Blinking with boba. If I had spent more time on him, I’d try animating the mouth too. - Haven’t been able to make much lately since I’ve been worn out from work, and really trying my best to not get sick (my boss was sick, and now my husband). It’s not a good time to not take care of yourself, so it’s wise to take it easy for now. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #animation #malecharacter #boy #drinking #boba #bobatea #frauv8_ocs

Kimiko Abe and Vincent-Claude DeValeur (old drawing from two years ago on 2nd slide). And 3 March is Kimiko’s birthday, so her admirer is extra cuddly this time. - Vinnie is a bit of a womanizer chasing after anything female, but by far, his biggest crush has been Kimiko; he adores her naive nature and finds her so cute that he can’t resist snatching her up in his arms. Poor Kimiko doesn’t know how to react to his advances, so she tries to run away and hide; it’s not really known whether she really does like him because she’s so skittish and shy. So are they or are they not a couple? Eh... Even I’m not sure, lol. But I’ve been told they look cute together, so perhaps they will be a couple. ——— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #blue #frauv8_ocs

Quick redraw of a pic I made two years ago (Freyja and Johannes Faustuz getting married). Might redraw it again and make it even better, lol. The original is cute and intimate while the quick redraw is cleaner and technical. OMG! He can talk! 😱 Well, not exactly because he doesn’t have a voice, lol. (imagine a guy with a strong German/Danish accent with Christoph Waltz’s voice - that’s how I always imagined Johannes Faustuz would sound like) - I’m just playing around with simple animation just to test myself (I never took 2D animation classes, btw), and I’m about ready to turn into a puddle of brain goo after making this. Don’t expect me to animate him performing a K-Pop dance, the Carmeldansen, or anything crazy like that next (I’m already crying tears of pain at the thought of it 😭). There’s a total of 12 pages of different facial movements to make this; I can only imagine how much more work there is to do when you include breathing, walking, writing, etc. besides basic talking and blinking in an animation. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #animation #malecharacter #man #doctor #doctorsoffice #frauv8_ocs

This actually happens quite often whenever the Kaspers go over for a visit to the Ström estate in Sweden. Papa Ström and Papa Kasper constantly fight each other to prove their worth, which scares off the four Ström nephews/cousins but infuriates Freyja (Cedrick, on the other hand, has fun watching his father and grandfather throw kicks and punches at each other). - Erik Ström never liked Johannes Faustuz ever since he first met him as a boy. He claims it’s because of the Kasper’s “diabolical” family history, low social class, and “impure” bloodline, but in reality, Papa Ström just doesn’t want to give his daughter to a man who is more capable than he is when it comes to killing rouge creatures. Erik also has some disappointment with his son-in-law choosing a career in the medical field instead of working for him at Ström Corporations. But one thing he does appreciate is that Faustuz is a man who willingly goes through Hell for the sake of family and friends. - Faustuz at first was frightened of Erik since he was obviously much bigger and was Freyja’s overprotective father. But as the years pass by, he looses respect for the older man as he increasingly becomes much taller and stronger. Faustuz also uses his brain to study up and train in the Kaspers’ secret business of cryptozoology, making it harder for Erik to ignore him whenever he needs assistance with his occult weaponry. After rescuing Freyja from an arranged marriage to a Bluebeard in disguise, and again saving her when she was pregnant with their son from a hungry Aswang, Faustuz finally had proven himself as a permanent asset to the Ström family. He appreciates his father-in-law’s old-school methods and unconditional love for Freyja and Cedrick, but he’ll never accept him as a role model as much as he does for Onkel Heinrich. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #fight #kick

Something fun this time with the kiddos: Tricia Williams and her little cousin Queenie with Cedrick Kasper. - People often assume Tricia and Cedrick are a couple, but they’re more like siblings who can’t stand each other after long periods of time; Tricia is almost 4 years older than Cedrick (she’s 18), so she doesn’t see him as a potential date but as a “dorky oversized kid”. Queenie will also become jealous seeing her older cousin always getting boba tea, frozen yogurt, and coffee every time she meets Cedrick for tutoring sessions, thus she often demands that she tags along just so she can get spoiled with treats. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacters #characterdesign #characterart #fashion #black #white #blackandwhite_art #blackandwhite #mangastyle #stripes #dots #halftone #frauv8_ocs

A nice early spring stroll around Kiel. It’s not often these three are home (their actual home, not Los Angeles) together as a family. - I made this pic pink like sakura blossoms blooming. (Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see them in my trip to Japan since it was December, but they had beautiful red maple leaves at the park, lol.) The coloring process was also inspired by Andy Warhol’s art on the last slide (he’s been a favorite since I was a kid; pop art and anime are my biggest influences). - As for both Kasper guys, I opted to not have glasses since I thought it would cover their faces with the pic being so small; look carefully, and they still have their odd-eyes at least. When it gets small, many details get lost in the whole, so keeping things minimal is best. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #lineart #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #characters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #mother #son #father #halftone #pink #blue #black #white

