A few skin tone palettes I use for my OCs; I use similar colors when using alcohol markers. The last time I made one of these mock fashion magazine covers was all the way back in February… That’s 8 months… That’s a long time… 😅 - I have fun drawing OCs wearing current clothing or occasionally clothing from a past time period if they’re another era (1970s-1990s specifically). I’ve been seeing lots of sweats, oversized shirts, baggy pants, chunky boots, and lots of plaid and corduroy that’s highly influenced by the 1990s and early 2000s on shelves for the Fall season (it’s getting a bit too close to my late childhood to my tween years; in a few years we might be back to having Emo fashion, lol). Despite all the cozy clothes coming out, it’s still pretty warm out here in California - I can barely wear sweaters only in the morning and late night hours, otherwise it’s still too hot. Something orange for October: it’s Cedrick Kasper and the family cat Klimt. October 13th is Cedrick’s birthday, and Klimt was his 9th birthday present from his grandfather Erik Ström; Cedrick picked Klimt because he was orange like his grandfather’s cat Klum (Klimt was also the runt of the litter, making him stand out even more amongst his siblings). As sweet and affectionate Klimt may be, he’s known to cause some trouble bringing in dead or dying critters, drinking out of Papa Kasper’s mug or Stern’s fishbowl, climbing up really high up trees (he’s a Norwegian Forest Cat), or tearing up the family’s emergency supply of toilet paper. As for Cedrick, he’s a young teenage wunderkind training to become a doctor like his father Johannes Faustuz and grandfather Richard, but also has a knack for crafting things like plushies and clothing like his mother Freyja. Like his mother Sigrid, Hr. Dr. Kasper has a green thumb and enjoys being around plants whenever he’s feeling stressed. As for hair tones, blond and grey hair are actually the hardest for me - dark hair like Tricia’s are the most easiest to color. So to say which OCs were the easiest to draw here? Another #sketchdump… Took awhile to finish this due to being busy with work and feeling lazy/tired/uninspired the past several days. •Sigrid likes dressing up in shorts & tanks when she’s not wearing school uniforms/dresses; when it’s nighttime she gets cold since she forgets to bring a sweater/jacket. Since Richard appeared, he’s been lending his coats which smells like Calvin Klein Obsession (Sigrid thought he’d stink with all the monsters & souls he hunts). •Hedy (Sigrid’s home room teacher/neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen’s cat) loves sneaking into Aina’s greenhouse for naps and visits with Odin (the neighborhood stray tomcat). As much as Sigrid and her mother love cats, their neighbor often accuses Aina of stealing his cat and is upset seeing a another man with Sigrid. •Richard gets calls from Aina at his office in Kiel about Tatzelwurms; they’re weasel/snake-like creatures that burrow underground & drawn to valuable crops (Aina grows flowers, shrubs, and herbs). #sketchdump with a lot of OCs at once…😶 • Asia’s not happy with her hubby Tyrone having a hangover after having several drinks the night before with his “work spouse” Hr. Dr. Kasper. • Cedrick noticed Stern wasn’t in her fishbowl; since she’s so tiny and prone to drying out after long periods of time, he’s panicking trying to find her (she most likely crawled into a hot cup of tea sitting out in the kitchen). • Freyja is all dressed up for a red carpet event; she’s caught off guard with someone asking where “Mr. Ström” is for the night. • Some random guy at the local sports bar made fun of Johannes Faustuz drinking a pink cocktail, calling him a “Girly Man”. Kaspers are known to be extremely vengeful when insulted, so in retaliation Faustuz challenges him to a drinking contest - whoever drinks the most pink cocktails wins. Tyrone knows his coworker can tolerate a lot of alcohol, but he’s scared of the other guy getting hurt as well as explaining to Asia his whereabouts late at night. • Sigrid and Richard out on a rare daytime date in the 1980s. A closer look at two extended family members: Ida & Sabrina Vandenberg. - Ida Baum met Olafur Kasper in college; she felt pity for him having burn scars on his face and scalp from the war; they quickly bonded over their shared background in the occult and love of American music. It’s been mentioned to me many times, but yes - my dolls do look a lot like a few of my OCs (Cedrick, Tricia, Freyja); because of that, I do use them occasionally as models.
