#inktober #flower pic no.26 - #hibiscus - The state flower of Hawaii and national flower of Haiti, this tropical flower comes in red, yellow, pink, purple, and white. They are used in herbal tea and food flavoring, not just as gardening plants. The hibiscus gets it name from an Ancient Greek derived name of a Roman botanist and doctor. This flower symbolizes delicate feminine beauty, fleeting glory and fame, young women, and the qualities of the perfect wife. - With the flower of feminine beauty and wives, it’s Asia and Freyja again. These ladies have grace, beauty, wits, and lots of attitude to share. - This pic was digitally inked and colored with #autodesksketchbook this time. It’s in the grey area whether I think counts for Inktober, but the #digitalink brushwork does resemble actual #ink, so I guess it’s a pass. - 5 more to go~ With some extras too, lol. — #inktober2018 #originalcharacters #femalecharacters #women #redflowers #digitalart #digitalartwork #digitalcoloring #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pencil #mechanicpencil

#originalcharacter 3️⃣: Freyja Ström (middle name is Avis) She fulfills tropes as the hot wife of a nerdy guy, being a hot momma of a teenage son, and being a terrible cook despite being the most kind and loving wife/mother/friend/neighbor there is. Just stay away when she prepares her “Kraken Suppe” if you value your life - both Kasper men bear scars from her signature dish (physical and psychological). - Fun Note: “Ström” translates into many things in Swedish relating to water, air, and electricity such as “Stream,” “Current,” and “Storm.” Also, my grandmother’s maiden name is Ström. So in a way, Freyja is a tribute to my grandma and part of my heritage. (I’m a 1/4 Swede 🇸🇪) - So which character is next? #inktober #flower pic no.25 - #aster - From Greek meaning “Star” and also known as #starwort, these flowers are very similar to the daisy. They come in white, pink, blue, violet, lavender, and red with yellow centers. Asters are believed to be enchanted blossoms, used as a love talisman and burned for protection. They symbolize patience and wisdom; they are the birth flower for the month of September and are given for couples’ 20th wedding anniversary. - I decided to go a bit more digital on this pic after inking it (like what I did with no.4 and no.19). - Freyja was used for Daisy, so Faustuz as a necromancer mage was the obvious choice for Aster. Mages are often regarded as wise and healing in the fantasy world regardless of what kind they are; being a necromancer mage allows Faustuz to not only cure ailments but also to bring the dead back to life abet they haven’t been killed or dead longer than a day. He can also summon Death, but at a cost of something precious. — #inktober2018 #inkdrawing #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #sepiaink #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #digitalcoloring #digitalcolouring #digitalart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #malecharacter #blond #longhair #flowers

#inktober #flower pic no.24 - #statice - Also called #sealavender, #caspia, #marshrosemary, and #everlastingflower, these flowers are often dried and used for decoration. They commonly come in shades of purple, blue, yellow, white, and pink, and have a papery texture to them. Because of their ability to preserve well, statice is a flower for remembrance and sympathy. - A quick one this time, almost like a watercolor pen drawing but with cheap alcohol markers. I really had a hard time figuring out what to do with stock and statice - they’re both similar in use as filler flowers in bouquets, but definitely not the same in meaning when you give it to someone. Perhaps my next flower pic won’t be so plain and thoughtless. 😑 — #inktober2018 #ink #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #pen #pencil #markers #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #crayolamarkers #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #purpleflowers

#inktober #flower pic no.22 - #stock - Comes mainly in shades of white, pink, red, yellow, orange, blue, and lilac, these flowers are know for their simple beauty and spicy fragrance. They’re used as filler flowers in bouquets, and the double flower variety is highly desired in gardens for their abundant amount of petals. These flowers represent the simple beauty of life and having a content existence. Stock is also edible as a salad garnish due to being related to broccoli. - I’m finally caught up with my prompt! #inktober #flower pic no.21 - #magnolia - A large blossom native to Asia that was brought to the Americas, it is named after a French botanist. This flower comes in shades of white, pink, yellow, and purple. It stands for beauty, poise, dignity, self-respect, nobility, pride, and love for the natural. In the United States, it is associated with the South, and is a popular bridal flower in bouquets. - This time it’s Asia Williams, Tyrone’s wife. She and Tyrone are both from Houston, Texas which has a historic nickname of “Magnolia City” when magnolia forests used to grow naturally. Asia is a very prideful woman with strong opinions, which gets her both admiration and hate from people. — #inktober2018 #blackink #ink #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #penart #pens #lependrawing #pentelbrushpen #kuretakebrushpen #pencil #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #originalcharacter #femalecharacter