Papa Kasper enjoying another cup of coffee: hot, black, two spoonfuls of sugar, no milk or cream. He don’t do lattes or macchiatos because he’s lactose intolerant.☕️ As for tea, Johannes Faustuz is open to try anything ; his favorites are lingonberry, elderflower, rose, Earl Grey, and matcha green tea.🍵 - It’s a simple animated pic using iMovie. A short story: Asia Williams first meeting with “Dr. Jo-Hans Kasper”. I included closer looks at most of the panels without text, and an extra pic that I didn’t use for the short. And yes... it’s a mess... I’m not good making these short comics, but I make them to show some character relationships and if an idea for story pops up. - Asia is Tyrone’s lovely wife who often drops by the hospital to give her husband a homemade lunch (she doesn’t trust Tyrone eating lunch on his own due to his love for sweets). She works at her family’s hairdressing/nail salon/barber shop with her niece Tricia, but aspires to operate her own handmade jewelry shop. Asia is also a big fan of Freyja’s show on TV, dreaming of being a contestant just to get exposure for her art; she doesn’t knows that her husband’s coworker Johannes Faustuz is her idol’s husband (yet), and unfortunately she’s not fond of him for lots of reasons - mainly because she’s jealous of Tyrone spending more time with his “Work-Spouse” than with her. Perhaps an informal lunch date with the “other man” will cheer her up... — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #comic #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #frauv8_ocs

The Kaspers’ pets (not including the office aquarium fish, several test tubes of mutant fruit flies, a pink fairy, a pair of Wolpertingers, Hyōsube, and whatever creature that decides to stay with them indefinitely). Normally it’s Cedrick’s job to take care of the animals, but occasionally Papa Kasper steps up to wrangle up the pets - especially when it’s time to visit the Vet since Cedrick can’t drive yet, and Freyja is often away from home. - Each pet has a distinctive personality: •Freud the Dachshund is very snappy, often running off to dig up holes in the backyard; occasionally he wants cuddles and kisses, especially when he’s being punished for his behavior, and sticks around whenever someone is feeling sick or depressed. •Klimt the Norwegian Forest Cat isn’t a very smart cat - he’s was born the runt of the litter, always a bit slow and clumsy; he likes chirping like a bird and climbing up trees to the point either Cedrick or Faustuz has to climb up after him since he doesn’t know how to climb back down; Klimt also likes waking up his masters so he gets fed, swishing his fluffy tail in their faces while they eat breakfast before work. •Frl. Flicka the Doberman/Hellhound is the most energetic of the three, often wanting to play fetch with just about anything; she’s sensitive to loud popping sounds, making her aggressive and reenact her time as a war dog; after a long time of coaxing her with treats and gentle petting, she goes back into her lapdog mode and insists on sleeping with Mama and Papa for the night. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #pets #cat #dogs

“Fancy dinner and a hotel room” is Hr. Dr. Kasper’s motto when it comes to treating his wife Freyja, especially with their careers and side jobs consistently taking them apart. It’s also time together alone from their son Cedrick and numerous pets, giving them a chance to slow down and enjoy a good meal without someone or something taking it away. - I just kept everything simple, black and white set a sushi bar for this one - just the perfect setting for Valentine’s Day.💖 —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #pixaloop #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #couple #inlove #dinnerdate #blackandwhite #halftone #frauv8_ocs

Tante Yoko Kobayashi and Onkel Heinrich Kasper on their wedding day. ⛪️ These two met at a business meeting where Yoko was her father’s assistant and Heinrich was a businessman assigned to Hiroshima to setup a deal; though initially Yoko was at first cautious of Heinrich’s advances, they fell completely head-over-heels for each other and were married in months. Not long moving back to Kiel where Heinrich was from, Hansel was born, followed by Hannah two years later. - Despite their happy life together, Heinrich and Yoko maintained a strained relationship with the family’s patriarch Olaf who didn’t like the fact his son married a Japanese woman and had children who didn’t inherit the family’s heterochromia abilities. Times got harder when Heinrich’s younger brother Richard with his wife Sigrid suddenly died, leaving behind their infant son Johannes Faustuz in their care. Yoko didn’t want another child and insisted that he be raised by Olaf, but Heinrich retorted back that if he was raised by his father, he would be raised to become cruel and intolerant as he was. - Life continues for ten years before Heinrich becomes ill and dies from lung cancer, leaving Yoko inconsolable; her son Hansel had left for university, and her daughter Hannah ran away with her boyfriend, forcing her to re-examine her relationship with her nephew Faustuz. Eventually the family reunites; Yoko still doesn’t like Faustuz, more so as he resembles her husband as the years pass by, but her children have become close with their cousin and enjoy sharing memories with him. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #pixaloop #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #couple #inlove #wedding #frauv8_ocs

