“Wunderkind’s Notes” on the Yōkai Cousins that will be featured: the Kappa, the Garappa, and the Hyōsube. There’s also a cute comparison to the the Kasper Cousins with the Yōkai, and Aunt Yoko being blunt in regards to Cedrick’s current bowl-cut hairstyle (Papa Kasper had the same hairstyle in the late 80s/early 90s). All three Yōkai are closely related based on behavior, but one doesn’t quite look like the rest - just like how Johannes Faustuz stands out from his cousins Hansel and Hannah. - For those who can’t read my cursive in regards to the Yōkai: “ KAPPA •Likes cucumbers 🥒 •All male •Lives in ponds and rivers - GARAPPA •Likes soybeans and cucumbers •Male or female •Lives in lakes, ponds, rivers, oceans - HYŌSUBE •Likes eggplants 🍆 •Mostly male; females rare •Lives in ponds and rivers “ — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #autodesksketchbook #drawing #sketches #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #yokai #kappa #garappa #hyosobe

Happy #nationalicecreamday! Here’s a scribble of Papa Kasper with Fräulein Flicka, followed by a drawing of Cedrick from last year. - Ice cream is one of my favorite things to eat, but it’s very bad for the waistline and tummy due to lactose intolerance. 🍨🍦🍧 - I’m still alive - just been super crazy busy with work and dealing with a car accident (my fault hitting a parked car; nobody was hurt). I’ll work on my current story regarding Tante Yoko’s Yōkai once I’m not so bogged down with life and get some needed rest (I’ve been working since July 12th, and the 21st is the last day of this work period; each day I’ve worked at least 8 hours, so I’m mentally exhausted). - This pic will eventually go to the archives, so save it if you like it. — #digitalsketch #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #icecream #man #dog

With everything going back to the 1990s these days, let’s go back when Johannes Faustuz was a cute little nine-going-on-ten-year-old. - Faustuz was raised by his uncle Heinrich and aunt Yoko since he was orphaned as an infant (both parents died on a trip to Africa “on a mission to cure illnesses”; it’s still a mystery how and what killed them). He has two older cousins named Hansel(Hanzo🇯🇵) and Hannah(Hana🇯🇵); Hansel is eight years older while Hannah is six years older. His cousins are half Japanese, making him physically stand out from his adoptive siblings. All three children have similar names (Hansel, Hannah, Johannes Faustuz), making many people say that there’s “too many Hans in the Kasper family.” Unfortunately Uncle Heinrich passed on from lung cancer when Faustuz was almost eleven, making times hard for the family when Hansel just started college and Hannah often running away with her boyfriend. This was also when Faustuz first meets Freyja Ström, a foreign exchange student from Sweden who will eventually become his wife. - I’ll have a story sometime with yokai in the near future featuring the Herr Doktor’s extended family members since they’re Japanese. But which yokai...? I’ll look one up that’d be fun for all three cousins and elderly Aunt Yoko to deal with. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #family #1990s #frauv8_ocs

The fairy explains all - she let the wolpertingers in Freyja’s garden, lying to them that there’s turnips for them to eat. Now they need to figure out where to get turnips, and rescue the Herr Doktor before he gets stomped out of existence - unless he’s figured out something to divert Mama Wolpertinger’s wrath for a while. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #fairy #motherson #animestyle #mangastyle #comic

The pink fairy next to the Herr Doktor’s shattered glasses. - She’s one little vengeful sprite towards the Kaspers after being attacked by the family cat; her wings have cutout scars as a result from the surgery to preserve her ability to fly. Also as a fairy, she enjoys causing trouble and watching the chaos in action. But if she’s not careful, she’ll get caught up with the commotion. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #lineart #glasses #fairy #mythologicalcreature #orange #pink #cyan

The fairy returns!🧚‍♀️ (reminder on the second slide) The fairy was almost killed by Klimt the Weegie, so she still has a grudge towards the Kaspers despite being revived and stitched together by Cedrick. - So does Freyja have any turnips in her garden? No, she doesn’t. The fairy has plotted her revenge. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #wolpertinger #manga #comic #mangastyle #animestyle #mythologicalcreatures

But which one? Beetle or the camper van? Perhaps the next “Wunderkind’s Notes” will clarify how big Mama Wolpertinger is in comparison to Papa Kasper. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #motherson #animestyle #mangastyle #comic

