It’s a remake of a pic of Vincent-Claude I made almost a decade ago; obviously it’s not as detailed or painted like the original (seriously - I don’t have the patience to digitally paint as much as I used to).
Hard to say whether I’ve improved or retrograded backwards...😅

Cedrick’s first pair of glasses.
-
I was 10 when I first started wearing glasses, just like my dad.
How old were you when you first got glasses?

It’s another #drawthisinyourstyle pic - this challenge is by @kurboi.
#kurboi50k
I try to stay away from super popular ones for less popular ones to support lesser known artists, but the color scheme... couldn’t resist it.
It’s not as refined as my other pics, but it is was it is - a sketchy tablet drawing.
-
Let me know what other #dtiys challenges I should try - including your own. 🤗

Colored versions in one pic: Freyja Ström and Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper at ages 10-11 versus them at ages 39-40.

Closeup of these two cuddly lovebirds from my last post: Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper with his lovely wife Freyja Ström.

They’re the couple that make people say: “Aww~ Cute!”
“Eh?! She’s that nerd’s wife?!”
Or “Get a hotel room, you two!”

Taking a small break from the story again. My hand is getting a bit sore...☹️✍🏻
-
The first of Cedrick’s notes regarding the mermaid (or “Meerjungfrau” for the Kaspers):
“Only a young person pure of mind, body, and soul will be worthy of a mermaid’s bite so that she may regain her lost beauty.
Once the mermaid has her beauty restored, the bitten will fall into a deep slumber until the mermaid is slain.”
-
90% of the time, Cedrick is doing research and work for his father and others; 5% he actually does VR/AR operations, 4% he plays video games, and the last 1% he eats, sleep, goes to the bathroom, etc.
And big disclaimer: I don’t speak much (if any) German, so if there’s any misspelled words and phrases, poke me to correct them for future reference. I’m trying my best to keep my characters as accurate as possible to what I designed them to be.

It’s poor Kimiko Abe the nursing student who gets bit by the mermaid.😭
Now the mermaid will have her beauty restored, also growing to human size as Kimiko’s doppelgänger.
That’s not a good thing because there’s one man currently infatuated with Kimiko...
-
This one took FOREVER~ to color.
Next page will most likely be black and white, but it’s still possible that I might make another colored one just because I can.😛

Freyja’s a hugger while Johannes Faustuz and Cedrick aren’t so much.
-
I guess this could be a redraw of the Kasper Family drawing I made back in December 2017 (5th slide). I also included the #lineart (2nd slide), inking (3rd slide), and coloring (4th slide). All three consistently look like the 2017 version, except Cedrick has a different hairstyle, is wearing his glasses, and a bit younger and cuter look while still being a teenager.

It’s been a long time since I’ve drawn any of the Kaspers’ pets. They have two dogs and a cat (not including the myriad of fruit flies the Herr Doktor takes care of for experimenting).
-
Their cat cat Klimt is a huge fluffy orange Norwegian forest cat. He’s named after the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt because his fur resembles the swirling patterns in the artist’s gold paintings. Despite his size, Klimt think he can perch on anything and loves exploring high places which leads him into serious trouble. He’s very attached to Johannes Faustuz and Cedrick, often following either one of them around the house whenever they do come home from the hospital. Klimt enjoys cuddling up with his fellow pet Fräulein Flicka the Doberman, but avoids Freud the dachshund due to his rough playing and biting. Overall, he’s a sweet cat who loves giving attention to anyone he thinks is worth it.

Vincent-Claude DeValuer blowing out smoke. He’s going to need to quit doing that if he wants to live longer. Then again, he’s a bit of a bad boy and doesn’t listen.

Kasper Fantasy Concept: Doctor Richard Kasper, Sigrid, and a really little Johannes Faustuz clutching a skeleton plushie.
-
In his mortal form as the Half-Breed Quack Doctor Richard, Death sells various traded goods and homemade medicine (that may or may not work - depends on dosage and duration) from his wooden cart located in front of the borderlands tavern. Sigrid also sells handmade goods such as knitted dolls and hand-grown mushrooms and herbs; she often takes care of the cart when Richard is gone either restocking or meeting the goddess Fate’s kill quota as Death. That leaves little Faustuz alone with his toys, often watching his parents work from a hiding spot.
-
There are other versions I drew: without their son, and just father and son.

And I still ended up drawing boy tears.🤦🏻♀️
-
Yes, the source of Tricia’s bottle of Boys’ Tears is poor Cedrick. She mercilessly picks on him for various reasons, the main one because she thinks he’s an annoying dork and wants nothing to do with him despite her uncle Tyrone trying to pair the two of them together.
Cedrick doesn’t think of Tricia as a romantic interest since she’s a few years older than him, but does want to get along to avoid conflicts - he often stuck tutoring her for high school exit exams, if not babysitting Queenie in her place. Cedrick also wants to try being friends with more people close to his own age since he’s a wunderkind who grew up with little to no socializing with other kids.
-
Aside from the tears, Cedrick has his usual red stud earrings and is wearing something #adidas. He also has his current bowlcut haircut, and his eyes are odd-colored (his right eye is a tiny bit more green than the left eye).

Johannes Faustuz doesn’t refer to his wife Freyja as “Darling” - he calls her “My Love” and “my little Schmetterling”. He actually calls people “Darling” whenever he’s feeling a bit sarcastic.
Or perhaps he had one too many cups of black coffee and actually is in a good mood?
-
The coloring is a bit of an experiment too, both color scheme and technique.
I’m just trying different things to do while I’m still out of work.

Fantasy Concept: The Original Kasper Clan - Richard and Sigrid with their newborn son Johannes Faustuz.
-
Richard was originally Death, the goddess Fate’s right hand man in maintaining global order. He grows bored one day, wanting to roam the world to study its inhabitants for fun and curiosity. Fate grants him his wish, giving him a mortal disguise as a traveling quack doctor of “mostly Elf and some Human” ancestry. Most of his medical wares do work - just not as immediate as people hope, which often leads to confrontations and beatings leaving him often penniless.
-
Sigrid is the daughter of the Elf King Spergeon Faustuz. She was born a Blood Elf, a rare genetic anomaly in which instead of creating blooming flowers of life she grows mushrooms of death; her hair is also jet black instead of the platinum blond all normal Elves have. She was spared death at the behalf of her mother and brother with the condition that she would never marry and have any children.
-
Sigrid accidentally meets Richard in the forest as he transforms from his skeletal form into his flesh form. He thought about killing her for seeing him in his immortal form, but immediately spares her when she offers him a rare poisonous mushroom from her hand. They meet again at a night market where he was beaten and robbed of his goods; Sigrid takes him into her father’s palace out of pity so he can heal. The Elf King grows wary of his daughter’s affection for the mysterious man, exiling her after seeing the two share a kiss. Richard takes Sigrid to his newly founded village with other exiled Elves and Human-Elf hybrids for safety. The pair marry and eventually have a son together, founding the Kasper Clan in charge of the village.

Carmen Rodriguez and Tricia Williams, Granger’s younger sister and Tyrone’s niece.
-
These two are the most popular girls at their high school, and they are always together wherever they go. Carmen and Tricia can be found at the mall almost every day after school, especially when they’re skipping out on babysitting younger siblings (Carmen has a little brother named Tobias, and Tricia has her little cousin Queenie). They’re mostly nice, but they do have a mean streak when it comes to guys - specifically towards Cedrick, his father Faustuz, and Tricia’s uncle Tyrone.
