Another color scheme pic; these colors are similar to a previous drawing (last slide).
-
It’s also a Kasper family portrait with Papa Ström stepping in.
Looks like a happy family, but seconds before Freyja snapped the shot, everyone else isn’t so happy - especially her husband and father (second slide).
Erik and Johannes Faustuz have a long history in not liking each other, but for family’s sake, they’re willing to set their grudges aside momentarily.

Another color study - this time with the color of yellow (getting “Kill Bill” vibes with this color scheme).
-
Cedrick (or “CK” as his coworkers and acquaintances call him) is showing off a few of the latest Fall fashion trends this year.
(There’s been so much tweed, knits, houndstooth, glen plaid, and yellow everywhere!😧)
He’s also got a different haircut (well, actually a more trimmer and styled version of the bowl-cut he had for the past year), and he’s really looking like his father with that hairline.
Cedrick also has his usual mismatched shoes despite being both sock shoes of the same brand (sock shoes are quite popular this season too).
-
I included closeups of his clothes, the original finished version featured in the IGTV post, and the line art for anyone who wants to color him in - just tag @frauv8 #frauv8colorthisin so I can see your work.🤗

The end of Queenie’s show-and-tell craziness. Despite all the trouble Queenie caused, Papa Kasper is putting himself out to take some of the heat from Momma Williams.
-
Like her niece Tricia, Asia Williams is not too fond of either of the Kasper men, especially Johannes Faustuz since her husband spends so much time with him - sometimes more than her, which makes her jealous of Faustuz. But when it comes to Freyja, she turns into a screaming fan girl just being around her favorite TV show host.
Unlike the rest of the Williams, Asia calls Faustuz “Jo” or “Jojo” instead of “Hans”, but is still like her family in not calling him by his preferred names (first and middle, just his middle, or his title and last name).
-
Also featured is Queenie’s overly worn out teddy bear Mr. Bellybutton Fluff. He’s been her favorite toy since she was a baby, and has gone through numerous repairs and checkups over the years since Queenie first met the Kaspers (he’s made up of scraps from worn out scrubs).

Decided to make the final version digital instead of coloring with markers.
Crazy how some coloring makes the pic look different from the original line art.

The color behind Freyja should be familiar - it’s #livingcoral, the Pantone color of 2019 and same color I used in a previous drawing of her back in January.
The way she’s dressed should also look familiar - Freyja is wearing an outfit inspired by her husband’s work attire, only much more stylish and vibrant (and less wrinkled, lol).

Something creepy as Halloween nears.
-
Still plan on making a more detailed digital version since this is a quick ink pic done in my mini sketchbook; the detailed version would also have him wearing a shirt with a rib cage to complete the skeletal-look - and Frl. Flicka’s true form!
Or another idea is have Cedrick in his fantasy version revealing his reaper-form which would be his actual skeleton showing through.

Testing out some alcohol markers I got from Daiso.
Nice vibrant colors, not very good blendablity.
They come in packs of two for $1.50 USD, so very cheap - maybe too cheap since one of the markers leaked inside the wrapper before opening and I had to throw it away (also made my skin blue like a Smurf for a bit).
So far, my favorite alcohol markers are Hobby Colour, Windsor & Newton, Master, Illustrator, and Ohuhu; Copic is great as always, but way too pricy.
-
As for the art, it’s a bit cutesy compared to my usual style.
It’s a different take on Freyja and Faustuz, almost like a Shojo manga. Especially for Johannes Faustuz looking more feminine here.

And yes, “Sjöpenna” is a lamp you can buy on IKEA.
According to the world’s most infamous translator Google Translate, it does translate as “sea pen fields” from Swedish.
(makes sense looking at the lamp)
And Cedrick is half Swedish, but doesn’t consider himself Swedish since he was born and raised in Kiel like his father.
But Tricia doesn’t care - all she knows that his mother Freyja is Swedish therefore he’s Swedish too.
—
They first met when Tricia was 13 and Cedrick was almost 10 when Hr. Dr. Kasper had to assist teaching at the university; at this time, her uncle was still a medical student. Tricia mercilessly picked at Cedrick since he was so much smaller and couldn’t speak much English, often making him cry. Then one day the Kaspers were gone, making Tricia initially sad thinking that she was the reason why they left.
Fast forward five years, Tricia is barely surviving her first year of college while Cedrick is much taller, fluent in several languages, and finished medical school at 14. Tricia is annoyed now that she needs help from someone she used to pick on in order to survive college; Cedrick, on the other hand, doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her - just gets frustrated every time she skips out on tutoring and babysitting for mall trips with her best friend Carmen.

