No deadlines. All entries will be featured as a story highlight. Feel free to look through my account for references.
I await to see how you draw/color my OC Cedrick Kasper as a Necromancer Mage.
💀
(sadly, I don’t expect much interest and attention from this)
-
It’s the Kasper Fantasy Concept this time with Cedrick wearing his skull mask.
Every Kasper Necromancer Mage has a skull mask they wear when performing rituals and spells. Cedrick’s mask resembles a goat/ram skull; his father Faustuz’s skull mask is that of a bird while his grandfather Richard/Death’s mask is a horse’s skull. Cedrick’s mask also has a crown indicating that he’s a prince since he’s the child of Princess Freyja and grandson of the Warrior King Erik Ström.

It looks like an older Cedrick at first glance, but it’s actually a younger version of his grandfather Erik Ström (that glare is what gives it away - see last slide).
Also, Cedrick hates wearing formal wear - he sticks to wearing his medical scrubs or activewear 99% of the time (the other 1% are stuff like denim jeans and casual fashion).
-
The Kaspers are known for their “Death Glare,” but the Ströms have their own “Stern Glare” when they narrow their eyes and fixate them on their target (the “Death Glare” is when a Kasper has their eyes wide open with rage with either a frown or a crazed smile).

Circa 1992 when Johannes Faustuz meets his future wife Freyja, a foreign exchange student from Sweden.
At age 10, Freyja was a lot taller than Faustuz even though he’s older by six months; this will be the case until they’re 13 when he starts getting much taller than her.
-
They first formally meet in the library where his aunt Yoko works. Freyja was looking for old English literature books, but noticed several fairies flying around; she follows them to see a boy she recognizes from her class reading a large stack of books on mythical creatures, mythology, biology, and science fiction. Freyja confronts Faustuz about the fairies and books, learning that he’s a Kasper, a family like hers familiar with everything mysterious and mythical. Because of their shared history and interests, the two become very close over the years despite not being able to be together all the time.

Uncle Heinrich with Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz circa 1983-84. This was about one year after Johannes Faustuz was adopted by his uncle after his father Richard died overseas in Africa due to mysterious causes.
All grown up, his cousins constantly remark how much he looks like their father (both Heinrich and Richard look alike with blond hair, odd-eyes, and glasses - except Richard was taller and didn’t smoke).

Luckily Freyja wasn’t there to hear that - she’s a very jealous woman.
-
Hyōsube is coming to Los Angeles with Papa Kasper and Cedrick while the Kappas will stay in Kiel.
Johannes Faustuz will build her a special home consisting of a miniature bathtub and a patch of various types of eggplants in his wife’s garden.
Cedrick is a bit disappointed not having the Kappas, especially the baby, but they’re still able to visit the family estate in a future trip.

The Kasper Family at an earlier time when Cedrick was a lot shorter and Johannes Faustuz had short hair; Freyja hasn’t changed much since except how she styles her hair. This would probably be when Cedrick was about 10 years old.
(Faustuz was born in 23 December 1981; Freyja was born 30 June 1982; I still haven’t decided whether Cedrick will be born in 2006 or 2017 since those are the two most recent times October Friday the 13th had occurred)
-
The colors I picked for this pic screams Fall, but the weather here in SoCal screams Summer - it’s been super hot the last several days.🥵🌡
Cedrick’s sweater has each of his parents’ family symbols: the Kaspers’ black skull and the Ströms’ spiral. Freyja’s outfit was based off a sold-out piece of clothing according to a fashion article (see 4th slide), while Faustuz just wears a basic collared shirt and slacks with typical aviator-framed glasses (reference last slide); both Freyja and Faustuz are wearing wedding rings this time.

Aunt Yoko was right - Cedrick kinda does look like a Kappa with that bowl haircut.😆
Baby Kappa just wants to be cuddled by someone who somewhat looks like his papa.
-
It’s a different style, a colored sketchy drawing instead of the colored inked and halftone pics I’ve been making.

