🎇 EDIT 8 JANUARY 2020: The original comic version of this post is in Archives. I’m trying different things, but I can tell that short one-page comics aren’t liked so much as the full-page animated pics for obvious reasons. Not making comics could be a bit of a challenge since these are my OCs, and they need occasional stories to make them more interesting aside from the commentary added below each post. ————————————————————— ORIGINAL COMMENTARY: Still might be too raunchy for some people, but if you think that’s raunchy, I’m very capable of drawing something even more revealing that it’ll hurt your eyes (not just nudity, but horrible color combinations as well). - Comment below if you want me to restore the original post of the short comic version on my Feed again; otherwise, it tells me to not make anymore short stories (it’s very apparent that people don’t like it when I try something different like comics or drawing exposed bodies🤦🏻‍♀️). I guess it’s literally back to the drawing board called an iPad Pro... And this time I’ll try to plan out something else that’ll takes up more time since I feel like my presence here in Instagram isn’t needed at the moment. - I was trying for a 1980s style for this pic of Freyja - big hair, string bikini, bigger eyes, over-saturated colors, etc. Even in the last slide I gave poor Johannes Faustuz the 1980s anime look (looks like a mullet, but it’s 80s style). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #animestyle #blue #1980sstyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Freyja is more than happy to show off her family’s brand new weapon to her husband Johannes Faustuz. But he can’t see without his glasses... or can he? 🤔 Freyja likes wearing Faustuz’s aviators as a fashion accessory so he often bumps around until he can find a spare pair of glasses, wears contacts, or uses “Odin’s Eye” to get by. But using his ability makes him prone to exhaustion, leading to irritability and being more grouchy than usual. - Kinda went for a retro 1980s anime style for this one, lol. Freyja’s got big hair while Faustuz has a something like a... mullet? Also stuck with Pantone Classic Blue again because it’s awesome. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #comic #animestyle #blue #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Happy New Year! 🎆 I’ve been really busy with work, but now with one day off, I managed to draw my main OCs in a cutesy style. - Freyja’s hair color and style here matches more with her original design from 2005, but I overall prefer her with redder hair shown in her current design. Johannes Faustuz is by far my most consistent character based on looks, and Cedrick has become more younger, shorter, and “adorkable” considering the fact that he’s supposed to be about fifteen. - The second slide is a pic of them from early 2018 when I started being more active in Instagram; it’s a realistic style I’m not too fond of, and looking back at it now, the colors are nice but very flat. Also, no cute pets - I love including their pets when I can. - Comment below to let me know what style you like more.🤗 —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #character_design #characters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #mother #son #father #doctor #pets #cat #dogs

Last pic of 2019 for me: Cedrick’s first New Year’s Day. - Cedrick was born in October, so his parents were quite busy on New Year’s Day the year before; now three-month-old, Cedrick is very curious of the fireworks outside while Johannes Faustuz is barely able to stay up to welcome the new year. — I’m going to do my best to stay up for 2020 since it’s only once every thousand-ten years (until 9090) we get a double number year, and it’s the start of a new decade. But sleeping like Papa Kasper here is ideal since work starts early in the morning...😣 —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #man #baby #father #son #fatherandson #newyear #fireworks #blue #mangastyle #animestyle #pixaloop #frauv8_ocs

🔊SOUND ON!🎆 — #newyearseve is almost here! It’s going to be #2020! Hopefully all the bad stuff will be hindsight.🤓 - It’s another animated #pixaloop pic with a young Freyja and Johannes Faustuz (most likely nine months before Cedrick was born, lol). And it’s featuring #pantonecoloroftheyear2020 #classicblue.💙 I included the #lineart for anyone who wants to color them in - just tag #colorthisinyourstyle_fv8 @frauv8 so I can easily find your work. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #fireworks #newyears #newyearsday #newyearsday2020 #mangastyle #animestyle #pixaloop #pantone2020 #blue #frauv8_ocs

