Page 14: Message for home... (End) - Back to the start, but on the other end - Kimiko now sends back her Hanami photos to her mother and younger sisters in Japan. — #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #woman #girl #pink #blue #green #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #comic #hanami

Page 7: The missus is fashionably late (as usual). - Freyja is wearing the kimono Tante Yoko gave her when she married Hr. Dr. Kasper. With a guest in the house who’s also Japanese like her extended family, Freyja feels that she should wear her kimono this time. - Kimiko isn’t familiar with Freyja’s TV show, live blogs, or fashion magazines, so she has no idea how popular/famous she is. Kimiko, like most of her fellow coworkers, also assumed her mentor was a single father whose wife died from some tragic event (some say cancer, others say an accident; none of it is true). Now finally meeting her, Kimiko is in awe and curious about Freyja’s relationship with Faustuz. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #woman #man #dog #pink #blue #green #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #comic #hanami

Page 6: “... and then I was raised by my aunt Yoko and uncle Heinrich, along with my older cousins Hansel and Hannah.” - Kimiko hasn’t seen or met his wife (yet), but now knows how and why her mentor is fluent with Japanese. - Most of Hr. Dr. Kasper’s coworkers assumed he’s a single dad, his wife dying from some tragic reason since they’ve never seen her visit the hospital. (Freyja is alive and well - she’ll make an appearance soon enough...) — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #woman #man #dog #flowers #pink #blue #green #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #comic #hanami

Page 5: “Not my father. Not a bathrobe.” (But a little funny Kimiko says Erik looks like an old Cedrick - he’s his grandfather after all) - Hr. Dr. Kasper and Kimiko are both wearing Yukata, a traditional Japanese outfit similar to a Kimono but less elaborate and lighter in weight for Spring and Summer. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #woman #men #dog #pink #blue #green #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #comic #hanami

Page 4: It’s Hr. Ström, not Hr. Kasper. - Kimiko never met any of Hr. Dr. Kasper’s immediate family, so she quickly assumed Erik Ström was his father because of the logic that he’s living at her doctor’s house and is blond like the Herr Doktor and Cedrick. Erik thinks it’s funny people think that he’s Johannes Faustuz’s father (he actually knew his father Richard), but in reality, the two can’t stand the sight of each other (Erik thinks Faustuz is not worthy enough for his daughter Freyja for lots of reasons). — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #woman #man #pink #blue #green #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #comic #hanami

Another quick drawing of these two... Thought about adding flowers, but I’m too lazy and tired to do so - maybe another time.😴 (but then it’ll give off Hades/Persephone vibes...) Another bonus Sigrid’s Diary Entry: Odin’s death. - Richard normally hated cats, but after dealing with Sigrid’s neighbor’s cat Hedy and her stray cat boyfriend nicknamed Odin, he gradually got attached to them (cats have seven to nine lives and chase souls away, making it difficult for Grim Reapers to do their jobs). Odin and Hedy had three litters of kittens (10 babies altogether), their last litter born a few weeks after Odin’s death - which was a surprise when Hedy went missing for a long time (leading to the neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen accusing Sigrid’s mother Aina of killing his cat for witchcraft rituals; Hedy went into hiding deep in the greenhouse to give birth). Hedy is no longer alive, but one of her descendants (a male black cat with heterochromia) is currently owned by Aina and is named Lamar. — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #malecharacter #man #cats #kittens

Another random #sketchdump - this time in the modern era with Richard and Sigrid’s son Johannes Faustuz with wife Freyja Ström, son Cedrick, and cat Klimt. - Slide 2 is an old short from last year (when it was peak of the toilet paper shortage) featuring Klimt. — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #boy #cat #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #characterdesign #frauv8_ocs

Having more fun with clothing patterns with these two dads. Tyrone is looking a bit more put together compared to Hr. Even I don’t know what you’re wearing, CK... Sorry.😶 But it was really fun drawing and coloring it all (it’s pretty obvious that I enjoy drawing clothing). - It’s like all kinds of random vomited on him with a dash of his fantasy version (he also wears a white naval-inspired jacket). Cedrick got “programming socks”, a Takashi Muakami daisy cross-body bag that resembles what I call “the color wheel of death” (which is appropriate for a junior Grim Reaper to wear), a skeleton tank under a purple striped cropped shirt, biker shorts, combat boots, and a terrible mess of a vintage naval uniform and USA jacket he stitched up together (he takes after Freyja when it comes to crafting). — #malecharacter #characterdesign #originalcharacter #boy #frauv8_ocs #fashion #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle

