Finished! This is the first pic in my new #lemomesketchbook I ordered from Amazon not too long ago. I listed out all the media I used to make it on the opposite page so that it’ll lay flat as much as possible. And everything is so #blue, lol. - “ •Fantasy Concept: Papa Kasper (Faustuz) and Baby Cedrick. •The last known two necromancer mages; Faustuz is the patriarch of the Kasper Clan who is a master of magic and medicine, while Cedrick is closely following after his father’s steps. Cedrick is also a prodigy in casting elemental spells and the dark arts such as summoning monsters. Both have fierce appetites, often fighting each other for the best scraps of food whenever they forage at the swamp or forest. Father and Son are very close and would do anything to make sure the other is safe and sound after battle. ” — #ink #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #blueink #bluepencil #blueartwork #bluecolor #sketchbook #dottednotebook #lemome_notebooks #originalcharacters #fatherson #baby #mage #hat #plaguedoctormask #goggles #batwing

First #sketch in this new #lemomesketchbook I bought from Amazon. The paper is #dotted and almost as thick as card stock, which makes it ideal for ink work. I’d like it more if it had a table of contents like a Leuchtturm 1917 in the beginning so I can label and date pics as I make them, but I guess I’ll have to work something out. - It’s the Fantasy Concept this time with a very tired Papa Kasper and a very awake Baby Cedrick. I’m still figuring out how I’m going to ink this - I’m just mesmerized by how pretty the blue sketch turned out, lol.🔹🔷 — #bluepencil #bluepencilsketch #roughdrawing #roughsketch #pencilsketch #sketchbook #dottednotebook #lemome_notebooks #originalcharacters #fatherson #mage #baby #blue #hat #plaguedoctormask #goggles #batwing

#inktober #flower pic no.31 - #poinsettia - The birth flower of December, these flowers are also known as “Christmas Star,” “Mexican Flame Leaf,” and “Winter Rose.” It gets it name after the first American ambassador to Mexico who was also a botanist. The Poinsettia became associated with Christmas with a legend of a boy gathering weeds as a humble offering which turned into this colorful flower on Christmas Eve. This flower comes in white, pink, and red, and symbolizes celebration, good cheer, and success. - The second flower featured in this pic is #edelweiss. Edelweiß is a national symbol of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland where this rare beauty can be found. Its name means “noble” and “white,” and symbolizes purity, courage, adventure, devotion, and sacrifice. - I had to make Poinsettia and Edelweiss the last pic for my Inktober prompt because Christmas is coming soon, and these two flowers make me think of winter - though Edelweiss blooms late in summer 🤔 (it’s a fuzzy flower to keep itself warm, so that’s why it makes me think of winter). And we have Hr. Dr. Kasper all dressed up as if he’s attending an award ceremony or a special birthday/holiday dinner with his wife Freyja (his birthday is 23 December). — #inktober2018 #originalcharacter #malecharacter #blondhairblueeyes #glasses #flowers #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pens #kuretake #kuretakebrushpen #kuretakecambio #fountainpen #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #ohtodude #pentel #penteltradio #tradiopen #tradio #autodesksketchbook

#inktober #flower pic no.30 - #anthurium - A heart-shaped flower with many colors and variation in sizes, the name is derived from Greek; it translates to “Tail Flower” with its inner spadix being the reason. They are popular houseplants and decor for offices, making them very versatile and adaptable plants. The Anthurium represents hospitality, happiness, and prosperity - the perfect plant to give as a housewarming gift. - Again, a simple drawing this time. It’s a potted Anthurium in a plain home/office setting, the most common way this plant is displayed. — #inktober2018 #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pens #pentel #penteltradio #tradio #fountainpen #platinumpen #pilotmarkers #frixion #frixioncolors