I’ve been cramming in drawing after drawing all day~😫 Then again, I’m going to be back at work tomorrow, so I’ll have less time for art. - And I drew these lovebirds again...🤦🏻‍♀️ Ever since I was 17, I can’t stop drawing them - they’re just too cute together! I probably should make this a #dtiyschallenge and #colorthisinyourstyle pic (last slide for original sketch). Tag #dtiys_frauv8 or #colorthis_fv8 based on which challenge you want to do. - This time it’s a softer, realistic style with a neutral color scheme. I just love how Freyja’s freckles turned out here (I have a thing for freckles); as for Hr. Dr. Kasper, he has his usual odd-eyes and 😐 face (Johannes Faustuz is not a smiley person - unless he had a perfect cup of coffee, is reading his wife’s magazine, his son did something amazing, or he’s just playing around and being sarcastic). Their faces are zoomed in for a closer look at the details. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #blue #frauv8_ocs

We all know what the current cutest thing is right now - it’s freaking #babyyoda! - Cedrick is one very crafty kid. Training to be a surgeon and being descended from Viking blacksmiths, he’s very skillful with his hands. He’s creative like his mother’s side, able to come up with crazy designs for random stuff like plushies; but like his father’s side, he’s practical in using whatever he has available at the moment, often using old clothes and cheap supplies like cotton balls (it’s Cedrick’s craftiness with unconventional items that inspired the idea of Freyja’s TV show “FLASH FASHION”). - Looking at the supplies shown, the left-handed shears a big deal for the Kaspers since both Cedrick and his mother Freyja are officially left-handed; Johannes Faustuz appears to be right-handed, but he’s been caught left-handed with things such as eating, drinking, using technology, and other small tasks (it’s suspected he was forced to be right-handed due to his aunt’s strict upbringing and grandfather’s superstitious beliefs). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #comic #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #youngman #teenageboy #babyyodaplush #frauv8_ocs

Happy Christmas Day!🎄 And I’m ( 12 x 3 ) - 4. (“Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” if you want to solve how old I am) - This is a quick pic based on an idea for a Pixaloop animation I had in mind, so making it now would be a bit late (I technically have until 6-7 January since some people celebrate Christmas then, and there’s “Christmas in July” too). - So it might be a while before I’ll have time to draw something again since I’ll be back at work, and I’ll be planning out stuff more focused on Mama Kasper and other OCs I haven’t shown much yet; Papa Kasper, Cedrick, the Williamses, and others will still be around, just that I need to try something different for a while since it’s a new year and Mama is as interesting as her boys are - maybe a bit more since she’s a boss lady while her husband does more mundane work as a doctor (Cedrick still has time to decide which side of the family he’ll take after, but it’s quite obvious he likes his father’s work more; the Ström family focuses more on crafting and selling stuff while the Kaspers do research, repair, and removal of things). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #digitalsketch #autodesksketchbook #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #boy #christmas #christmastree #frauv8_ocs

Back in the day when I was a wee student, I made pretend magazine covers. You’d think I’d be making tons of them now since I make promo graphics for a living, but nope. Well, I just randomly felt like making one for Freyja, and I did a lot of looking at fashion magazines. TBH, a lot of fashion magazines have too much text in front that it distracts from the photo. BUT it is a thick stack of paper ads with articles so I understand why there’s a lot of headlines on the cover, but then there’s a table of contents... *sigh* - Growing up in the 90s to early 2000s, there were lots of gorgeous supermodels and actresses that were all over the magazines and TV. Freyja is kinda a combination of Heidi Klum and Nicole Kidman, but a bit more Klum since Freyja is a model/TV host like her (“FLASH FASHION” is kinda an ode to “PROJECT RUNWAY”). - The magazine name should look familiar if you’ve looked carefully at some of my previous pics (check the last 2 slides and zoom in to find it). “DER MODISCHE” (“The Fashionable One”) is the name of Freyja’s magazine; “MODERN” was added in to emphasize the English on the cover, though I looked it up and in Swedish “modern” could mean “fashionable” (“mode” is “fashion” in both German and Swedish). - The art style is also softer, more realistic compared to my usual work. I also made sure Freyja has her freckles this time (she’s strawberry-blonde, so she should have them). And she’s only wearing lingerie, so Cedrick’s going to be quite embarrassed seeing his mother in every hospital waiting room and father’s office for the next month. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #characterdesign #characterstudy #femalecharacter #fashion #magazinecover #frauv8_ocs

