#repost of an old favorite pic of Cedrick celebrating Summer with almond milk ice cream because he and his father are both lactose intolerant.
-
Personally I’ve been craving ice cream more since the pandemic made it harder to shop for groceries. It’s also a big deal for me when I see ice cream made out of milk alternatives because I’m practically lactose intolerant (I can eat small amounts of dairy without a trip to the toilet; yogurt and cheese are much easier to digest versus whipped cream and flan desserts).
-
And I’m going to try getting some needed sleep before I attempt drawing that new pic I said I would draw on Father’s Day - I’ve been sleep deprived because of a little orange fur-baby.

He looks so sinister...
Wonder what this guy is up to.
It’s not everyday Hr. Dr. Kasper wears a suit.
-
It’s been a while since I’ve made a pic this detailed with effects, or any pics at all for the last few days (I’ve been bogged down with work, including a double shift). I’m cat-sitting my father-in-law’s cat Sammy for several days, so that might affect my ability to post stuff regularly. I’ve also been a bit uninspired, so drawing something like this is an accomplishment (believe me - I’ve been feeling really exhausted trying to make something).
-
I still want to make more “Closer Looks” of OCs, so feel free to comment which OCs should be featured as a story highlight (I’ll repost the story on my feed). Otherwise, I’ll be lazy yet busy (if that makes any sense).

Ragnar Axel Ström
AGE: 45
D.O.B.: 22 April 1976
ZODIAC SIGNS: Taurus / Dragon
BLOOD TYPE: A
HEIGHT: 189cm / 6’2”
-
Ragnar is the oldest of the Ström nephews, the oldest son of Björn Ström (Erik’s second youngest brother, middle son of Aki). He takes after his uncle, but is much more soft-spoken and mindful of other’s emotions. Like Erik, Ragnar is skilled in blacksmithing; he’s in charge of manufacturing in STRÖM CORPORATIONS.
His relationship with his cousin Freyja is definitely a big brother/little sister dynamic, always protective and supportive of her. But this bond was tested when he married her fashion rival Vivian, who for long while overshadowed Freyja’s fashion career and forced her into working for the family company and editorial work.
Ragnar has a younger brother named Werner who also works with him as a product designer and engineer.

Freyja Avis Ström
AGE: 39
D.O.B.: 30 June 1982
ZODIAC SIGNS: Cancer / Dog
BLOOD TYPE: A
HEIGHT: 170cm / 5’7”
-
Heiress of STRÖM CORPORATIONS and the only child of Erik Ström, Freyja was practically raised and treated as if she was a princess. But because of family discernment of having a female in charge in the near future, Freyja had to work hard and prove that she can lead and fight just as well as a man.
She works with her father and four cousins on top of being a fashion supermodel, magazine editor, TV show host for “FLASH FASHION”, wife, and mother.
Like her father, Freyja enjoys charity events and helping people in need; in the ending segment of her TV show, she promotes businesses that are family owned and surprise visits cancer patients who are fans.
Initially the family thought she would marry one of her cousins, especially Gunnar since he’s the closest in age and has a friendship with her. But instead she married Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper, a boy she met randomly while visiting a library in Kiel during one of her father’s business trips; she then recognizes him as a classmate when she was a foreign exchange student. The two had been inseparable despite their differences in social class, native languages, and living far apart in different countries. Her father Erik doesn’t like Hr. Dr. Kasper because of his family’s dark history, but does appreciate the fact that Freyja picked a self-made man and is knowledgeable of the mythical and occult. Her cousins were all relieved she didn’t marry any of them because they don’t want Erik as their father-in-law as well as bear the responsibility of being in charge of the family business.
Freyja also has a son - an energetic, very social, moody teenage Wunderkind named Cedrick. Her relationship with her son can be strained due to her constant absence with work and trying to patch things up with toys and gadgets, but they bond having conversations in Swedish and putting jigsaw puzzles together.

It’s been getting hot again, so here’s a hot daddy with his son.😆
-
And was it really an 70s-80s thing for dads to wear only gym shorts while holding their babies for photos?
(even I had a photo of me as a baby with my dad in gym shorts sitting on one of those wicker chairs in the late 80s - gotta admit it’s cute seeing tiny me overwhelmed by my giant dad 😂)

•1️⃣1972 - Heinrich & Richard
•2️⃣1997 - Hansel & Johannes
(Heinrich’s & Richard’s sons)
-
There’s a lot of similarities between the siblings and generations, but there’s also obvious and subtle differences.
Hansel is half Japanese, so he has a slightly darker complexion and dark brown hair and brown eyes; Faustuz has his father’s coloring, but it’s said that he has his mother’s face (though he also looks a lot like his uncle).
All blond Kaspers also tend to inherit heterochromia, which is the one defining trait that makes them stand out amongst the few families left in the world involved with managing monsters and dealing with matters of the occult and Death himself.
-
Cedrick will be 15, but he doesn’t have a sibling to recreate this pic; his father could sit in place as the older brother/cousin - unless Cedrick becomes a big brother within a year (not likely, but Freyja and Faustuz are young enough to have another kid if they want).
-
Looking up clothes from the past was actually quite fun.
Might draw some more flashback fashion pics with my OCs.