#inktober #flower pic no.29 - #gladiolus / #gladioli - Known as “Sword Flowers,” Gladioli are old-fashioned flowers grown next to fences as backdrops for other garden flowers. They grow up in spikes up to 4ft. tall (about 125cm.), and come in a rainbow of colors. Because of its shape, this flower is associated with gladiators in ancient times. It stands for strength, honor, integrity, determination, and character - all traits to describe a warrior. The sword-shape is also believed to strike through the heart to directly send one’s love. - Nothing too special this time - just the flower drawn in #pink / #red #erasableink with a hint of Spiderman, a character with all the represented traits of the Gladiolus. — #gladiolusflower #inktober #inkart #inkdrawing #redink #blackink #pens #pilotfrixion #frixion #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #kuretake #kuretakebrushpen #kuretakecambio #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier

#inktober #flower pic no.28 - #meconopsis - An endangered species of flower with a rare sky-blue color with hints of mauve and pink, the Meconopsis is the national flower of Bhutan. It’s native to the Himalayas where it grows in high altitudes in cool weather; like Edelweiss, many seek to find this flower growing in its natural habitat. It is a species of #poppy, which stand for slumber, passion, and remembrance of those who served in the armed forces during war. - Just a simple #drawing with Cedrick. #inktober #flower pic no.27 - #carnation - One of the world’s most popular flowers, the carnation is a flower of many colors. When freshly cut and put into colored water, it can show that color through its petals. The carnation is believed to be a flower of the gods and a flower linked to the death of Christ and flesh. This flower is the official flower for Mother’s Day, and most given are in shades of pink and red to express love. The carnation is the birth flower of January. - For this pic, it’s Yoko Kasper, Johannes Faustuz’s aunt who raised him with his two older cousins. For Mother’s Day, the Herr Doktor always gives his elderly aunt a handwritten note and carnation to show his appreciation for her despite the two never getting along. — #inktober2018 #originalcharacter #femalecharacter #holdingflower #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pens #pencil #pentel #pentelpen #tradio #brushpen #sharpie #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #whitegelpen

#inktober #flower pic no.26 - #hibiscus - The state flower of Hawaii and national flower of Haiti, this tropical flower comes in red, yellow, pink, purple, and white. They are used in herbal tea and food flavoring, not just as gardening plants. The hibiscus gets it name from an Ancient Greek derived name of a Roman botanist and doctor. This flower symbolizes delicate feminine beauty, fleeting glory and fame, young women, and the qualities of the perfect wife. - With the flower of feminine beauty and wives, it’s Asia and Freyja again. These ladies have grace, beauty, wits, and lots of attitude to share. - This pic was digitally inked and colored with #autodesksketchbook this time. It’s in the grey area whether I think counts for Inktober, but the #digitalink brushwork does resemble actual #ink, so I guess it’s a pass. - 5 more to go~ With some extras too, lol. — #inktober2018 #originalcharacters #femalecharacters #women #redflowers #digitalart #digitalartwork #digitalcoloring #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #pencil #mechanicpencil

#originalcharacter 3️⃣: Freyja Ström (middle name is Avis) She fulfills tropes as the hot wife of a nerdy guy, being a hot momma of a teenage son, and being a terrible cook despite being the most kind and loving wife/mother/friend/neighbor there is. Just stay away when she prepares her “Kraken Suppe” if you value your life - both Kasper men bear scars from her signature dish (physical and psychological). - Fun Note: “Ström” translates into many things in Swedish relating to water, air, and electricity such as “Stream,” “Current,” and “Storm.” Also, my grandmother’s maiden name is Ström. So in a way, Freyja is a tribute to my grandma and part of my heritage. (I’m a 1/4 Swede 🇸🇪) - So which character is next? #inktober #flower pic no.25 - #aster - From Greek meaning “Star” and also known as #starwort, these flowers are very similar to the daisy. They come in white, pink, blue, violet, lavender, and red with yellow centers. Asters are believed to be enchanted blossoms, used as a love talisman and burned for protection. They symbolize patience and wisdom; they are the birth flower for the month of September and are given for couples’ 20th wedding anniversary. - I decided to go a bit more digital on this pic after inking it (like what I did with no.4 and no.19). - Freyja was used for Daisy, so Faustuz as a necromancer mage was the obvious choice for Aster. Mages are often regarded as wise and healing in the fantasy world regardless of what kind they are; being a necromancer mage allows Faustuz to not only cure ailments but also to bring the dead back to life abet they haven’t been killed or dead longer than a day. He can also summon Death, but at a cost of something precious. — #inktober2018 #inkdrawing #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #sepiaink #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #digitalcoloring #digitalcolouring #digitalart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #malecharacter #blond #longhair #flowers

