Sigrid initially found it annoying having a Reaper constantly observing and visiting her every week since her lifespan countdown click down to less than five years; just by his presence alone, she hated being reminded how much she had left, more so after having her heart shattered by her childhood crush Batty Sorensen and losing hope of experiencing true love.
But after spending time talking and learning about who Richard was (including his true identity as Death), she grew more tolerant and accepting that he was going to be the one to collect her soul personally. Her affection for him grew exponentially when she learned how similar their interests were (they both loved video games, movies, and science books), how he would patiently listen to her talk about school and work, help her with homework, treat her with her favorite ice cream, and he even had scared off some schoolmates that had been bulling her since childhood. It didn’t take long before Sigrid looked forward towards Richard’s weekly visits, more so when their relationship finally became official.
