Finally got it done! @not_hrstrom done in 9 different cartoon art styles, and this was a very timely project - especially not being used to drawing and coloring in these art styles. (swipe right for a closer look of each version of Hr. Dr. Kasper) - Which art style is your favorite? Cedrick is currently the youngest member of the Kasper Family, the next heir after his father Johannes Faustuz (he could have a little brother and/or sister if his parents wanted to). It’s said that he resembles both grandfathers Erik Ström and Richard Kasper, but Freyja disagrees and calls Cedrick a mini version of his father (Faustuz thinks he’s more like his mother, always curious and admiring new things). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #boy #green #yellow #frauv8_ocs

Richard and Sigrid c. 1979-1980 - Richard spoiled Sigrid with numerous gifts and trinkets over the months he visited Aina’s flower shop, hoping to win Sigrid’s heart and treat her with the best care until her death from her father’s curse due in less than two years. Initially Sigrid was cautious and annoyed, especially with him being a foreigner, an older man known for having numerous relationships, and his family’s history. But over time, she grew more curious about him, wondering why he hasn’t pursued another after so long; Sigrid began to personally accept Richard’s offerings, inspecting each one for its detail and authenticity, and even started wearing some of the pieces of jewelry and perfume given to her at high school. It wasn’t until Richard fell seriously ill with Lovesickness, passing out and near death when Sigrid realized how much she actually loved him. Richard had to recover in her room, leading to a more intimate moment and permanently cementing their relationship as a couple. They were engaged February 1981, married in March, and had their only child in December before Sigrid died from her father’s curse. — #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #man #woman #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #ipaddrawing #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #flowershop #room #roomaesthetic #yellow #orange #pink #green #blue #white #red #lineart

Another random quick outfit/pose drawing of this guy... Wasn’t sure which expression to do, so I included both. I’m still trying to figure out something more elaborate to draw for the season, but with work and feeling depressed about the state of where I live in comparison to other places in the world, it’s getting harder to look forward to making new things (and my birthday is coming up: it’s on Christmas Eve and 2020 is my “Jesus year” - more reason to hate this year). — #malecharacter #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #characterdesign #fashion #man

Day 24 Gardener •Overalls •Buttoned Shirt •Sun Hat •Boots •Shovel - Hr. Dr. Kasper takes after his mother Sigrid in regards to plants, especially flowers (he’s also been told that he looks a lot like her, only much taller and blond like his father Richard). Having a green thumb is his only connection with her since she had died soon after he was born; as a child, he would always ask his grandmother Aina about his mother and what plants were her favorites to grow (Hydrangeas, Cornflowers, Irises, and Tulips). Because his lay knowledge of plants, he has set up a large garden for his wife Freyja to enjoy when she’s home from work; lots of little creatures like Rosemarie and her fellow fairies also enjoy staying in the fairy houses set up in the Kaspers’ garden. Johannes Faustuz also grows some vegetables and fruits to feed certain creatures since they can’t easily find their source of food in these modern times (Turnips for Wolpertingers, Eggplants for Hyōsubes, Etc.). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #outfitoftheday #digitalink #gardener

Day 4: Activewear Outfit 1 •Tank Top •Leggings •Running Shoes - His outfit has a lot of color, making him more visible as he jogs; Johannes Faustuz also makes sure people can see his mask to show that it doesn’t affect his breathing as he exercises. “It’s not that hard to wear a piece of fabric for a few hours a day to save lives. We do so whenever we click on a seat belt before driving a car, so what’s the difference with face masks?” He’s also been having quite a bit of schadenfreude with recent news, but does hope people will finally put their politics aside and realize the scientific importance of wearing masks to slow the spread more than ever (he’s a doctor after all). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #man #inktober #inktober2020 #clothing #outfit #outfitoftheday #digitalink #digitalinktober #digitalinktober2020

From the “Scrap Pile”: The Kasper Siblings: Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz. - Hansel and Hannah never were close with Faustuz due to their large age gap (8 years and 6 years respectively), and thought of him as the reason of their beloved “Auntie Sigrid’s” death when he was born; this gets compounded when Richard dies almost a year later from being overwhelmed with illness, raising a son on his own, and work abroad in Africa as an Epidemiologist. Even Faustuz’s physical appearance alienated him from his older cousins since he’s not half Japanese like they are, making people question whether if he’s a result of an affair when he’s the orphaned son of their father’s younger brother (making his relationship with his aunt Yoko complicated). All these factors put a strain on their relationship as siblings. But after the death of Heinrich in 1992, Hansel and Hannah slowly grew to accept their younger cousin and enjoy his presence since he reminds them of their father - especially when he becomes an adult and takes after Heinrich’s no-nonsense mindset (as well as Sigrid’s kindness and Richard’s devotion). Because he’s tall and blond like Heinrich, occasionally Hansel and Hannah get the feels and have the urge to hug Faustuz out of nostalgia for their father. Whenever Faustuz returns to Kiel and works at the hospital performing surgery, he’s accompanied with his oldest cousin Hansel as his nurse (Hannah owns restaurants around the world and Yoko still works as a librarian with Hansel’s oldest daughter Evangeline; there’s more distant relatives in the Kasper Family who’ll be mentioned whenever). — #digitalart #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #siblings #family #frauv8_ocs

