The end of Sigrid’s diary. Freyja can’t believe it’s the end, but it is. - Sigrid died two days after giving birth to Johannes Faustuz on Christmas Day; for “normal people”, she died from blood loss and infection, but it was Death himself who arrived and took her soul away - not before Richard was ordered to deal the final blow straight through her heart. Since Sigrid’s passing, Richard’s health deteriorated over the next few years from feeling guilty and responsible of his beloved wife’s death; briefly he had moments of joy with his son, only to quickly spiral into deep depression being reminded of Sigrid. Richard died in 1984 when Faustuz was two-going-on-three while they were staying over at South Africa; Faustuz only has one vivid memory of Richard from his childhood: listening to his father sing as he fell asleep in his arms. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #mangastyle #blackandwhite #halftone #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #frauv8_ocs

Richard and Sigrid finally agreed on a first name: Johannes. - “Johannes” derived from “Iohannes” meaning “God is gracious” - basically saying the baby is a gift. While “Magnus” is a bold name and has a nice meaning, Sigrid feels more at ease with the more humble name “Johannes”, plus Richard thought it would be nice if all the Kasper children shared the same nickname (all three grew up hating the idea). “Johannes” could also refer to where Richard’s grandparents live (Johannesburg), as well as Han Solo from Star Wars with his name spelled out Han S. and pronounced “Hannes” (Han Solo and Princess Leia were Sigrid’s favorite characters). - Richard was also a traveling doctor (epidemiologist), which inspired both Johannes Faustuz and his older cousin Hansel to pursue science and medicine as a career (Faustuz is a surgical oncologist while Hansel is a nurse). — #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #baby #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #halftone #blackandwhite

Sigrid seems like everything is going well despite a serious fall, but in reality, Death has been physically knocking her down and around impatiently for her soul; she also seems too calm before giving birth, but Sigrid is very excited to finally see what the baby looks like. - Sigrid can only sense Death’s presence like the warmth of a body and darkness of a shadow, unlike Richard and other family members of the Kasper Family who can actually see and interact with him as if he’s a person (ie. Heinrich liked playing chess with Death) — #femalecharacter #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #halftone #blackandwhite

Richard and Sigrid having a serious chat about their son’s name. - Magnus is a nice old name that means “Great”, “Awesome”, and “Magnificent”. But Sigrid isn’t convinced - she thinks it’s too flashy; she wants something down-to-earth and also has simple nicknames to go with it - like Richard is “Dick” or “Dickie” (“Ricky” is his older brother Heinrich’s nickname). — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #halftone #blackandwhite #comic #frauv8_ocs

Richard faces someone from the past: his ex-fiancée Sheila, a sorceress from a prominent family within the mythical and occult world. Since their breakup, Sheila hoped to reconcile with Richard, only to be shocked to see that he’s married with a baby on the way. - Richard and Sheila had a seemingly stable relationship after his father Olaf arranged a blind date between them, but it quickly soured after their engagement when Richard learned of her lavish spending habits and harsh treatment towards his sister-in-law Yoko, Hansel, and Hannah. Extended family cut funds into the main family account, leaving Richard having to pay Sheila’s debts with his own funds from his private practice as a doctor and quickly making him bankrupt. The final strike was Sheila demeaning Yoko and the children, trying to order them around as if they were servants; Richard threw out her belongings and locked her out of the family house in the rain, declaring that the engagement is over and that he never wants to see her again. A little more than three months later, Richard is sent over to Copenhagen where he meets Sigrid and immediately falls in love with her, vowing to give her the best quality of life with less than two years to live. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs

Richard and Sigrid are going to have a boy. - Aina really wanted a girl just like her daughter Sigrid, but hearing that it’s a boy and healthy, she was happy as any future grandmother can be. As for the Kaspers, only little Hannah wasn’t happy now that she won’t be the baby of the family anymore (she did like that her cousin was going to be a boy so she didn’t have to share her dolls). A boy would also mean a future Grim Reaper/monster hunter if he inherits what the Kaspers call “Odin’s Eye”, or heterochromia with the ability to see souls, hidden creatures, and monsters’ vitals. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #frauv8_ocs

July 1981: Richard in doctor-mode, not very happy with Sigrid’s cravings for ice cream cones.🍦 (he might also be a bit jealous she can eat so much of it without stomachaches - Kaspers with heterochromia are lactose intolerant despite being from the land of the Holstein cow) - With anemia and not gaining enough weight, Richard is extremely concerned about Sigrid and their baby’s health. Now living in Kiel, Sigrid is constantly monitored by family members while Richard is working at the hospital and with house calls nearby (he’s still treating Sonja Ström in Stockholm). — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #woman #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #icecream #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing

Richard was an emotional wreck sobbing when he got back from his trip across America hunting monsters, collecting herbs for medicinal uses, and randomly dropping by universities to meet up with former professors and classmates; had he known that Sigrid was expecting, he would of abandoned his work and spent all those months with her. But Sigrid didn’t want to interrupt his work and thought it’d be a happy surprise for Richard when he returned - which didn’t quite turn out the way she hoped. - Sigrid doesn’t know that Richard is not only overjoyed but also extremely saddened, knowing that she’ll die from complications of childbirth just as Death had finally arranged. He also feels responsible of her fast-approaching death since he got her pregnant, fulfilling the terms of her life curse (this guilt leads to his death within two years). Until the birth of their child, Richard made sure Sigrid was well cared for by all means. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #blackandwhite #halftone #frauv8_ocs #originalcharacters