#inktober #flower pic no.20 - #marigold - Know as “Herbs of the Sun,” these flowers only bloom when the sun is up in the sky. They represent bravery like that of a roaring lion, passion like the blazing sun, and creativity when the mind is enlightened; they can also represent cruelty, jealousy, and grief. They are used in Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebrations to guide the spirits to their alters and families (think of the movie ‘COCO’). — This time it’s Granger Rodriguez and her younger siblings Carmen and Tobias amongst a bunch of marigolds, also known as “flowers of the dead.” Tobias holds a sugar skull in his hand which are often brightly colored and decorated. Dia de los Muertos is usually celebrated from Halloween into the day after All Saints Day. — #inktober2018 #ink #sepiaink #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #pen #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #zebramildliner #crayolamarkers #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #originalcharacters #siblings #flowers #dayofthedead #diadelosmuertos

#originalcharacter 4️⃣: Vincent-Claude DeValeur (sometimes it’s spelled DeValuer) He has his hair up in a #manbun and loves to #smoke a #cigarette when he’s relaxing. Still not sure what his blood type would be, but most likely it’ll be B. Fun Note: Both “De Valeur” and “De Valuer” translates to “Valuable” in French. 🇫🇷 - I should get back to my Inktober flower prompt - I’m already 2 days behind! 😱 As for the next one of these, it’ll be original character 3️⃣: Freyja Ström. What determine the making of these? I asked which of the eight characters you liked in the last post, and I got only two responses. #inktober #flower pic no.19 - #camellia - Comes in red, pink, and white, these flowers represent the stages of love: ⚪️White is for the adoring love between mother and child. 💕Pink is for longing love as if you’re missing someone. ❤️Red is for desired, passionate love. Camellias are used in funerals, and are given for perfection, excellence, and good luck, especially white ones. Camellia also makes good tea from its leaves. - I used #autodesksketchbook and Facetune to clean up and color this pic in since it got a bit smeared when I was inking the initial pencil drawing.😑 - It’s Freyja bonding with her newborn son Cedrick as she’s recovering from surgery. She wasn’t happy at first when she found out she was expecting a baby boy instead of the baby girl she always imagined she would have to dress up and have follow in her footsteps. But when Faustuz suggested they could be having a little boy that looks just like her, she immediately decided she wanted a son that looks exactly like her husband instead. Once he was born, Freyja was extremely happy to see she got what she wanted - a little boy with the same blond hair and blue eyes like his father. — #inktober2018 #digitalcoloring #ipadproart #inkdrawing #pendrawing #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pentel #pentelpen #tradio #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #whiteflowers #originalcharacters #motherandson #motherson #motherbaby #motherchild #mother #son #baby #babyboy

It’s finally finished after being in the WIP folder for a long time. 🎉 And no matter how you look at it, there’s always a group of three matching in some way, lol. - Poor Cedrick is surrounded by his coworkers as he plays a virtual surgeon game - unless he’s actually operating with a game controller, lol. In their version of the world in the near future, the younger Hr. Dr. Kasper operates using virtual and augmented technology. Because he’s still considered a child at age 15-16, he can only operate under the supervision of his father and the director. Otherwise, Cedrick is either doing triage, lab work, or taking long naps in the office he shares with his father; if he’s not busy with work, then he helps tutor kids with homework and plays video games. Life as a wunderkind isn’t very much different from everyone else - just no more school as a kid and more work as if he’s an adult. - Top Left to Bottom Right: •Leyon DeValuer🇫🇷: hospital director/geneticist •Tyrone Williams🇺🇸: pediatrician •Johannes Faustuz Kasper🇩🇪: oncologist •Kimiko Abe🇯🇵: nurse •Cedrick Kasper🇩🇪: surgeon •Fatima Khan🇵🇰: cardiologist — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #doctors #frauv8_ocs