Different art stages of this pic of Cedrick and Klimt. - It wouldn’t be Cedrick if he doesn’t have something that’s mismatched - this case his socks are opposite colors. His oversized sweatshirt also has the symbol of the black skull, the Kasper family’s emblem in the fantasy concept. - The color scheme has an earthy vibe, so nothing too vibrant aside from the expression notations and text. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #lineart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #originalcharacterdrawing #malecharacter #teenageboy #cat #pottedplants #animestyle

I did some coloring and adjusting to the original line art (last slide shows original expressions). Pretty amazing what slight redrawing of mouths can do.😬 - All three Kaspers together looking over the miniature apples Freyja bred herself; she calls them “Idun’s Golden Apples.” It’s not known whether these apples really preserve one’s youth or keeps doctors away. (Cedrick and Johannes Faustuz are both doctors; would that mean apples to them are like garlic to vampires?🤣) - Anyway, some sleep and after one more day of work, I’ll try to get the next page done. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #lineart #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #originalcharacterdrawing #malecharacters #femalecharacter #autodesksketchbook #family #fathermotherson #pottedplant #animestyle #frauv8_ocs

Cedrick’s notes on mythological bunnies. - Comparing the three species (technically two since Papa Kasper mentioned Skvaders weren’t real), it’s easy to see how people get them confused. Then there’s horned-birds like Elwetritschen about the same size as these bunnies that can add to the confusion. - Kudos to anyone who knows the inspiration of the last line in the bottom (wink wink, nudge nudge). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #notes #autodesksketchbook #mythologicalcreatures #skvader #wolpertinger #raurackl #jackalope #rasselbock

It’s a remake of a pic of Vincent-Claude I made almost a decade ago; obviously it’s not as detailed or painted like the original (seriously - I don’t have the patience to digitally paint as much as I used to). It’s another #drawthisinyourstyle challenge - this one by @luxyscarlet. #drawthisluxy Totally loved the color scheme and anime look, so I really wanted to do it. J’espere que tu aime? (I know I’m missing accents and it’s probably written wrong - it’s been over a decade since I’ve spoke any good French. Je desole!😭) - Anyway, let me know which #dtiys challenge I should try next in a comment below. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #mangastyle #animestyle #femalecharacter #characterart #girl #cherry #cerise #white #red #cyan

It’s another #drawthisinyourstyle pic - this challenge is by @kurboi. #kurboi50k I try to stay away from super popular ones for less popular ones to support lesser known artists, but the color scheme... couldn’t resist it. It’s not as refined as my other pics, but it is was it is - a sketchy tablet drawing. - Let me know what other #dtiys challenges I should try - including your own. 🤗 — #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #femalecharacter #yellow #red #blue #kurboi

And the fairy is still pissed. Doesn’t help with Freyja calling her a cute little “Butterfly” instead of a fairy (“Schmettering” is one of my all-time favorite foreign words, along with “Pamplemousse” and “Yume”). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #femalecharacter #woman #fairy #pink #green #orangeyellow

The fairy will be alright. Obviously she’s really pissed that she was randomly caught by a huge fluffy orange cat (last slide is a reminder). And the poor thing is covered with bandaids and gauzes - Cedrick only has human-sized items to fix her. - They look cute, but fairies aren’t usually liked by the Kaspers; they annoyingly enjoy peeping at Johannes Faustuz and Freyja at night, make really loud cries of attention (think Zelda games), and leave unwanted fairy rings (mushrooms) on their yard and garden. Fairies also don’t like being held by human hands - thus they really bite hard. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #doctor #fairy #labcoat #blond #bowlcut #yellow #teal #white

Page 20 is finally done! Now I need to wrap it up with a couple more pages...😩 At least after the arrow shot, another “Wunderkind Notes”, Kimiko waking up in Vincent-Claude’s arms, and Tyrone dropping by to pick up his daughter and niece with a souvenir from his trip with his wife Asia. So at least 5 more?🤷🏻‍♀️ — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #waiter #femalecharacter #woman #bowandarrow #mermay2019 #mermay

Not so fast~💨 All those years of Hannah (Hana) forcing Johannes Faustuz to do her calligraphy homework has. finally paid off (Hannah is one of his two older cousins who are half-Japanese). - Hr. Dr. Kasper placed a talisman on the door to keep the mermaid from escaping this time. She didn’t get zapped going in the restaurant because Vincent-Claude was a gentleman holding the door open for her. - Things are wrapping up as MerMay ends...
