Everyone is constantly looking through windows to see if it’s safe to go outside - or if their orders from Amazon has arrived yet. — Papa Kasper is still furloughed, just waiting to get back to work once he gets the green light to operate again. Even how he dresses has become more like pajamas since he no longer goes outside for meetings, lectures, consultations, anything that requires wearing a tie. Freyja loves the fact that this is the longest he’s ever been home from “normal” work, Cedrick is worried about his father feeling useless when his ward had been overtaken by COVID-19 beds (why he’s furloughed), and Grandpa is not very happy being forced to have daily “quarantine talks” with his son-in-law. The only thing that stays the same is that all the creatures (mythical critters and pets) living in the house still beg for their food, get daily walks or play sessions, and love him unconditionally. - And much to his dismay, Death has been knocking on the Kaspers’ door more often with a long list of lost souls and spirits to collect. Luckily he has Cedrick to help him out this time, and in rare occasion they’ll encounter Officer Granger Rodriguez, another local Grim Reaper (I’ve drawn her before, but it’s been a long time since; I should make a character sheet about her with Hr. Rewinding back to July 1981 with Sigrid and Richard. No matter how much he turns on the charm, there’s no way in Hell she’s sharing her ice cream when baby cravings hit. - Both Richard and Sigrid wear aviators/glasses, which their son Johannes Faustuz also does. Sigrid is also wearing a green polka dot dress similar to what Princess Diana wore in the 1980s. Richard is wearing a T-shirt with a sailboat and “KIEL” on it, a nod to where the Kaspers come from and where usually in the end of June/early July a large gathering of boats occurs.⛵️ *** Once again, I’m hunkered down. Work has been canceled until the 24th due to a number of people who tested positive for COVID-19. As far as I know, I haven’t been exposed to anyone sick, but with those who tested positive at work being asymptomatic really makes me nervous. And of course I won’t qualify for a test because I don’t have the classic COVID-19 symptoms or had contact with any with symptoms (my allergies, on the other hand, have been driving me crazy). Finally finished this one - Yay!😄 I made the original sketch all the way back in early May; that’s like two months ago.😬 - Poor Cedrick has fallen victim to the “Lockdown” haircut by his mother Freyja; he normally gets a bowlcut/undercut with fade, but desperate times means a botched haircut that’s too short in the front and uneven in the back. Ragnar Axel Ström AGE: 45 D.O.B.: 22 April 1976 ZODIAC SIGNS: Taurus / Dragon BLOOD TYPE: A HEIGHT: 189cm / 6’2” - Ragnar is the oldest of the Ström nephews, the oldest son of Björn Ström (Erik’s second youngest brother, middle son of Aki). He takes after his uncle, but is much more soft-spoken and mindful of other’s emotions. Like Erik, Ragnar is skilled in blacksmithing; he’s in charge of manufacturing in STRÖM CORPORATIONS. 1993: Tyrone Williams Who knew he was such an adorkable kid? ❤️ Might draw kid Tyrone next to kid Johannes Faustuz, even though they wouldn’t have known each other until much later in life (they grew up in the 90s liking very similar things such as video games and toys). — As a kid with my family, I loved watching “Family Matters”, “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”, “Roseanne”, “Married With Children”, and “Home Improvement” (Yes, we also watched “Full House”, but it didn’t seem as interesting; my mom liked it because of the kids; “Friends” was also a show we didn’t watch much compared to “Seinfeld” and “Fraiser”) It’s all vague memories, but just a mention of some of TV characters like Steve Urkel just makes me smile because I do remember his funny voice, his silly antics, and “Did I do that?”😆 Obviously I was looking at Urkel as a source of inspiration for a kid Tyrone because I have a soft spot for dorky nerdy guys. Tyrone gave up the look as he grew up because of peer pressure to look more “hip and cool”, but away from others at home, he maintains his love for video games, toys, and TV shows (he still hasn’t told his work buddy Hr. Dr. Kasper about about his secret love of collecting Trolls and wearing glasses as a kid). Sadly it’s something a lot of people, especially minorities, battle with because being nerdy is associated with “not being part of the group”. It’s not so much of a thing for Asians because it’s expected to be smart (amongst friends I joked I’m half as smart since I’m only half Asian), and the White Nerd has been a stereotype for ages despite being mocked. 