Tyrone’s grandmother Louella Williams

Both Tricia and Queenie inherited their great-grandmother’s sass and ability to see the occult world, but not her magical powers (Tyrone has no magical abilities or knowledge of the occult community being raised by an aunt and uncle in an upscale neighborhood away from his immediate family); only recently Grammy has been visiting more often since Tricia’s mother’s death and Queenie first started seeing “beyond the veil”.
Tyrone avoids talking about her, often calling her “unhinged”, but both Hr. Dr. Kasper and Cedrick are quite curious about her since they want to learn more about her magical culture for scholarly purposes (they also have Oma Aina whom many ostracize because of her albinism, knowledge of potions, and allowing her daughter Sigrid marry a Kasper).
Like Asia, Grammy doesn’t like Hr. Dr. Kasper - but for different reasons:
Death had attempted to claim her soul in her sleep once (“a brush with Death”) and still remembers seeing his odd-colored eyes leering as she fought him off with her cane; after seeing that her grandson’s friend and coworker has the same odd-eyes, Grammy has always referred Johannes as “that blond pretty boy who almost killed me” (she also doesn’t like Cedrick being around Tricia, often chasing him away whenever she sees him in fear he’ll try to take her soul like Death did).

2.5 hours spent on this pic (not including the primary sketches, which took at least 1 hour to make).
I also used different brushes to color Richard, giving him a paint marker look - basically some coloring practice.

I had made an Insta-Story earlier briefly mentioning about how Richard was developed, but I’ll elaborate here:
Originally Freyja’s father Erik was planned to be Death with a design based of Death in the 1957 Swedish film “The Seventh Seal”, but a scrawny pale man in a black cloak didn’t match up with Erik’s boisterous and proud personality - he’s Viking royalty and making him a weapons maker was the better choice (not to mention he hates Johannes, which wouldn’t work well if he was Death since he’d call Johannes a worthless Grim Reaper for the family business - totally not what Johannes is).

Richard was already written out as an “Angel of Death” - a Viking prince who converted to Christianity, became a cardinal only to be killed by another out of jealousy, and was given immortality by evil spirits to take revenge on the descendants of the man who murdered him; therefore making him Death and having his son working for him made perfect sense.
Richard was also described as handsome and cunning, so it also didn’t make sense to make him look like Death from “The Seventh Seal” (and Richard isn’t Swedish); instead he gets based off of Death in one of my favorite “Twilight Zone” episodes titled “Nothing in the Dark” - Death is a handsome man who finally got an old lady to let him in her home so he could take her soul away to eternity (familiar vibes to how Richard is sent to collect Sigrid’s cursed soul).
The actor who played Death was also a popular heartthrob of the 1970s, making it perfect inspiration - Richard’s fashion sense is stuck in the 1970s, he’s known to be a heartbreaking playboy, and he loves Disco during the 1980s when it was declared dead (adds to the insult of “Old Man” he got from Sigrid when they first met).

Still waiting to get my first “6 Fan Arts” of the year to get filled out while it’s pouring buckets outside…
• After the Valentine’s Day she was rejected by her childhood crush, Sigrid started getting weekly visits from her assigned Grim Reaper.
Initially she was annoyed seeing Richard, especially when her mother doted over him as if he’s a missing son, but over time Sigrid grew to like her unlikely suitor as she learns of their shared interests and how much nicer he was in comparison to Batty; it got to the point she looked forward to his visits and enjoyed having long conversations about life, slowly falling in love with him (even when he revealed his true identity as Death Himself).
• Richard and Sigrid’s romance had been kept secret a year before her classmates discovered them kissing at the local arcade (it was no secret Sigrid had been inviting Richard to trimonthly debutantes under the guise that he was there to observe as her Grim Reaper).
Her stepmother, Headmistress of the academy, hoped Sigrid would spend the rest of her life as the school’s most powerful Witch, but was disappointed Sigrid choose to be expelled after violating the rule against dating as a student; Sigrid soon married Richard and moved to Kiel where they could avoid unwanted attention, leading to the end of her life after giving birth to their son.
• Though Richard loved Sigrid, as Death he was more than eager to snatch out her soul.
Fate assigns top cases such as cursed individuals for Death Himself to take care of personally, but Sigrid’s case was puzzling because Fate ordered him to only observe her before he could finally collect Sigrid’s soul.
It’s not known why Fate Herself allowed Death to woo and marry Sigrid, but it’s hinted that she wants more assistance for Death regarding the Underworld with more wandering souls managing to escape (Johannes is as powerful as his father despite being half human).