Crazy what a difference a year can be... - After a long shift at work at the hospital, Tyrone and Johannes Faustuz would often hit the bar for a beer or two to relax. Since COVID-19 hit, the two can no longer hangout with Tyrone still working at the hospital and Faustuz indefinitely furloughed (now working at home as a substitute professor). But timed right, Tyrone and Faustuz find a moment to share a toast and chat online. - •Side Note: TBH, I kinda envy my OCs because I don’t have close friends; since leaving school and other factors (I’d rather not mention out loud), I’ve lost contact with past friends and pen pals over the years, only having immediate family, my husband, and coworkers to keep me company (in other words, I’ve been living the quarantine life even before it was a thing, lol). So drawing and interacting with others on IG are integral to keeping the mind off the loneliness and boredom during this tough time; if I can entertain and inspire others here, then my work is worth it. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #malecharacters #friends #originalcharacters #comic #animestyle #2019vs2020

It’s Papa Kasper’s turn to work at home as a Biology 101 professor in place of Vinnie DeValeur (Prof. DeValeur has some family matters in France at this time). And like Freyja, Faustuz has his moments with the cat, their son, and technology (in this case, rolling blackouts due to the extreme weather here in California). If I have to make another one of these shorts, it’d be Papa Ström constantly asking for help since he’s not very tech savvy. - •BONUS OC FACTS: Now we know what Cedrick’s middle name is, lol. “Magnus” was the original name Richard wanted for Faustuz, but Sigrid hated it and wanted a more formal and traditional name. When Sigrid died after giving birth, Richard kept her wish by naming their son “Johannes Faustuz”; knowing this story, Faustuz made it Cedrick’s middle name. Cedrick got his name because it means “loving ruler” from the Celtic word “Cariad” meaning “Love”, and root “-rik/ric/rich” meaning “King” (just like Erik, Richard, and Heinrich - all important family members to the Kaspers and Ströms). Cedrick’s mother Freyja is also a big fan of literature, so it’s also a nod to “Ivanhoe”, “Little Lord Flauntleroy”, and of course, “Harry Potter”. ——— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #femalecharacter #malecharacter #man #boy #cat #chibi #chibistyle #kawaii #cute #stayhome #workfromhome #workathome #frauv8_ocs

Looks like Sigrid was caught eying Richard from her mother’s flower shop... - It seems like these two had been becoming more popular according to stats. Maybe because it’s the fact they’re from 1980 (aesthetics of the 1970s-90s are in), look cute together as a couple (though in today’s standards Richard most likely wouldn’t be allowed to date Sigrid since he’s 23 and she’s 16), or that their story is very romantic but also a sad one (they both die within a year from each other, leaving their son behind to be raised by his extended family). Maybe it’s all three? Either way, I try my best to mix things up. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #couple #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #girl #flowers #plants #window #glasses #animestyle #frauv8_ocs

Quick #charactersheet of Officer Rodriguez and Hr. Dr. Kasper. Hopefully my cursive is readable (I’ll write it all down in separate comments below). Slide 2 is an old pic from May 2018. — How did these two first characters meet? Granger was actually on patrol duty when Johannes Faustuz was out chasing after lost souls late at night. Initially she thought he was a mentally ill person on the loose, so she tackled him, handcuffed him, and stuffed him into the back of her tiny car. It wasn’t until she saw the glowing odd-colored eyes Granger realized she not only caught a Grim Reaper like herself, but a rare monster slayer of legends; she felt even more ashamed when she found out he’s also a doctor from her local hospital. Poor Faustuz had to be picked up by his father-in-law after Granger released him (you can imagine what that conversation was like when they hate each other); it’s also why whenever he hears police sirens nearby on the street, he gets panic attacks, afraid he’d be tackled, shoved into a tiny space, and taken away to an unknown location (pretty relevant right now for lots of people...😑) - Since then, their paths cross often since they both live/work in the Los Angeles area; occasionally they collaborate, but Granger doesn’t like newcomers encroaching on her home turf (she hasn’t met Cedrick yet, so...) Granger also refers to the Herr Doktor as “Juanito”, which he absolutely hates (“Juanito” is like saying “Johnny Boy” - it’s a nickname of endearment; “Johannes” is an original version of “John”, which is “Juan” in Spanish, so it’s actually an accurate nickname for him). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #characterdesign #malecharacter #femalecharacter #frauv8_ocs

Rewinding back to July 1981 with Sigrid and Richard. No matter how much he turns on the charm, there’s no way in Hell she’s sharing her ice cream when baby cravings hit. - Both Richard and Sigrid wear aviators/glasses, which their son Johannes Faustuz also does. Sigrid is also wearing a green polka dot dress similar to what Princess Diana wore in the 1980s. Richard is wearing a T-shirt with a sailboat and “KIEL” on it, a nod to where the Kaspers come from and where usually in the end of June/early July a large gathering of boats occurs.⛵️ *** Once again, I’m hunkered down. Work has been canceled until the 24th due to a number of people who tested positive for COVID-19. As far as I know, I haven’t been exposed to anyone sick, but with those who tested positive at work being asymptomatic really makes me nervous. And of course I won’t qualify for a test because I don’t have the classic COVID-19 symptoms or had contact with any with symptoms (my allergies, on the other hand, have been driving me crazy). Regardless, it’ll be a two week quarantine period for everyone’s safety. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #pixaloop #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #couple #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #icecream #pregnant #glasses #animestyle #frauv8_ocs

Finally finished this one - Yay!😄 I made the original sketch all the way back in early May; that’s like two months ago.😬 - Poor Cedrick has fallen victim to the “Lockdown” haircut by his mother Freyja; he normally gets a bowlcut/undercut with fade, but desperate times means a botched haircut that’s too short in the front and uneven in the back. As for Tricia, she’s blessed with a family who are experts with hair (her aunt Asia owns a hair and nail salon), so seeing a bad haircut really makes her laugh. —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #teenageboy #blond #femalecharacter #teenagegirl #teenagers #fashion #bowlcut #lockdownhair #afrobun #animestyle #pink #red #blue #green #yellow #frauv8_ocs