It’s #nationalbossesday today. If you have an awesome #boss, tell him/her thanks for an awesome job! 👏 - For my #originalcharacters who work at the hospital, the director Docteur Leyon DeValeur is their very enigmatic boss who appears when you least expect it. #inktober #flower pic no.18 - #lily - These flowers have a unique scent and come in multitudes of shades of white, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and red. These flowers symbolize the departure of the soul, humility, and innocence, and are a symbol for Easter and the Virgin Mary. These flowers are often used in funerals, and are given to couples on their 30th wedding anniversary. - Lilies are very poisonous to cats, causing kidney failure. #inktober #flower pic no.16 - #lotus - The flower of purity, rebirth, and eternity. It is the symbol of Hinduism and Buddhism with ties to reincarnation, spiritual growth, and enlightenment. It also represents a person’s journey in life, starting from being like a seed into a bud from the mud to a flower in bloom above the water and being able to see the sun. - I’m halfway through my prompt - yay! 🙌🏻 I’ll be cramming as many as I can the next few days since I’ll be busy with work again. Haven’t made anything digitally in a while - and the rain is keeping me up (it has been pouring with thunder and lightning in SoCal). - Anyway, it’s the 13th of October and it’s a special day - it’s my #originalcharacter Cedrick’s birthday! 🎉 He was born via emergency c-section, weighing at about 6 lbs (2.7 kg) and measuring a bit more than a foot (33 cm). His birth was damaging on Freyja, which is why he’s an only child; he was also born when Faustuz just started his career as a doctor, making it difficult for him to take care of his newborn son. But a surprise occurs: Freyja’s father Erik decides to make up with his daughter after finding out she had been in the hospital. - It’s not a very good #digitaldrawing, just something quick since I’m still working and I’m tired. — #digitalart #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #fatherson #father #babyboy #originalcharacters

#inktober #flower pic no.15 - #peony - A symbol of China and Japan, the Peony is a large and lush blossom the represents many good things: luck, prosperity, fortune, riches, romance, honor, compassion, and a long happy marriage; it also stands for bashfulness and shame. The flower gets it name from the Greek name Peaon, the student of the god of medicine; its petals are used in salads and drinks, and the roots are used in traditional Asian medicine. - Freyja was arranged to marry her father’s business partner Sigmund after graduating from high school, but Faustuz managed to get past security dressed as a server and object to the union. And many guests at the wedding were relieved someone had the guts to say something - they were also able to air out their objections, revealing Sigmund’s intentions to sell off the family company and the fact he had another affair on the side. The groom left threatening to sell off all his shares and create a rival company as Freyja’s father Erik stands ashamed for arranging his daughter to marry such a man. But not all was wasted and lost - Faustuz bends down on his knee and asks Freyja to marry him once more, fulfilling the promise they made to each other as children. Erik begins to object, only to be ignored by the priest and other guests excited to finally see the childhood sweethearts together. Despite being disowned by her father, many years working odd hours to pay off his student debt, and together having a wunderkind son who’s a handful, Freyja and Faustuz are still together as a couple. — #inktober2018 #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #couple #wedding #red #inkart #inkartwork #pendrawing #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pens #pentel #tradio #platinumpen #platinumpreppy

#inktober #flower pic no.14 - #pansy - The flower of remembrance, care, memory, and humility, its name comes from the French word “Pensée” which means “thought”. These flowers come many combinations of colors, and pansies are edible, used in salads and as garnishes. - It’s Vincent-Claude again, this time with a nice dress shirt and with his hair down. It’s pretty obvious why I picked him - the name “Pansy” comes from French, the character is French, and the pansies are tricolored like the French flag. — #inktober2018 #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #penart #pendrawing #pentelpen #tradio #pilotpen #fountainpen #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #markers #crayola #crayolamarkers #french #pensé #pensée #tricolor #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter

#inktober #flower pic no.11 - #morningglory - The flower of lovers, promises, and mortality, these flowers come in many shades of blue, purple, pink, and white. There’s another form of them called #moonflowers which bloom late at night. These flowers are given to couples on their 11th wedding anniversary, and are one of the flowers for the month of September. - It’s Freyja with her beloved Johannes Faustuz in their moment of morning glory. (*facepalms and groans*) The flower is named so for blooming late at night to early in the morning as the sun rises. The term, on the other hand, could be morning sex or something the male body does on its own... 😅 — #inktober2018 #inkart #inkartwork #copicpen #midliners #crayolamarker #mujimarkers #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #couple #kiss #lovers #blueflowers