Sigrid and her mother Aina finding out that she’s expecting. - Aina and Sigrid had always been extremely close, especially since Aina raised her daughter alone after escaping an abusive husband and changing their last name for protection (their real last name is “Jorgensen”; Aina chose “Faustus” as a reminder of her marriage to a warlock who took most of their daughter’s lifespan to extend his). With Sigrid’s life so short, Aina tried her best to give her daughter the best quality of life and encouraged her to live without regrets. Richard’s appearance had made Aina so hopeful for Sigrid to have a fulfilled life, despite knowing he’s there on Death’s behalf to observe her. — #autodesksketchbook #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #femalecharacter #motherdaughter #halftone #frauv8_ocs #originalcharacters #blackandwhite

Like his parents, Hr. Dr. Kasper also got married in March (the 15th). Also like his mother Sigrid, he and Freyja were married at very young age (he rescued her from a Bluebeard when they were 16-17, resulting in an unexpected marriage conducted by a priest’s ghost; they still haven’t had an official wedding since then, so that’s something to look forward to in the near future). - Richard’s 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle has been fought over by all three Kasper Siblings since his death, especially between Hansel and Hannah (each of them learned how to drive with the car). But both Hansel and Hannah were quick to leave home after graduating and turning 18, leaving the car behind for Faustuz to use as soon as he was older - and after a long restoration period, he still drives his father’s car around to this day. — #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #frauv8_ocs #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #car #volkswagenbeetle #comic

Richard proposing to Sigrid in front of her mother Aina. (February 1981 was also the same month and year Princess Diana got engaged to Prince Charles, just to get an idea of the time period when Sigrid and Richard were alive) - It was Aina all along who encouraged the relationship to grow from the beginning, and sadly watched it tragically end when her daughter died after childbirth with her son-in-law dying two years later from heartbreak and illness (technically not a spoiler because it’s been mentioned many times Hr. Dr. Kasper’s parents are dead in previous posts). — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #blackandwhite #halftone #frauv8_ocs #originalcharacters

Sigrid meeting Richard’s family for the first time. - Except for Hansel and Hannah, the Kaspers were absolutely shook finding out that Sigrid was only a teenager because she acted years beyond her age (only Richard and Aina seen her act like her age, especially when she gets upset and embarrassed). But after long chats and learning her story about being cursed, they softened up and become more accepting of their newest family member; she really impressed everyone when she took up the challenge to beat Heinrich in a game of chess (she had him checkmated within half an hour). Even Papa Olaf felt at ease being around her and enjoys her company, telling his son Richard that he actually made a good decision regarding someone of the opposite sex this time (he’s still bitter about Richard breaking off his previous arranged engagement, and not very proud of Richard’s promiscuous past as a playboy). As for Hansel and Hannah, the two immediately were curious about their new auntie, especially with Sigrid being so much nicer than Richard’s ex-fiancée Shelia; Hansel instantly liked Sigrid for her beauty, while Hannah took a bit longer to accept that Sigrid will be her uncle’s true love (Hannah had always insisted that she was going to marry Richard if he doesn’t have a girlfriend). But over time, the two enjoyed their auntie staying over, playing games with them and treating them with coins to play at the arcade or tickets for prizes. After meeting Richard’s nephew and niece, Sigrid had said that if she could live a normal lifespan, she’d want three children to increase the fun within the family. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #family #man #woman #child #boy #girl #originalcharacters #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #frauv8_ocs #halftone #blackandwhite

Sigrid’s inner conflict: being in love with the Grim Reaper Death sent to watch over her until he himself appears, and wanting to live longer so she can spend more time with Richard and potentially their children (Richard was also suffering, falling in love with the girl he was sent to observe and report back to Death on how much time she has left on her lifespan). - This would be the first time Sigrid left Copenhagen to meet with the other Kaspers in Kiel - Heinrich, Yoko, their children Hansel and Hannah, and the patriarch Olaf. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #girl #originalcharacters #comic #blackandwhite #halftone #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #frauv8_ocs

A dark entry in Sigrid’s diary, showing the other side of Richard as a Grim Reaper. - It’s not known whether if Death ordered Richard to collect Mr. Vannderhassen’s soul, or if he acted out of spite and annoyance towards a man threatening himself and his family (Kaspers are known to be vengeful, often doing so as a form of bad karma); either way, Sigrid is more frightened of her death quickly approaching after seeing his true form, temporarily distancing herself from Richard out of fear. As of what Mr. Vannderhassen died from, it was cardiac arrest in the eyes of humans outside of the occult and mythical. - Richard’s Grim Reaper costume is based off the Plague Doctor; unlike his father Olaf, older brother Heinrich, and his son Johannes Faustuz, Richard wore mostly white instead of black - giving him the nickname “The White Ghost”. I plan to draw all of the Kaspers’ Grim Reaper costumes from Olaf’s from the 1950s to Cedrick’s modern day outfit (🔜). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #originalcharacter #grimreaper #plaguedoctor #scythe #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #halftone #blackandwhite #frauv8_ocs

Can’t say “Get a room!” when they’re already in their room, lol (they’re just waking up for the day). - Another look inside the Kaspers’ bedroom (original in 3rd slide). They try to keep all the pets and mythical critters out, but too many times they hide in a hamper basket or under the bed (or in Frl. Flicka’s case, she begs and whines to stay, often sleeping in the bed with them). —— #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #woman #bedroom #bed #dog #cat #pets #basket #clothes #roomaesthetic #frauv8_ocs