Quick little simple thumbnail patterns based on OCs’ clothing. These were super fun and relaxing to draw - especially the plaid pattern. 😊 — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #patterns #sketchdump

The Kasper Brothers: Richard and his older brother Heinrich. Both had Heterochromia - except Heinrich was shorter with a slightly darker complexion, slicked dirty-blond hair, and chain-smoked; Richard was taller, slightly slimmer, and had feathered platinum blond hair. - Richard had always been in the shadow of his older brother all his life - Heinrich was the favorite child being more quiet, responsible, and well-tempered, while Richard was hot-headed, vocal, and adventurous. Their father Olaf considered Richard an extra mouth to feed since he already had “the perfect child”, and their mother Ida was disappointed having another son when she really wanted a daughter; Richard was sent off to South Africa to live with Ida’s parents when he was an infant until he was old enough to attend school so more attention could be spent on Heinrich. Despite their five-year gap and opposing personalities, the two brothers were inseparable in everything they did together at home, more so when Ida suddenly abandoned the family for a younger American lover. - It was expected that Heinrich step up and become the next Grim Reaper after Olaf, but after traveling abroad to Japan and marrying a foreign woman, then having a son who didn’t inherit “Odin’s Eye”, Heinrich gave up his role as the heir. The family legacy fell onto Richard when he was a teenager, creating a wedge between the brothers and added pressure on Richard to act like the heir of the family. Because of this sudden change, Richard became quite the playboy to rebel against the proper behavior expected from him, adding more to the rift between his brother and especially their father. - Since Death’s assignment to Copenhagen, Richard had become more focused on his career as a traveling doctor, his duty as a Grim Reaper, and being a loyal partner to Sigrid while Heinrich remains at Kiel with father Olaf, wife Yoko, and two children to keep the family estate in order. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #man #men #brothers #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs

Some random Richard and Hedy scribblings... 🐈‍⬛ Richard had taken one of Hedy’s nine lives when he mistaken her for a Tatzelwurm in Aina’s greenhouse. Hedy took an instant liking to him despite what he had done and the fact Richard isn’t much of a cat-person - especially being a Grim Reaper and cats being known for the association with life and death. Richard also doesn’t like dealing with Sigrid’s neighbor/teacher Mr. Vannderhassen for numerous reasons, including the fact Hedy keeps running away and staying in the greenhouse or garden; regardless of the trouble, Richard does care about Hedy even though he calls her a pest. — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #man #cat #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #frauv8_ocs #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart

Hans, Hans, and Hans - Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes. - All three Kasper children had the same nickname growing up (which they hated), but their parents thought it would be cute. Initially Hansel and Hannah weren’t close knit with Johannes Faustuz since he’s so much younger; the siblings got even more quarrelsome when their cousin was adopted after Richard’s death. The older siblings constantly excluded the youngest, often picking at him and seeing him as the reason why their beloved aunt Sigrid died. Johannes Faustuz would try everything to fit in by speaking Japanese (his aunt Yoko is Japanese, and she spoke Japanese exclusively to her children), dumping black ink into his almost white hair to look like them, and try dabbling in their interests (sports and cooking) in case they need help with something. But after Heinrich’s death, the three began to bond by sharing memories. Hansel and Hannah also realized how much Johannes Faustuz acts a lot like their aunt and uncle, and began randomly hugging their younger cousin due to his physical resemblance to their father. - Prior to the pandemic, all three would spend time together looking over photos and singing karaoke; nowadays, they have sporadic Zoom meetings whenever Hansel isn’t busy being a nurse, Hannah isn’t dealing with nonstop takeout orders, and/or Johannes Faustuz isn’t teaching or reaping. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #characterdesign #characterdrawing #charactersheet #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #animestyle #frauv8_ocs
