The Kaspers’ home office at night. ✨ The second page looks like Johannes Faustuz either caught his son Cedrick out past his curfew... or the Herr Doktor is secretly planning how to kill you. - This was a challenging piece to make: the details, coloring, and especially the lighting/shading. But it was also fun adding the items reflecting the family’s side job in dealing with mythical creatures and the occult (the jarred Meerjungfrau, fairy skulls, eyeballs). All three family members are avid readers, and there’s multiple languages featured in their titles (German, Swedish, English, Japanese) as well as various subjects related to their day jobs. There are also heirlooms that shows the Kasper Family have a dark history (alchemy, inquisition, WW2). Kaspers over the ages had always been advisors, scientists, and soldiers willing to serve to obtain and share their knowledge by all means - even if it crosses moral lines. Faustuz and Cedrick know the sins of their ancestors, and the heirlooms are painful reminders to not go down that path for the sake of their work. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #pixeloop #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #man #interior #desk #shelfs #frauv8

It looks like an older Cedrick at first glance, but it’s actually a younger version of his grandfather Erik Ström (that glare is what gives it away - see last slide). Also, Cedrick hates wearing formal wear - he sticks to wearing his medical scrubs or activewear 99% of the time (the other 1% are stuff like denim jeans and casual fashion). - The Kaspers are known for their “Death Glare,” but the Ströms have their own “Stern Glare” when they narrow their eyes and fixate them on their target (the “Death Glare” is when a Kasper has their eyes wide open with rage with either a frown or a crazed smile). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #man #blond #blackandwhite #stripes #suit #frauv8_ocs

Cedrick with his older second-cousins Elizabeth Keiko and Evangeline. - Evangeline “Eva” Kasper-Schmitt is Hansel’s oldest daughter, ten years older than Cedrick at age 25; she’s from Hansel’s second marriage to Martha Schmitt, a woman he dumped his first wife Greta Strauss for while in medical school. Eva is a very quiet young woman who has a passion for history and art; she’s very superstitious and religious, often distancing herself from the Kasper Family. She denies being able to see mythical creatures, but push comes to shove, Eva will only help the family by providing historical records of sightings. Eva has her father’s brown eyes and long dirty blonde hair like her mother. - Elizabeth Keiko “Leisa” Kasper-Müller is Hansel’s second daughter from his third marriage to Heidi Müller, another romantic interest he chased after being divorced from his second wife (Heidi ended up divorcing Hansel after an encounter with a headless horseman at the family estate in Kiel, not infidelity like the previous two wives). Leisa is seven years older than Cedrick at age 22. Leisa has heterochromia like Cedrick, but with one hazel-brown eye and the other the normal blue; her hair is a mix of her father’s dark brown and mother’s auburn. Unlike her older half-sister Eva, Leisa is very loud and energetic like their father Hansel; like Eva, she wants nothing to do with their father despite his unconditional love for his daughters. She’s into martial arts and weaponry, and is working as an intern for the Ströms. Leisa is eager to learn more about the Kasper legacy due to recent circumstances, often visiting Los Angeles to extract information from Johannes Faustuz and Cedrick to the point of annoyance. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #characterdesign #femalecharacters #malecharacter #frauv8_ocs

Circa 1992 when Johannes Faustuz meets his future wife Freyja, a foreign exchange student from Sweden. At age 10, Freyja was a lot taller than Faustuz even though he’s older by six months; this will be the case until they’re 13 when he starts getting much taller than her. - They first formally meet in the library where his aunt Yoko works. Freyja was looking for old English literature books, but noticed several fairies flying around; she follows them to see a boy she recognizes from her class reading a large stack of books on mythical creatures, mythology, biology, and science fiction. Freyja confronts Faustuz about the fairies and books, learning that he’s a Kasper, a family like hers familiar with everything mysterious and mythical. Because of their shared history and interests, the two become very close over the years despite not being able to be together all the time. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #femalecharacter #girl #children #couple #frauv8_ocs

Uncle Heinrich with Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz circa 1983-84. This was about one year after Johannes Faustuz was adopted by his uncle after his father Richard died overseas in Africa due to mysterious causes. All grown up, his cousins constantly remark how much he looks like their father (both Heinrich and Richard look alike with blond hair, odd-eyes, and glasses - except Richard was taller and didn’t smoke). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #man #father #uncle #boy #son #nephew #girl #daughter #frauv8_ocs

The Kasper Family at an earlier time when Cedrick was a lot shorter and Johannes Faustuz had short hair; Freyja hasn’t changed much since except how she styles her hair. This would probably be when Cedrick was about 10 years old. (Faustuz was born in 23 December 1981; Freyja was born 30 June 1982; I still haven’t decided whether Cedrick will be born in 2006 or 2017 since those are the two most recent times October Friday the 13th had occurred) - The colors I picked for this pic screams Fall, but the weather here in SoCal screams Summer - it’s been super hot the last several days.🥵🌡 Cedrick’s sweater has each of his parents’ family symbols: the Kaspers’ black skull and the Ströms’ spiral. Freyja’s outfit was based off a sold-out piece of clothing according to a fashion article (see 4th slide), while Faustuz just wears a basic collared shirt and slacks with typical aviator-framed glasses (reference last slide); both Freyja and Faustuz are wearing wedding rings this time. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #halftone #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Aunt Yoko decided to not get rid of the Yōkai after all, only after seeing how the Yōkai were staying together as a family despite everything she had done. It reminded her of when her husband Heinrich had died and all the hardships she endured trying to keep the family functional. But at the same time, it’s possible she decided to keep the Yōkai only to make things harder for her nephew since she doesn’t like him. It’s ultimately up to the Yōkai whether they want to stay or go with Johannes Faustuz. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #frauv8