Instant translation 1️⃣🇩🇪↔️🇺🇸2️⃣ I also included the line art for coloring - just tag #frauv8colorthisin @frauv8 - 📝STORY BEHIND THE PIC:📝 1992 was a tough year for the Kaspers: Uncle Heinrich died, Hansel was at university, Hannah ran away from home for a month. This left Aunt Yoko alone with Johannes Faustuz. Yoko really wanted patriarch Olaf to take care of Faustuz when he was orphaned as a toddler; Heinrich didn’t want their nephew to be raised by “a xenophobic man who still believes in the old ways”. Reluctantly, Yoko continues raising Faustuz just as her husband wanted. For Johannes Faustuz, bullying from his classmates gets worse, leading him to constant fights and suspensions. Because he can’t go back to school, Faustuz is stuck with Yoko at the public library where she works. There he easily reads up on all kinds of knowledge and literature - and meets Freyja (she was a Swedish foreign exchange student in his class, but never approached him because everyone else told her that “Hothead Hans” is trouble). - Skip ahead to December 23rd. Since it’s during the holiday season, only Yoko, Hansel, and Hannah were there for his 11th birthday. Not able to afford much, they bought a new pair of glasses to replace his broken ones; Hannah also baked Neapolitan cupcakes since they’re not red and green. But it wasn’t any of his family’s gifts that caused tears of joy - it was a folded piece of white paper mailed to him. Freyja’s handwriting in the front wishes him a happy birthday, originally in Swedish but then crossed out and rewritten so he can understand; inside it reads “I’m sorry that I can only send you a card, but I didn’t want you to have nothing from anyone from school. To make it up, I’ll make sure you get a really big Valentine’s Day present. I’ll see you either in class or at the library after New Year’s Day.” (Keep “a really big Valentine’s Day present” in mind for a future pic of Freyja and Faustuz) —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #cupcake #birthday #mangastyle #animestyle #pixaloop #frauv8_ocs

Wunderkind’s Notes (aka Cedrick Kasper) on the Yule goat, or “Julbock” in Swedish. - There’s A LOT of lore to the Yule goat (as well as the Yule boar and Yule log, which are all tied together with the Christmas tree). The goat was one of many kinds of livestock offered to the gods during the Yule, and is a major part of Norse mythology. Men would also dress up as goats to give out gifts and offerings (this and Odin flying in the sky with his eight-legged horse reenforces the idea an old bearded White man with eight reindeer - aka Santa Claus). There is just so much to mention about this curious, cute little ornament. - As for the burning part, it’s not encouraged to burn the Yule goat since it’s now considered a beloved cuddly creature. But you can burn your own straw ornament as an ode to the days when goats were sacrificed for the blessing of a successful new year - just don’t burn the Gälve goat. You’ll definitely be jailed for vandalism and arson. - As for the Kaspers, Cedrick LOVES burning the countless tiny straw goats his mother buys from IKEA (she buys too many, and what teenager wouldn’t like to burn stuff). But he’s never gone so far as to burning the family’s heirloom Julbock since he knows it’s priceless since his Viking ancestors made it - plus it’s made mostly of gold and steel so it can’t quite burn up completely. Johannes Faustuz has a strong hatred for the holiday season, so he also enjoys watching the goats burn up in flames. Sometimes he even wishes that there’s also a real goat for the blood ritual, but that’s where his wife Freyja and even Krampus himself would intervene and talk him out of his disgust for the “jolly holidays” (the word “Jolly” also came from “Yule”). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #notes #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #yule #yulegoat #julbock #holidayseason #christmas

Quick “Wunderkind’s Notes” on the turkey. Cedrick just thinks turkey is just an overrated big bird (which it is; I actually like roasted chicken or duck better). - Yes, Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the USA (turkeys are actually quite aggressive birds, just not very pretty to look at). And yes, turkey meat (if not cooked right) is dry and needs a heavy dose of gravy to make it more enjoyable. And cranberry sauce... don’t eat the canned stuff if you can avoid it. - The second slide is a written script of the spin-off to last year’s Tyrone’s turkey troubles. Kinda has a Goofy instructional video vibe to it, a little meta since the Kaspers are talking to the audience, but overall it’s so silly and not really worth making into a comic. (Seriously, who wants to hear Cedrick speak in sexy anatomical terms on how to carve a turkey?) Not all my comics have prepared scripts, and lots of times the final isn’t like the original. But I do get random inspiration from mythology, fairy tales, and pop culture as well as character quirks - therefore you never know what and when I’ll cough up a comic. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #notes #turkey #script