A glimpse into Freyja’s garden with the Pink Fairy (named Rosemarie), the baby Wolpertinger (affectionately called Fritz), the Hyōsube in her miniature bathtub (now called Junko Akane), Freud the Dachshund, and a Mindanao Man-Eating Tree sapling obviously nicknamed Seymour.
The plants aside from Seymour are a tiny succulent, miniature apples (which Freyja calls “Idun’s Golden Apples”), a turnip, and a potted eggplant.

Freyja and Frl. Flicka; her husband Johannes Faustuz and other dog Freud in the end.
(Swipe right to see➡️)
-
“Flicka” is “Girl” in Freyja’s native Swedish, and she’s definitely Freyja’s girl. Faustuz and Cedrick refer to her as “Fräulein” as form of endearment - hence her full name Frl. Flicka “Miss Girl.”
-
Freyja adopted Frl. Flicka after attending a charity for military veterans; she was told that the dog was injured in combat and had trouble with finding a forever-home due to her aggressive behavior. Frl. Flicka immediately warmed up to Freyja and has always been super sweet around her and fellow creatures at the Kasper household.
Now revealing her true identity as a Hellhound, it makes sense why she wants to be part of the Kasper’s mythical menagerie.

Here’s my Necromancer Mage.
I’m done with #inktober2019.
À bientôt! Auf Wiedersehen! Bye~👋🏻
(No... No... Not really, lol.)
-
#inktober is a big challenge, and this year I’m not feeling like doing 31 of these kind of pics.
Obviously I’m skilled enough and capable of finishing a piece in a day, but to make a really good piece, it takes the whole day - if not more than a day (I spent maybe 12 hours total on this guy).
This was also done on a large 10.5”x15” piece of paper (approximately 27x38cm), so I don’t think having another 30 of these lying around in my apartment is very practical (that’s why I’ve enjoy doing stuff digitally or in sketchbooks).
I might make another traditional piece, but not anytime soon.

Whenever Cedrick takes his mother’s dog for a walk, he always gets tangled up in some kind of trouble - this time literally with Frl. Flicka’s leash.
-
Freyja adopted Frl. Flicka, being told that she was a former war dog who had trouble finding a forever-home due to her PTSD. She’s a sweet dog, thinking she’s a lapdog despite her size and loves giving kisses to her fellow pets/creatures. But she does get triggered when hearing loud noises, making her aggressive until she is presented some kind a treat to calm her down. She’s affectionate to Freyja, very obedient to Johannes Faustuz, and extremely rough with Cedrick.
Frl. Flicka has a bad habit of howling during the New Moon; with Halloween getting closer, she’s doing more unusual things like bringing in mauled rats, breath smelling like brimstone, and her eyes glowing red - all hints that she’s most likely a “Höllenhund”, or Hellhound, in the form of a Doberman.

Happy #nationalcoffeeday!
Why on September 29th?
No real reason - just an excuse to celebrate the dark liquid elixir that fuels human sanity and functionality.
☕️
And some people really take coffee seriously - like this guy.
Both Hr. Dr. Kaspers are lactose intolerant, but each one likes their coffee differently:
Johannes Faustuz like his coffee black with a maximum of two spoonfuls of sugar - no more, no less.
Cedrick likes his coffee sweet with milk alternatives such as soy, oat, and almond milk.
Like both Kaspers, I’m also lactose intolerant; I like my coffee iced either black with lots of simple syrup or get the flavored lattes with soy instead of whole milk (otherwise I just get iced tea/juice blends with boba).
-
So how do you like your coffee?
Do you even like coffee?

“Midnight Snack” is finished!
🦑
It’s a late night glimpse into the Kaspers’ kitchen this time.
There’s all kinds of stuff in there - let me know what’s your favorite item in their kitchen.
-
Poor Cedrick just wanted a Ruben sandwich and a juice box, but unbeknownst to him, his mother Freyja had stashed a fresh Kraken in the fridge for tomorrow night’s dinner.
Included in this pic are the Hyōsube they adopted from their last trip to Kiel, their orange Norwegian Forest Cat Klimt, and the mischievous Pink Fairy - all featured in previous pics I’ve drawn over the past couple of months (if not years).
-
I thought about having the tentacles animated, but after spending so much time drawing and coloring this, I opted to just add text and lines for actions like a comic with a few touches from #pixaloop in the second slide.
-
Which room will be next?
The living room?
The master bathroom?
Cedrick’s bedroom?
Etc.?
We shall see!🤗

Which lighting looks the best?
1, 2, 3, or 4?
(4 is the same as the one without characters sans Soft Light layer effects)
-
It’s Freyja and Johannes Faustuz’s bedroom.
Either they’re getting dressed up for the day or undressed for the night - you decide.😏
-
Originally I planned on using a reddish-brown for the line art, but the blue just adds the right amount of pop for the details.
And of course I had fun with the Soft Light layerings - thus I have a hard time choosing which one to put first on the post.
I’ll have the full versions up on my Highlights since the original isn’t square format.