The Kasper Siblings: Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz. All three are often nicknamed “Hans” due to their similar first names. - Hansel and Hannah are actual brother and sister; Johannes Faustuz is their younger cousin who was raised with them after his parents died. Growing up Hansel and Hannah weren’t particularly close with Faustuz since the age gap between them is a bit (Hansel is 8 years older; Hannah is 6 years older), but growing older they realize they actually like their younger cousin. Faustuz often gets random hugs whenever Hansel or Hannah miss their late father Heinrich due to his resemblance to him. Aunt Yoko never liked Faustuz; she has always been tough on him since he’s not her biological child and he had been chosen to be the next head of the Kasper Family whenever Olaf Kasper dies (the Kasper Siblings‘ grandfather, Yoko’s father-in-law). Because of this, Hansel and Hannah try their best to support their younger cousin by all means so he can take care of the family legacy. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #cousins #siblings #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

The Yōkai are so happy to have a new family member on the way; it won’t be known whether it’ll be a Kappa or Garappa until it hatches in three days. Afterwards, hopefully Johannes Faustuz can take them back to his current residence in California. - As for Hans and Hans, it’s emotional for them to see a family together when they’re separated from their own. Hansel has the worst luck of the three Kasper Cousins/Siblings in regards with relationships due to his work and wandering eyes; back in his younger years, he was the most popular boy in school with many girls chasing after him. He has two daughters: Evangeline (with his second wife Martha) and Elizabeth Keiko (with his third wife Heidi); his first wife Greta had left him due to his infidelity in less than two years of marriage. Eva is ten years older than Cedrick, while Leisa is seven years older. Like Cedrick, Leisa has odd-eyes, except one brown, the other blue. Neither daughter wants anything to do with the Kasper lineage, but they’ll be featured sometime in the future. - As for Hannah, she never had children for multitude of reasons. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #yokai #garappa #kappa #hyosube #frauv8

Johannes Faustuz was filling up a kiddie pool when Garappa started having labor pains. He’s calling out for his older cousin Hansel because he is a nurse; even though he’s a doctor, Faustuz needs some assistance in dealing with this situation. Egg laying for Garappas is extremely painful and risky considering how large the egg is compared to body size (think of a Kiwi bird). A Garappa will remain with her egg until it hatches; she will have to rely on her mate for food and comfort for the next few days. This is also a vulnerable time since she’ll be weak from egg laying and incubation, not be able to eat to regain her strength. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #yokai #garappa #kappa #hyosube #frauv8

Freyja normally doesn’t like having creatures living in her garden, but after hearing what happened to the pond in Kiel, she can’t help but take in the Kappa and Hyōsube. It’s also revealed that a third Yōkai is also homeless - the Garappa. But she’s in hiding and expecting her egg any day now. Johannes Faustuz, Hansel, and Hannah will have to figure out a temporary fix until the Garappa lays her egg. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #yokai #kappa #hyosube

Uncle Heinrich’s pond is gone!😱 Aunt Yoko replaced it with concrete slabs for easy maintenance without any consideration for the Yōkai that lived there for almost fifty years. Which background color you like best on Cedrick and his father Johannes Faustuz? ❤️💙💛 Comment below!🤗 - I ended up with red, though I really like blue just as much since it really contrasts with the Kaspers’ blond hair; red just draws you in like a hummingbird. Yellow is nice being monochromatic, but it’s a bit too plain and their eyes stand out too much - I’d have to desaturate them into more of a grey-green color. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #fatherson #blond #glasses #animestyle #mangastyle #red #blue #yellow #black #white #halftone

Meh... Felt like drawing one of these kind of sketchy pics. It’s pretty much official that Johannes Faustuz is a millennial with how he’s dressed and acts (getting old, but ain’t that old - just like ME!) This version of the Kasper Project also takes place in the near future. - You can actually figure out what year Faustuz would be born on by looking at son’s birthday - Cedrick was born on Friday the 13th of October. The last time we had one was in 2017, and 2006 before that (the year I started becoming invested with this project). If Cedrick was born in 2006, he’d be 15 in 2021; Faustuz would have to be born in 1981. To push it a bit more into the future, if Cedrick was born in 2017, Faustuz would be born in 1992. Whether it’s 1981 or 1992, Papa Kasper is 100% a millennial. — #characterdrawing #malecharacter #originalcharacter #digitalsketch #digitaldrawing #green #purple #red #white #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #man #lineart

Father’s Day is coming. What will you give your dad on Sunday? - He may not look it, but Papa Kasper is quite happy with his cup of coffee. He likes it steaming hot, without cream, and a maximum of two teaspoons of raw sugar. - He actually got his signature #1dad mug from a work raffle, not from his son Cedrick; it was suppose to say “No.1 Doctor”, but it was a mislabeled box. He got the mug when people didn’t know he was an expecting father, so it shocked them when he started using the cup religiously for his daily doses of caffeine. Fifteen years later, Johannes Faustuz is still using the same mug for work. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #characterart #malecharacter #man #doctor #blond #character #glasses #mug #steam #drinkingcoffee #fathersday #dad
