden? No, she doesn’t. Cedrick’s notes comparing the heights of a Volkswagen bus camper, his father Johannes Faustuz, the pesky baby Wolpertinger, and the big Mama Wolpertinger. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #sizecomparison #notes #autodesksketchbook #mythologicalcreature #wolpertinger #volkswagen #man

But which one? Beetle or the camper van? Perhaps the next “Wunderkind’s Notes” will clarify how big Mama Wolpertinger is in comparison to Papa Kasper. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #motherson #animestyle #mangastyle #comic

So that’s what scared Klimt away. Different art stages of this pic of Cedrick and Klimt. - It wouldn’t be Cedrick if he doesn’t have something that’s mismatched - this case his socks are opposite colors. His oversized sweatshirt also has the symbol of the black skull, the Kasper family’s emblem in the fantasy concept. - The color scheme has an earthy vibe, so nothing too vibrant aside from the expression notations and text. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #lineart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #originalcharacterdrawing #malecharacter #teenageboy #cat #pottedplants #animestyle

Papa Kasper fell and cracked his glasses, so he’s really pissed off now. He was hoping that the family cat would take care of the creature, but the cat is running away. I did some coloring and adjusting to the original line art (last slide shows original expressions). Pretty amazing what slight redrawing of mouths can do.😬 - All three Kaspers together looking over the miniature apples Freyja bred herself; she calls them “Idun’s Golden Apples.” It’s not known whether these apples really preserve one’s youth or keeps doctors away. (Cedrick and Johannes Faustuz are both doctors; would that mean apples to them are like garlic to vampires?🤣) - Anyway, some sleep and after one more day of work, I’ll try to get the next page done. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #lineart #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #originalcharacterdrawing #malecharacters #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #family #fathermotherson #pottedplant #animestyle #frauv8_ocs

Cedrick’s notes on mythological bunnies. - Comparing the three species (technically two since Papa Kasper mentioned Skvaders weren’t real), it’s easy to see how people get them confused. Then there’s horned-birds like Elwetritschen about the same size as these bunnies that can add to the confusion. - Kudos to anyone who knows the inspiration of the last line in the bottom (wink wink, nudge nudge). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #notes #autodesksketchbook #mythologicalcreatures #skvader #wolpertinger #raurackl #jackalope #rasselbock
