#mothersday is just around the corner~ - I don’t draw Cedrick with Freyja that often, especially as a teenager/young adult; mostly him as a baby or child. And often times people think Freyja is his girlfriend, not his mother. 🤣😅🤦🏻‍♀️ Also doesn’t help that Cedrick looks just like his father, only smaller, younger, and with much shorter hair. - Feel free to color the #lineart - just tag me @frauv8 and #colorthisinyourstyle. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #mother #son #motherson #blue #green

Felt like drawing in a different, simple style with a fun color scheme. — Cedrick Kasper Surgeon/Lab Assistant AGE: 15 DOB: 13 October♎️ HEIGHT: 182cm - 6’0” BLOOD TYPE: AB •Cedrick is a wunderkind, graduated from medical school only at age 14. He’s currently training to become a surgeon specializing in augmented and virtual reality, and works with his father as his lab assistant. He’s very talented and sharp, but can be a bit of a hothead if he’s overwhelmed with work. He’s still a child trying to get better with his social skills, making him vulnerable to others close to his age. - (Johannes) Faustuz Kasper Oncologist/Geneticist AGE: 40 DOB: 23 December♑️ HEIGHT: 195cm - 6’4” BLOOD TYPE: AB •Faustuz is a strict no-nonsense doctor constantly working on lab work diagnosing various types of cancers and diseases. Coworkers nicknamed him “The White Grim Reaper” due to his accuracy of how long a patient has left to live. He’s the director’s right-hand man always keeping things in order, making almost everyone afraid of him. Despite his stoic and somewhat crass uptight behavior, the Herr Doktor has a kind heart towards everyone and can be a bit dorky when explaining his work. - Both father and son are from Kiel, Germany and work together at a hospital in Los Angeles, California, USA. They also have the same blood type, hair color (styled differently), and are both lactose intolerant (why Faustuz drinks black coffee and Cedrick has energy drinks and soy lattes). Cedrick has heterochromia iridum, or odd-eyes, which he inherited from his father (Faustuz has sectoral heterochromia while Cedrick has complete heterochromia). Both are very tall, Cedrick quickly catching up with his father; both are also ectomorphs, having high metabolisms and constantly fighting each other for food to replenish their energy. With all these similarities, it’s no wonder why people think Cedrick is a clone of Faustuz. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacters #charactersheet #characterdesign #father #son #fatherandson #doctors #glasses #labcoat #blond #green #white #pink

Today I just went with the first #drawthisinyourstyle challenge that appeared on my feed, and it was @pernilleoerum’s #drawthispernille challenge. I try not to do anything uber popular because I want to draw ones by lesser known artists for obvious reasons (less of them, plus give them some attention and love). But hey, what can I do when I was already committed in doing whatever challenge that first shows up.😑 - Feel free to suggest any other challenges down in the comments if you want me to draw another one. — #drawing #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #girl #woman #female #femalecharacter #longhair #white #pink #cyan #dtiys

Poor Cedrick trying to be nice with Tricia this time now that he knows she plays the same app he plays when he’s not busy. - Normally these two don’t get along with Tricia always ditching babysitting duty, and Cedrick having to help her with homework and babysitting in her place. Tricia also refers Cedrick as either “Dutch Boy” or “Dork” because of his appearance, awkwardness, and being a few years younger than her. Cedrick doesn’t think much of her other than being a bully and lazy, but also full of potential if she can get her act together for a sports scholarship (she’s a great volleyball player). Maybe they’ll get along later in life, but until then as teenagers, there’s room to grow up. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacters #autodesksketchbook #teenagers #onthephone #teengirl #teenboy

Another #digitaldrawing via #autodesksketchbook. I included the #lineart for anyone who wants to color Cedrick in. Tag it #colorthisyourstyle @frauv8 so I can see your version. 🤗 - With the way I colored Cedrick, he’s wearing a grey tank top, black track pants, green Germany track jacket, and Adidas sandals with colorful techno bands. - Cedrick is also eating a bag of his favorite candy: salted black licorice. Salted black licorice originated in Northern Europe and was used as medicine for coughs and clearing airways (basically cough drops). It’s an appropriate favorite candy for my OC because he is from Kiel, Germany - it borders Scandinavia where the candy is popular. Cedrick is also a doctor, so it’s kinda a nod to licorice’s medicinal use. But it’s not an everyday treat or else it’s a trip to the hospital. - Side Note 📝: Are those #haribo salted black licorice pretzels any good? I always liked black licorice (my brother and I as little kids would pick out the black jellybeans because they were black licorice flavored), but I never had it salted. I’ve heard it’s gross, but that’s also because a lot of Americans don’t really like black licorice in the first place. — #digitalart #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #originalcharacter #malecharacter #blond #blondhairblueeyes #bowlcut #adidas #bagofcandy #sportswear #athleisure #athleticwear #trackpants #trackjacket #sitting

