Like his mother Sigrid, Hr. Dr. Kasper has a green thumb and enjoys being around plants whenever he’s feeling stressed.
Most of the plants he grows on his own are placed in “The Doghouse”, an indoor patio section of the family house in California where Freud the Dachshund is mostly kept in to keep out of the backyard where he likes digging up Freyja’s garden and chasing other creatures.

#sketchdump - just testing out the color palettes I made for skin and hair tones since Autodesk Sketchbook
updated on my iPad.
I still struggle a bit with skin tones, especially dark ones (medium skin tones are the easiest; fair skin tones can be tricky because if it’s too dark it pretty much becomes medium skin).
As for hair tones, blond and grey hair are actually the hardest for me - dark hair like Tricia’s are the most easiest to color.
So to say which OCs were the easiest to draw here?
That’ll be Sigrid, Freyja, Kimiko, Vincent-Claude, and others with similar coloring (Freyja is also fun to draw realistically because she has freckles; Cedrick is still by far the easiest OC to draw based on design).

It’s been ages since I’ve drawn a fantasy version of any of the Kaspers; of the three, Cedrick’s design is the simplest to draw, but also possibly the most controversial because he has a white imperial naval uniform.
Comment below if you want me to draw his parents next (Freyja’s design is the most elaborate; Faustuz’s look always changes slightly each time I draw his fantasy design).

Just wanted to see if I could make something that looks like a retro anime from the 1980s using these two OCs from that time frame.
The greenhouse background is a bit sloppy, proof that I get tired and lazy after a long time.💩
I changed Richard’s face a bit to make him look at his feline-lookalike, and people voted for Sigrid to hold Odin instead of Hedy (Hedy [the black cat] version is the 5th slide).

Richard Kasper with Hedy and Odin’s last litter of kittens Balder, Thor, and Loki.
Hedy was named after the actress for her dark hair, while Odin was named after the Kaspers’ “Odin’s Eye” ability expressed as Heterochromia; each of their kittens were named after Norse gods based on their looks - the orange one is Thor, the grey one is Loki, and the white one is Balder.

As a Grim Reaper/Death, Richard normally isn’t fond of cats having extra lives and often chasing souls away like balls of yarn; but because he’s the incarnation of Death, cats are naturally drawn to him.
Since his girlfriend Sigrid loves cats, Richard’s learned to tolerate them over time - even to the point he lets them sit on him (Hedy actually gave birth to her first litter on his lap).

Still alive.
Been busy driving and working, only to drop straight into bed at the end of the day to wake up early and start the cycle all over again.
For one day just to stay awake for work, I had a whole can of V8 Energy drink, a large cup of iced coffee latte, and over half a can of Mountain Dew Rise with occasional walks around the work compound.

This guy looks ready to snap his fingers like Thanos with all his rings on, lol.
Besides liking them, he actually has a reason for wearing rings and bracelets (he normally can’t wear them while working at the hospital as a surgeon, but he can when he’s being a substitute professor).
Each piece of jewelry is made of certain metals and gemstones he switches out based off of what mythical being or wandering soul he encounters for extra protection.

Maybe he’s telling her about Wikipedia barely being a thing when he was a freshman so he still had to rely on physical encyclopedias and archive cards for information, revealing that he’s actually a Millennial (Tricia had always called him a Boomer since his hair is so light that it looks white, assuming he’s much older than he is).
📝PERSONAL NOTE:
Wikipedia is a great resource to find other documentation for research papers, but not for direct citation (because a lot of articles often have uncertified info); an amazing research resource is EBSCOhost, which was my favorite when I had to write papers.

Death Himself (formerly Richard Kasper) keeping a close eye on his son Hr. Dr. Kasper.