This is what happens when I get too focused - I stay up way too late drawing something fancy on my iPad Pro.😴
-
It’s another pic of Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper and his wife Freyja Ström.👱🏻♂️👩🏻🦰
These are the kind of pics I really enjoy drawing the most: OCs wearing minimal fashionable clothing with halftone and patterns. I really enjoy color, but sometimes I just want to go plain black and white.🖤

These two lovebirds again.
With their respective careers/assignments and raising a son, Freyja and Johannes Faustuz hardly ever have time for each other; if they’re lucky, they get to work together in getting rid of rouge creatures or collecting cursed items.
-
I originally started this as a crappy pencil sketch in my mini sketchbook at work, but using it as a base, I finished it up on my iPad Pro at home.
But I should really try to get the Yōkai Project finished before Inktober creeps up - I’m still figuring out my prompt for this year. I’m really getting distracted and lazy, lol.

Which one do you like: 1 or 2?
Also, which sportswear brand is your favorite?
Comment below.🖤
-
Just felt like drawing something black and white, and I really went literal with black and white...🤦🏻♀️
I ended up with these two teenage OCs in sportswear based from their home countries (Cedrick is German; Tricia is American).

Another Cedrick pic.🤦🏼♂️
With a cup of coffee.☕️
Just like the last one.😑
But why is he in Kiel when he’s supposed to be taking care of his father’s work? Johannes Faustuz is going to be shocked seeing both his son and father-in-law show up at the Kasper Manor.

I included the line art for anyone who wants to color it in - tag it #frauv8colorthisin @frauv8
If anyone is feeling ambitious, you can do this as a #dtiys; if so, tag #frauv8drawthisinyourstyle @frauv8

A rare work drawing I made yesterday. It’s been a long time using markers, but it looks like I’m still able to blend my inks well.
-
It was supposed to be a younger Johannes Faustuz, but it ended up being an older Cedrick.😛
In my original concept made back in 2005-2006, Cedrick was supposed to be in his 20s; my current project has him at age 15-16.

The Garappa finally reveals herself to the Kasper Siblings - and she’s so adorable with her big eyes and round belly ready to pop.
-
The Kappa and Garappa are mates expecting their first egg. In their case, a male offspring will be a Kappa, while a female will be a Garappa.
I’ll have another “Wunderkind’s Notes” regarding how Kappa/Garappa pairings work.

Kappas love cucumbers, but as a little boy, Johannes Faustuz was only able to get jars of pickles to feed the one living in his uncle’s garden. Pickles are still cucumbers, just... well, pickled; the Kappa is more than happy to eat them regardless whether they are fresh or preserved.
-
It’s also another shot in making a #drawthisinyourstylechallenge.
My challenges don’t get any attention, so I don’t expect much tbh...🤷🏻♀️
I included the #lineart if anyone wants to do a #colorthisinyourstyle instead (use #ctiys_frauv8 if you do color).
No deadlines, and (if any) entries will be featured on a highlight on my profile. Just have fun.🥒

A very grumpy Tante Yoko makes her appearance with few of the Yōkai suddenly appearing at the family’s home.
-
It’s no surprise where Johannes Faustuz, as well as Hannah, gets the strict, stoic, and serious attitude from.

The dreaded flight across the Atlantic with a kid kicking the back of his seat, a sick passenger in front, and airplane seating more cramped than ever before.
It doesn’t help being very tall either (Johannes Faustuz is 195cm/approximately 6’4”-6’5”).
-
What’s the longest you’ve flown by plane?
Longest flight I’ve been on was 18 hours straight across the Pacific to the Philippines - with turbulence since it’s flying against the jet stream.🤢

Awww...
Poor Cedrick hates being apart from his father; he also wants to go back home to Kiel where it’s not as hot as Los Angeles in the summer.
(I’m the same way - I miss the cool coastal weather in Port Hueneme where I lived as a kid; anything above 85F/30C is stupid hot)
After flying six hours to New York, then another eight hours to Frankfurt, Papa Kasper will be meeting up with his cousins Hansel and Hannah.

Which background color you like best on Cedrick and his father Johannes Faustuz?
❤️💙💛
Comment below!🤗
-
I ended up with red, though I really like blue just as much since it really contrasts with the Kaspers’ blond hair; red just draws you in like a hummingbird.
Yellow is nice being monochromatic, but it’s a bit too plain and their eyes stand out too much - I’d have to desaturate them into more of a grey-green color.