“Where’d you go?” - Freyja with two heaping servings of her “Kraken Surprise” for her husband and son, who are trying their best to hide from her. - So what’s in her infamous meal besides giant squid tentacles? Freyja often adds in frozen TV dinners, bratwurst, mashed cauliflower, lingonberry jam, and all kinds of questionable food items. Rarely it tastes good, but 99% of the time it’ll lead to upset stomach and vomiting. - It’s not a good #drawing, but it’s something to break up the silence. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #family #motherfatherson #dinner #dinnergonewrong

I got really bored this time... It’s not good if I’m drawing a character working instead of something more imaginative. 😓 I’ll try something else tomorrow... - As mentioned from previous character notes, Cedrick is a prodigy surgeon working with VR and augmented reality. Cedrick not only wears a headset for assistance during surgeries, but he also can operate anywhere using game controllers to move robotic instruments as if he’s there. It sounds like sci-fi, but the tech is actually being used right now in real life. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #originalcharacter #malecharacter #doctor #surgeon #vrsurgery

Poor Cedrick stuck taking care of Tobias and Queenie while Carmen and Tricia skip out from babysitting duty. (I know the feeling - I used to watch over other people’s kids when I was a youngster. Most kiddos were good, but a few did make me want to tear my hair out in frustration.) - Couldn’t decide whether I wanted #glasses or no glasses on Cedrick, so I have both versions. As usual, Cedrick is wearing something with “the brand with the three stripes” (it’s based off an actual Adidas sweater), and still has a trendy #bowlcut. Tobias has a #buzzcut hairstyle, while Queenie has #afropigtails as usual. - Cedrick is often stuck being a “boysitter” and doesn’t like being around other kids despite being a kid himself. As for Tobias and Queenie, they love being around Cedrick since he’s often much nicer to them compared to their older siblings. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #originalcharacters #malecharacter #children #teenager #teenageboy #boys #girl #babysitter #babysitting #sweaters #purple #green #pink

When management decides to change the work schedule in short notice, especially when you were expecting a later call time with less work after working through the holidays. In Cedrick’s case, he’s being forced to take on more shifts and assignments on top of his usual work. - I’ve been working December 26th, 28th, 29th, 30th, and today (31st). I also work tomorrow for New Year’s Day, get two days off, then back to work January 4th, 5th, and 6th. And throughout all these days, post times had been made earlier with more races crammed in; therefore, it means having to drive through heavier traffic at the end of the day and getting less sleep waking up early to beat the morning rush. 😑 But hey, it gets the bills paid so I can’t complain too much. - Anyway, I couldn’t decide which version to post, so here’s all 6. Comment below to let me know which one looks the best. Tyrone, Leyon, and Johannes Faustuz taking a break with drinks of... #eggnog? #hotapplecider? #wassail? Okay, maybe not wassail because that’s drinking in the job, lol. Whatever it is, a #festivedrink even though they’re working during the holidays. (I work every holiday except Christmas; that means for this upcoming work week it’s the 26th thru January 1st 😫) - Aside from being doctors, these three are fathers. Being the youngest, Tyrone often asks for advice about raising his little toddler daughter Queenie and his teenage niece Tricia. Only caveat is that both Leyon and Faustuz have sons. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacters #doctors #breakroom #drinking #mugs #holidaydrinks

Doctor Leyon DeValuer and Herr Doktor Cedrick Kasper. - It’s not often you see the director wearing #scrubs but he does wear them occasionally, especially when he’s overseeing Cedrick performing operations with his father Johannes Faustuz. Leyon loves to randomly show up and loom around, which scares most people at the hospital. But often times he’s busy with meetings and administrative functions, leaving a lot of work to his protege Faustuz. - If he’s not wearing Adidas sneakers with mismatched socks, Cedrick wears slippers; this time he’s rocking out some #pinkslippers. Why slippers? Well, I remember when I was learning some German back in the day, there’s a phrase about putting on one’s slippers meaning to hurry up and go out to do something quickly (I seriously cannot remember how to say it 😑). It’s something that stuck to mind that suits Cedrick not because he’s German, but he’s always in a rush running around (there’s reasons behind many things regarding my characters’ designs; feel free to ask about them). - I’ll be making Part 2 soon - we’ll finally get to see the mutant fruit flies this time. — #originalcharacters #malecharacters #charactersheet #blond #brunet #doctors #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #digitalart #digitaldrawing #frauv8_ocs

Like Tricia, 55F/13C is #freezing for most people here in SoCal. Even 65F/18C is considered #cold for some people I know at work (which I think is crazy because I think it’s perfect 😎). Me? Hmm... I’d start complaining when it gets below 40F/4C, which happens to be about the same temperature inside the production truck I work in during the winter. I don’t mind the cold during the day; it’s just when the sun goes down or when I’m stuck inside for work is when I start getting uncomfortable, especially if I’m not wearing the right clothes. And I know there’s colder than 40F/4C - it’s snowed here once four years ago, and even that is obviously not the coldest it can get. There’s always someplace else that’s much colder. For Cedrick, his hometown Kiel borders Scandinavia where it’s definitely freezing. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #comicpage #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #teenagers #fauxfurcoat #tanktop #ipadproart #ipaddrawing

Page 6. And Cedrick is speaking English, just in technical terms, lol. Maybe it’s just his accent that make it all sound so foreign.