Death keeps his wife Sigrid, brother Heinrich, and other beloved people’s souls over his many lifetimes nearby for company.
Death mostly stays underground communicating telepathically to Grim Reapers, but occasionally he’ll pop up above ground wearing his black robe to personally deliver case files or join in the fight for a little fun.
It took a few years for Johannes Faustuz to figure out that his father was Death all along, making him very spiteful.
Faustuz felt like he was abandoned as a child when Richard couldn’t remain “human” without losing chunks of flesh and coughing out bodily fluids - thus Richard “died” when he finally hid away and left his son with his brother Heinrich and sister-in-law Yoko.

Hr. Dr. Kasper’s oldest cousin Hansel was born in 1973, also the Year of the Ox.
He’s a hard-working guy with a cheeky and stubborn personality who can also get a bit competitive with his siblings - especially Johannes Faustuz since he was the other boy in the family (he’s brutal with teasing Faustuz - 2nd slide).
Since he’s the oldest, Hansel claims himself to be in charge of the trio and Yoko’s favorite child (Yoko is actually the most frustrated with him, making Hannah the favorite of her two biological children; as for her favorite child, she hates to admit it but it’s Faustuz).
He has terrible luck with women due to his wandering heart and busy work schedule (married and divorced three times with two adult daughters), but still devotes himself for family by all means - even if his exes and children don’t want anything to do with him.
Hansel has been jealous of his cousin Faustuz for many reasons (his height, being married to the same woman for decades, having a son, etc.), but mostly because Faustuz is the future patriarch of the Kasper Family after their grandfather Olafur.
But at the same time he’s supportive and relieved to not be burdened with such a responsibility despite being a natural hardworking man (Hansel doesn’t have “Odin’s Eye” because he doesn’t have blue eyes - he’s half-Japanese).

Whenever Faustuz is home at Kiel and working at the local hospital there, Hansel is his nurse - adding more to the family rivalry between the two.

💀 Grim Reaper Notes 💀
As Halloween gets closer, more rogue monsters and lost souls are more abound as the boundaries between the living and dead are weakened due to the waning hours of sunlight, making it a more busy time for Reapers - often times (depending on regional holidays) Reapers may ask for extra help.
When Reapers are relocated outside their country of origin, it’s customary to wear traditional clothing to show that they aren’t native and are only allowed to work under the authority of the regional Reaper family in charge (if they’re back in Kiel where they’re from, the Kaspers wear exclusively modern Reaper clothing; occasionally they wear highly modernized versions of their traditional clothing to accommodate the hot weather in California).
The Kaspers are normally based in Germany/Scandinavia, but due to medical work they are often relocated in Southern California where another Reaper family is based.
The Rodriguez Family are often swamped during Halloween/Dia de Los Muertos, especially with their oldest daughter Granger as their current sole Reaper (Mrs. Rodriguez injured her leg after fighting a rogue jaguar spirit, while second daughter Carmen hates being a Junior Reaper under her sister, often hanging out with BFF Tricia Williams instead); because California used to be Spanish territory, it follows the logic that many countries with Latin/Romance/Slavic-based languages have female Reapers because the word “Death” is feminine and/or their Death goddesses are referred to as female.
Despite Hr. Dr. Kasper having a direct connection with Death Himself and being more experienced as a Reaper, Granger always takes the opportunity to take charge and call him “Juanito” (vaguely translates into “Cute Little Johnny” in Spanish; his first name “Johannes” is an old version of the common name “John”) whenever they work together.

I still haven’t featured Granger Rodriguez in a story yet, but she’s a Mexican-American Grim Reaper whose day job is a police officer stationed nearby the hospital where Hr. Dr. Kasper would normally work in Los Angeles.
She’s very territorial, so seeing a foreigner descended from Death’s top Grim Reapers in “her turf” has made her even more competitive and aggressive when collecting souls and hunting rogue creatures.
In the rare occasions the two have to work together, Granger calls Hr. Dr. Kasper “Juanito” as a sarcastic form of endearment (“Juanito” is like the Spanish version of “Johnny-boy”; his first name “Johannes” is an old Scandinavian-Germanic version of “John”).
Like Asia Williams, Granger is a big fan of Freyja Ström’s show and blogs who’s also oblivious to the fact that she’s married to Hr. Dr. Kasper.