#inktober #flower pic no.24 - #statice - Also called #sealavender, #caspia, #marshrosemary, and #everlastingflower, these flowers are often dried and used for decoration. They commonly come in shades of purple, blue, yellow, white, and pink, and have a papery texture to them. Because of their ability to preserve well, statice is a flower for remembrance and sympathy. - A quick one this time, almost like a watercolor pen drawing but with cheap alcohol markers. I really had a hard time figuring out what to do with stock and statice - they’re both similar in use as filler flowers in bouquets, but definitely not the same in meaning when you give it to someone. #inktober #flower pic no.23 - #queenanneslace - Named after Queen Anne of Great Britain and her great-grandmother Queen Anne of Denmark, this plant bears tiny flowers that resembles delicate lace. It is also known as #wildcarrot, and the root is edible when young before the plant flowers. But caution must be given when harvesting these plants due to its resemblance to #poisonhemlock. It can be a beneficial plant in attracting wasps and butterflies to crops, but it can be an invasive weed and its sap can cause skin irritations. Queen Anne’s Lace curved shape resembles a bird’s nest, giving its meaning of sanctuary. - It’s Rufus again for this pic (I used him for no.4 Iris earlier), but with his hair combed differently and sporting a beard instead of muttonchops. Pretty obvious why he was picked - he’s British and the name of the flower is from a British monarch. - This pic was a bit finicky making with my white pens not wanting to show up on the black ink at first, but my mood improved when the metallic silver went on smoothly. Overall, I am pleased with how this one came out. 🙂 Eight more to go... — #inktober2018 #originalcharacter #malecharacter #blackshirt #whiteflowers #ink #inkart #inkartwork #penart #penartwork #blackink #pen #pens #pentel #tradio #platinumpen #platinumpreppy #kuretake #kuretakebrushpen #ohuhu #ohuhumarkers #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #blackandwhite

They’re used as filler flowers in bouquets, and the double flower variety is highly desired in gardens for their abundant amount of petals. These flowers represent the simple beauty of life and having a content existence. Stock is also edible as a salad garnish due to being related to broccoli. - I’m finally caught up with my prompt! #inktober #flower pic no.21 - #magnolia - A large blossom native to Asia that was brought to the Americas, it is named after a French botanist. This flower comes in shades of white, pink, yellow, and purple. It stands for beauty, poise, dignity, self-respect, nobility, pride, and love for the natural. In the United States, it is associated with the South, and is a popular bridal flower in bouquets. - This time it’s Asia Williams, Tyrone’s wife. She and Tyrone are both from Houston, Texas which has a historic nickname of “Magnolia City” when magnolia forests used to grow naturally. Asia is a very prideful woman with strong opinions, which gets her both admiration and hate from people. — #inktober2018 #blackink #ink #inkart #inkartwork #inkdrawing #penart #pens #lependrawing #pentelbrushpen #kuretakebrushpen #pencil #sketchbook #moleskine #moleskinecahier #originalcharacter #femalecharacter

#inktober #flower pic no.20 - #marigold - Know as “Herbs of the Sun,” these flowers only bloom when the sun is up in the sky. They represent bravery like that of a roaring lion, passion like the blazing sun, and creativity when the mind is enlightened; they can also represent cruelty, jealousy, and grief. They are used in Dia de los Muertos / Day of the Dead celebrations to guide the spirits to their alters and families (think of the movie ‘COCO’). — This time it’s Granger Rodriguez and her younger siblings Carmen and Tobias amongst a bunch of marigolds, also known as “flowers of the dead.” Tobias holds a sugar skull in his hand which are often brightly colored and decorated. Still not sure what his blood type would be, but most likely it’ll be B. Fun Note: Both “De Valeur” and “De Valuer” translates to “Valuable” in French. 🇫🇷 - I should get back to my Inktober flower prompt - I’m already 2 days behind! 😱 As for the next one of these, it’ll be original character 3️⃣: Freyja Ström.