Cedrick in so much green - just like Kermit and Billie.
💚🐸🩲
And he’s using a scrunchie to tie up his Lockdown hairstyle, which Queenie calls the “Mini-Hans” (when she really means “Mini Man-Bun”).
Despite the quarantine, he got a coffee drink and phone in hand as usual.
-
There’s a few Pantone colors not featured in the slides (can only have 10), mainly the line art, coffee, skin, and skull.
Any guesses on what Pantone color number the skull is colored in with?
Comment below!☺️

I remade it - yay!
(and a bonus doodle on Slide 3)
-
Most of you voted for color, but I included a monochromatic version on Slide 4; I used Pantone colors, the colored version with Biscay Green 15-5718 in the background, and both versions using Bone White 12-0105 for their clothes and Moonless Night 19-4203 for the line art.
-
The original version of this was me smearing brushes around - which usually happens when I’m really tired and unmotivated, which then perpetuates a vicious cycle of disappointment and dissatisfaction (you can see the original version on Slide 5).
There’s still something nice about the rough sketch (Slide 7) because of the looser lines compared to the finish versions.

It’s #internationalnursesday!
Yay for nurses!
-
My grandma (Dad’s mom) was a nurse, and lots of aunties are/were nurses (I’m half Filipina; it’s a stereotype for Filipinos and other Asians to be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists but it’s so~ true😅).
Despite having nurses on both sides of the family, I don’t have enough empathy and patience with people to be one (I’ve had people say I look like one, especially now with masks, headbands, and my oversized shirts and Adidas jerseys which resembles scrubs); if I had money for medical school, I’d probably be a geneticist, textbook illustrator, or maybe even a coroner or forensic anthropologist (I actually liked dissecting dead things and looking at bones; it’s sick living people that freak me out the most).
-
Nurses are often in the shadows of their doctor counterparts, but they’re often the ones doing all the grunt work and checking up on the patients, making them feel better and less afraid; nurses are also mostly female, making them super women.
-
Kimiko Abe is the Kaspers’ assigned nurse when they’re working in Los Angeles; when they’re back home in Kiel, it’s Hansel - making it a Kasper trifecta.
Kimiko is petite, often tries pulling off work she’s not quite ready for, and gets so scared that she often hides behind Hr. Dr. Kasper, but she’s very compassionate and does everything she can to put smiles on patients’ faces.
Hansel is quick jotting down data and so skilled at drawing blood that patients barely feel a thing; the only thing that gets on Hr. Dr. Kasper’s nerves is when his cousin starts flirting with their patients (Hansel has been married three times, and had numerous failed relationships over the years; the last thing Faustuz would want is both nurses meeting each other because he knows Hansel would be all over Kimiko).
-
Anyway, we can’t hug our nurses, but we can cheer them on and help out by making masks, gowns, and button headbands for them.

A little break from the Yōkai Project with the three Kasper guys in their career attire.
All three have day jobs in the medical field, while after hours they deal with the mythical, mysterious, and occult.

There’s Cedrick!
He’s really not happy with the Lockdown haircut his mother Freyja gave him, not that it’s much different from his usual Bowlcut - just much shorter and a little uneven in the back (the Lockdown is practically a botched Bowlcut/Fade/Undercut 😬).
He understands why his father Johannes Faustuz has long hair (no need for constant haircuts), but it’s a pain to maintain (tangles, gets in your eyes, shampooing, etc.).
-
There’s 4 versions and the rough WIP sketch.
In the background is the word “LOCKDOWN” in German, English, Swedish, and Japanese; his shirt says “DEATH” in Danish (German, Japanese, English, Swedish, and Danish are the languages the Kaspers are fluent with).
-
Comment below to let me know which one (1-4) you like most.

#happymothersday!
(One day too late...)
I’m not a mother, but I’m appreciative for what all mothers do (I know I am for my mom).
I can’t imagine how crazy it is to be a parent in these confined spaces and times, or having a baby with a scary virus floating around; and of course many nurses and doctors are mothers risking their lives for others.
Kudos to all of these women.
-
So... Who’s this?
This is the woman Hr. Dr. Kasper gets his middle (and preferred) name from - his mother Sigrid Faustus.
She died a day after giving birth, but not before having a chance to hold her newborn son for a quick photograph.
His father Richard originally wanted to name him “Magnus” meaning “Great”, but after his mother’s death around Christmas, he was named “Johannes” meaning “God is gracious“.
Faustuz has been told that he looks like his mother, but it’s hard to say - Kasper men tend to have blond hair and odd-colored eyes just like their fathers before them (Hansel doesn’t because he’s half Japanese); but he definitely has long straight hair just like hers.