1979: Sigrid Faustus Hr. Dr. Kasper’s mother. There’s no question that he looks a lot like her, only with his father’s coloring. - Richard was a young traveling doctor who was known for being a notorious ladies man, always trying to woo a female to spend the night with - until he meets Sigrid at her mother’s flower shop in Denmark. He was immediately awestruck by her beauty, and did everything in his book to win her; to his dismay, she outright rejected every advance. Richard never had a woman ignore him before, making him even more determined and desperate to attract Sigrid every time he visited the flower shop. Sigrid was very much enamored with Richard’s looks and charm from the start, but she also knew of his promiscuous behavior and wanted him to stop so she can have him for herself. After a year of tormenting the poor man, Sigrid finally agreed to go out on a date with him; Richard was beyond ecstatic, constantly showering her with letters, gifts, and endless loyalty by marrying her. Less than a year later, they were expecting their first child. Richard was beyond proud when she gives birth to a healthy baby boy during the holiday season, but his joy quickly turned to despair when she suddenly dies from rapid blood loss; he named their son “Johannes Faustuz” as a reminder that he was a final gift and reminder of the woman who made him work hard for her love. Eh... Felt like making another one of these mock-up fashion magazine covers - this time with Papa Kasper (a.k.a. Mr. Ström). Got some Steve Jobs vibes with the black and glasses, lol. - He’s been in the background of Freyja’s live blogs from home, getting fans vocal on her social media to talk more about her husband. Freyja immediately got busy fixing up Johannes Faustuz by trimming his hair, powdering his face, and dressing him up in all black for a quick photo shoot to use in her May magazine issue. - Faustuz doesn’t mind getting involved with his wife’s work as long as it doesn’t get invasive and interferes with his own career - which is exactly why he uses his pseudonym “Jonah Fritz Ström” for these occasions. But Rufus McClaine, a photojournalist, is constantly trying to find out Mr. Ström’s true identity; from investigations he knows that Erik Ström never had a son, and that Freyja only has four male cousins, not five, she could of married - therefore Freyja is really Erik’s biological daughter, and she didn’t marry within the family but someone who’s of lower social class. - “DER MODISCHE” (“The Fashionable One”) is the name of Freyja’s magazine. It’s #internationalnursesday! Yay for nurses! - My grandma (Dad’s mom) was a nurse, and lots of aunties are/were nurses (I’m half Filipina; it’s a stereotype for Filipinos and other Asians to be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists but it’s so~ true😅). Despite having nurses on both sides of the family, I don’t have enough empathy and patience with people to be one (I’ve had people say I look like one, especially now with masks, headbands, and my oversized shirts and Adidas jerseys which resembles scrubs); if I had money for medical school, I’d probably be a geneticist, textbook illustrator, or maybe even a coroner or forensic anthropologist (I actually liked dissecting dead things and looking at bones; it’s sick living people that freak me out the most). - Nurses are often in the shadows of their doctor counterparts, but they’re often the ones doing all the grunt work and checking up on the patients, making them feel better and less afraid; nurses are also mostly female, making them super women. - Kimiko Abe is the Kaspers’ assigned nurse when they’re working in Los Angeles; when they’re back home in Kiel, it’s Hansel - making it a Kasper trifecta. Kimiko is petite, often tries pulling off work she’s not quite ready for, and gets so scared that she often hides behind Hr. Dr. Kasper, but she’s very compassionate and does everything she can to put smiles on patients’ faces. Hansel is quick jotting down data and so skilled at drawing blood that patients barely feel a thing; the only thing that gets on Hr. It’s #internationalnursesday! Yay for nurses! - My grandma (Dad’s mom) was a nurse, and lots of aunties are/were nurses (I’m half Filipina; it’s a stereotype for Filipinos and other Asians to be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists but it’s so~ true😅). Despite having nurses on both sides of the family, I don’t have enough empathy and patience with people to be one (I’ve had people say I look like one, especially now with masks, headbands, and my oversized shirts and Adidas jerseys which resembles scrubs); if I had money for medical school, I’d probably be a geneticist, textbook illustrator, or maybe even a coroner or forensic anthropologist (I actually liked dissecting dead things and looking at bones; it’s sick living people that freak me out the most). - Nurses are often in the shadows of their doctor counterparts, but they’re often the ones doing all the grunt work and checking up on the patients, making them feel better and less afraid; nurses are also mostly female, making them super women. - Kimiko Abe is the Kaspers’ assigned nurse when they’re working in Los Angeles; when they’re back home in Kiel, it’s Hansel - making it a Kasper trifecta. Kimiko is petite, often tries pulling off work she’s not quite ready for, and gets so scared that she often hides behind Hr. Dr. Kasper, but she’s very compassionate and does everything she can to put smiles on patients’ faces. Hansel is quick jotting down data and so skilled at drawing blood that patients barely feel a thing; the only thing that gets on Hr.