But it’s Holiday Season again, so now’s a good time to post it (then archive it, lol).
It’s Papa Kasper dressed up as a Heavy Metal Rocker Christkind.🤘🎸👑

If Papa Kasper had his take on the Christkind, he’d be wearing all black and gold like a rockstar, lol.
(And Jesus totally looks like a metal rocker too… or hippie… huh…🤔)
Despite being stoic, academic, and very by-the-book most of the time, Faustuz does has a bit of a bad boy 1980s-1990s metal rocker that occasionally wants to be channel out (the long hair and singing karaoke with his cousin Hansel kinda hint at it).
Even though their son Cedrick put a lot of effort into making this outfit, there’s no way Mama is passing up the opportunity to have her husband all dolled up in a traditional holiday costume for charity.
I still can’t find a definite reason for the sex swap after lots of research - it’s a bit confusing how Christkind over centuries turned from a baby boy into a grown woman wearing a white and gold dress and huge crown; even vintage cards are often androgynous in regards to Christkind’s sex (just a blonde child with angel wings, white robe, and halo holding an evergreen branch and sack of gifts and often being followed by a deer), but the word “Kind” is gender neutral so… I guess it makes sense in that way?

Richard Kasper with his older brother Heinrich and their younger half-sister Sabrina (mother’s daughter, not a Kasper), circa 1981.
Heinrich was the oldest, a no-nonsense businessman, and originally was the heir of the Kasper’s bloodline until he broke off his betrothal (to Freyja’s mother Sonja) and married Yoko instead.
Despite no longer being the heir, Heinrich was the favorite child of both parents and adored by his younger siblings and family due to his calm and collected temperament.
Heinrich adopted Johannes after Richard returned to his true form as Death, raising him alongside with his own children Hansel and Hannah.
His only vice was chain smoking to ease his nerves, which eventually led to his death from lung cancer in the 1990s.
Sabrina was born a few years after their mother Ida had left the Kasper Family for an American soldier in the 1950s; she grew up spoiled and had little interest in her older siblings, especially with Richard (they both look like their mother and had similar temperaments).
She’s a few years older than Sigrid, but acted much younger with an impulsive temper and need for attention (she also thought Sigrid was a “boring ugly Wicca schoolgirl”, adding to the ire between herself and her second older half-brother).
Sabrina became a lawyer, and has done well with her straightforward and blunt way of taking; lately she’s been hoping to reconnect with her extended family, especially hearing that her nephew has been living in Los Angeles with a famous wife.

Back to the 1980s when men’s neckties were wide and women’s shoulders were big.
(Seriously, I don’t understand the appeal of puffy sleeves and shoulder pads - it’s not a very flattering look for the most part)
It’s not often Sigrid has her hair styled up into a ponytail and wearing something that’s not her school uniform, but when she got the chance to wear stuff not school related she went all out (she made her own dresses based off latest trends).
Richard, on the other hand, was slow to change his style set from the 1970s (he was very frugal about spending money on new clothes, especially since his breakup with his ex-fiancée Sheila).

And personally I do like beer and cider more than wine (I also like spiked fruit-flavored seltzer water and soju 💀).

We finally get an epilogue with these two buds after years being isolated due to COVID-19: they’re back to hanging out at the bar after work!🍻
And it starts off the usual drama that occurs whenever they’re out, especially when Vinnie is around (Vincent-Claude is their boss’ son and Tyrone’s niece Tricia’s Biology/Anthropology professor; whenever he’s doing other work, Hr. Dr. Kasper substitutes for him).
All three are close in age (Millennials born in the 1980s in their mid-late 30s, pushing 40) and spend a lot of time together whenever their personal lives get too stressful.

MerMay is almost over, so here’s a quick drawing of a mythical creature similar to one.

Stern the Amabie was named so by Hr. Dr. Kasper because she basically has the shape of a star. ⭐️
If she’s not in her fishbowl, Stern would probably most likely be bathing in a hot cup of green tea or sitting next to a pile of magazines and reading them with some classical music playing on the background.
Because she’s so small and prone to dehydration, both Hr. Dr. Kasper and his son Cedrick panic whenever she’s away - especially with their pet cat Klimt constantly interested in her (it was actually Klimt that found her in the backyard fallen from a hawk’s nest and brought her as a “gift” for his master).
