Now Papa Ström is up with a few words about Sigrid. (Erik has a longer hairstyle with the pandemic still ongoing) - Erik normally was annoyed with Richard flirting with his wife Sonja while treating her coughs (mostly with medicine he gets from Aina) and chasing out unwanted creatures in the mansion, but noticed the flattery had toned down significantly over the years. After one appointment treating Sonja, Richard accidentally left his coat behind; Erik was able to find a folded letter addressed to Copenhagen in a pocket, using it to personally deliver the coat back to Richard. Erik was puzzled to see that the address led him to a house converted into a flower shop on the lower floor. He sees a pregnant girl restocking buckets with fresh-cut roses and asks if Richard was around; she reassured him that Richard would be back soon if he waited, offering tea to help pass time. As promised, Richard returned with several ice cream cones in his hands, surprised to see that Erik came all the way from Stockholm just to return his coat; as he gives the ice cream cones to the girl (who immediately starts eating one, devouring all four in minutes), Richard introduces her as his wife Sigrid. Johannes Faustuz sees that his parents were quite dorky together, something he could relate with (he and Freyja can get a bit dorky too, often embarrassing their son Cedrick whenever he’s around). He’s also seeing his father through the eyes of his mother with the diary, as well as the thoughts of the young girl he never interacted with (she died soon after childbirth; Richard died when he was two years old). - Sigrid and Richard were inseparable after their first night together, their bond constantly reenforced with their shared interests in games, movies, and pop music (aside from being familiar with the world of the occult and mythical creatures, and both were very knowledgeable about natural remedies). Dr. Kasper’s turn to read Sigrid’s diary. - Johannes Faustuz mostly heard about his father Richard through his relatives and father-in-law Erik Ström, explaining how he was feared for his red-hot temper and was very efficient with his job as a reaper and monster hunter, but also how much he was a bit of a quack and playboy with the ladies (prior to meeting Sigrid). Sigrid’s neighbor/history teacher Mr. Vannderhassen scolding her about her attire and being with Richard. - Aina insists that Richard stays with Sigrid whenever she goes out of the flower shop/house - especially when the neighbor is watching from outside (he’s much older than her, Richard, and even older than her mother Aina). Mr. Vannderhassen has tried reporting Richard for lewd behavior with a minor to the authorities multiple times, but with Aina’s interference and Sigrid insistence that nothing unusual was happening, his claims go unheard. Sigrid will write about another incident he tries to enact, only for it to backfire when Richard reveals himself as a Grim Reaper. Sigrid is not amused having a Grim Reaper watching over her as she walks home from school in Copenhagen - especially this one. (Richard can be a bit of a creep because he’s much older and taller than Sigrid) - As a teenage girl with less than two years to live, Death decided to have a little mercy on Sigrid by sending Richard from Kiel to “observe her” until her time is up (Death also thought it’d be fun to play with the heart of one of his top reapers just because he can). For her mother Aina, it was a huge relief because Sigrid had been attacked by bullies from school; Sigrid’s history teacher (and neighbor) also had been showing a strong interest in her aside from her academics, often stopping by the flower shop trying to convince Aina that Sigrid needs “extra lessons” (she knows better). Aina also took an instant liking to Richard, knowing despite his past as a playboy and being the younger of 2 sons of one of the deadliest killers of both humans and mythical creatures, he has a good heart and that Kaspers are very serious about taking care of family and loved ones. Whatever Aina has in her garden in the backyard, Tatzelwurms are drawn to it (she does grow rare plants); Tatzelwurms are known to cause havoc wherever there’s significant resources nearby. Hr. Dr. Kasper’s quirky grandmother, Sigrid’s mother Aina. Aina always kept her past a secret, not saying who was Sigrid’s father, why she changed her last name, how she came to own an oddities and flower shop, etc. Aina is albino, adding to her eccentric character that many fear; she’s often called a witch due to her vast knowledge of spells, potions, medicines, repellents, and cures. Because of this, her only child Sigrid was often teased mercilessly by peers (aside from Sigrid’s love for video games, simple attire, and timid behavior). Hannah grew up close to her older brother Hansel since both were close in age; the same cannot be said with Hr. Dr. Kasper, whom she always thought of as an annoyance since he replaced her spot in the family as the youngest (she also wasn’t happy when her uncle Richard spent less time with her - especially when Sigrid was around, and after Faustuz was born). Hannah was known as the “Problem Child” in her teenage years, often running away from home with various boyfriends to avoid her mother and younger cousin; but since her father Heinrich’s death, Hannah managed to change her behavior and ambitions in life by becoming a chef and “Critter-Employer” (she has a Kobold working with her in the kitchen, and a Tomte tending her vegetable garden). He’s very much like his uncle Richard chasing after women, only to end up with heartache mainly because he can’t stay faithful and committed to anything or anyone (Richard was also his idol as a child, being the “cool fun uncle”).