Digital version of the #pencilsketch of Cedrick and Klimt from last week (11JAN2020). - セドリック is “Cedrick” in Japanese (specifically written in Katakana; I looked it up). He’s obviously not Japanese, but he’s able to read some with his father’s aunt being Japanese (Johannes Faustuz is fluent in Japanese since he was raised by Tante Yoko and spoke it with his cousins Hansel and Hannah). - I’m thinking about drawing more pics like this with a touch of scribbled writing whether it’s in Japanese, English, German, whatever language that could give it an ascetic since full-page comics were voted unpopular in my feed. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characterart #character #malecharacter #boy #pet #cat #neoncolors

Dr. Kasper dresses this nice, but filling in as a substitute teacher for Prof. DeValeur at the university allows him to show off his presence in a more fashionable way besides stained lab coats, black scrubs, and wrinkled collared shirts with rolled-up slacks (also add the fact he’s 195cm/6’4”-5” tall). A quick colored #digitalsketch of Cedrick and Freud. As for what he’s holding, it could be a book, or based on it’s dimensions, it could be a VHS tape from his father’s archives (Papa Kasper is a Millennial, so he grew up in the 90s during the age of tapes and CDs). - Cedrick is mostly wearing retro 80-90s clothing that probably was once Johannes Faustuz’s and Hansel’s back in the day (most likely Hansel’s because Faustuz was forced to wear his older cousin’s clothes until he got too tall and wore his uncle’s old clothes). Freud doesn’t get as much attention compared to the other two pets (Klimt and Frl. Flicka), but it’s probably because he’s such a troublemaker digging up Freyja’s garden and steals sandwiches from plates, landing him in the covered outdoor area of the house called the “Doghouse” (it’s also where Faustuz sleeps when he’s not in good favors with his wife Freyja). He was originally Papa Olaf’s dog until he was first diagnosed with dementia; Aunt Yoko didn’t want to take care of a yapping puppy, Hansel and Hannah don’t have enough time or space to take him, leaving Faustuz the only relative able to care for Freud. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characterart #character #malecharacter #boy #pet #dog

Hr. Dr. Kasper looks like a mad scientist here.😈⚗️🧪 I might of also gotten a bit carried away with the neon colors, but meh - it’s what it is, lol. As usual, I added animated effects using the app Pixaloop. I also included the line art for anyone who wants to color it themselves (tag @frauv8 #frauv8colorthisin so I can find your work easily). - Johannes Faustuz has jars of bizarre specimens he has inherited and collected over the years displayed in his work office (Who can spot the Meerjunfrau?🧜🏼‍♀️). He’s also an avid collector of miscellaneous books and periodicals in English, German, and Japanese (sometimes Danish, though he’s not fluent) since he likes reading in his spare time when he’s not diagnosing diseases, performing operations, or traveling abroad tracking down and capturing/killing rogue mythical creatures. Somewhere amongst his books is a copy of Freyja’s fashion magazine - can you find it? - Faustuz has his hair up this time, and is wearing a bright green collared shirt paired with a magenta tie. He’s a man who likes being punctual and efficient thus he often wears high-end watches to make sure he’s always on time (his watch here is based off a NOMOS). As for his expression, perhaps a creature in human disguise just walked in? Both Faustuz and his son Cedrick give off the same crazed look whenever they sense a potentially dangerous creature nearby and want to catch it for “further research” (which usually means killing it and performing a vivisection). It’s not called “Kasper’s Death Glare” for no reason. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #neoncolors #malecharacter #man #books #specimen #animestyle #mangastyle #green # purple #frauv8_ocs #frauv8

Another simple color scheme pic with these two guys.🤦🏻‍♀️ I really need to find more challenging color schemes, lol. This one is basically hues of green, red, yellow with black line art and white accents for the eyes and lab coat. I kept the coloring flat since the line art is dark and quite bold. The line art style is a bit reminiscent of my inking with Sharpies back in 2006-07. I included both versions of the line art for coloring (just tag @frauv8 #colorthis_fv8). - The second version with Papa Kasper’s hair up was my final choice because it seems more balanced with the blank space (original version on last slide). No glasses for either one of them since the frames will interfere with the limited details on their faces, and the pic isn’t big and zoomed in. As usual, Cedrick has his mismatched scrubs and shoes (pink slipper on one foot, Adidas Superstar on the other) while his father Johannes Faustuz is in dark grey scrubs topped with a lab coat and wears Puma Suedes. Both father and son also have heterochromia, which is hard to see since their eyes are so light-colored (zoomed in slides might show it better). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #characterdesign #characterstudy #colorscheme #malecharacters #doctors #fatherson #frauv8_ocs #frauv8