Looks like these two are on good terms again. ☺️
(and hopefully less friction between her and “the other man”)
Asia finally got what she wanted for Mother’s Day - a lot of time together with her husband Tyrone, away from his coworker and the kids.

One thing Tyrone really remembers about his wife:
“Asia likes green.”
(This fact was revealed when these two guys went lingerie shopping for Valentine’s Day)
-
The suit was originally made for Papa Ström, but he never wore it because he hated the color and modern style (modern suits have a slimmer coat and skinny or straight leg pant).
Johannes Faustuz happened to find it stashed in the attic collecting dust and thought it might fit Tyrone (“Why let a perfectly made suit go to waste if someone else can wear it?”); the jacket mostly fits, but the pants are slightly short and loose at the waist (Tyrone is taller than Erik by two inches but weighs about the same).
If Faustuz hadn’t found this suit, he planned on lending a loose-fitting cardigan for Tyrone to wear on top of a collared shirt since nothing else from his closet would fit (Faustuz is taller and slimmer than Tyrone).
-
Now what’s up with Asia, Tricia, and Queenie now that Tyrone is all dressed up for the date?

It can’t get any more stereotypical SoCal than this - a couple wearing fashionable activewear with their dogs.
Add masks and sunglasses to hide one’s identity... Yep.
-
Freyja and Johannes Faustuz are out walking their dogs Freud and Frl. Flicka early in the morning to avoid a certain someone (Rufus McClaine, a photojournalist from the same media company Freyja works for) who’s always trying to get a photo of them together for the press.
Peoples really wanna know who’s the elusive “Jonah Fritz Ström” more so since Freyja has been hosting her show from home and he can be seen in the background, especially when he’s home from work.
—
I’m still feeling exhausted, but I’ll finish up the “Mother’s Day” arc sometime this month.
As for MerMay... eh... I might draw a mermaid somewhere?🤷🏻♀️
It’s not like I can go anywhere to get inspiration and recharge; I’m also suffering from lack of sleep with my work schedule currently being at night and roofers banging around during the day.😒🥱😑

Tyrone and Johannes Faustuz are finally together again.
With PPE, they could maybe possibly technically hug, but Hr. Dr. Kasper is as cuddly as a hedgehog to colleagues.🦔
Faustuz is also wearing a hot pink button headband his wife made for him so he can keep his hair off his face and ears pain-free.
-
He’s back at work now that elective surgeries are approved at the hospital (he’s a Surgical Oncologist).
He was suspended for a month since his ward was converted into COVID-19 beds and breaking down into tears seeing a dying patient that reminded him of his uncle Heinrich (also having Death constantly whispering in his ear, and his boss not happy about a Grim Reaper walking around collecting souls effortlessly).

Oh my...🤭
It’s another one of these colorful steamy moments with these two.
Don’t swipe right to the end if you don’t want to see the full versions.❌
Just stop.🛑
You’ve been warned.⚠️
(but I’m sure I’ll still get a few 😤 despite the warnings)
-
The original color scheme is a tropical one, making it perfect for an intimate scene; the other version in blue, dark and secretive.
But Papa Ström won’t allow them to play much longer - he doesn’t want to see his daughter with her husband in any way.
(Erik never liked Johannes Faustuz from the start; he always thought of the doctor as a quack and not of proper upbringing to marry his daughter, but it’s really because he’s jealous that he’s not as strong as his son-in-law when it comes to fighting monsters)

Took almost three hours to color this in.💀
I really need sleep now, lol.
(I’ll post the speed-coloring video on IGTV as well)
-
Freyja and Johannes Faustuz wore cute sun hats in the last pic I made; Cedrick doesn’t want to match his parents, so he went all black despite the heat (black is just a badass color because it’s the rainbow absorbed into the abyss).
This time you can really see Cedrick’s heterochromia (odd-eyes; both Cedrick and his father Hr. Dr. Kasper have it).
-
The California Poppy:
These things bloom every year after the rain is over, and some years we get “Superblooms” when the hills are all orange and gold with them (there’d be traffic and accidents just because people would slow down to look at the hills while driving😑).
They’re obviously another favorite flower of mine because of their vibrant color ; pair the poppy with the cornflower, and it’s just an awesome combination of colors (blue and yellow is classic - just look at store logos like IKEA).

I normally don’t do anything like this about myself (why I didn’t do the Art vs. Artist meme either).
I’m an introvert, I don’t like attention on me, and I always draw myself as an old lady (because I’m ancient compared to most here in Instagram, lol; many don’t believe how old I am, but I’m old enough to remember Blockbuster being the source for movies before Netflix).

The Kaspers’ house based in Southern California, somewhere around Los Angeles.
It does have a second level that’s basically a loft and attic used for storage, nothing else important.
-
If you zoom in the Garage, you can see what kind of vehicle each parent drives (Papa Ström has a motorcycle, Freyja has a Volvo SUV, Hr. Dr. Kasper has an old VW Beatle); Cedrick is only 14/15, so obviously he can’t drive yet (there’s three bikes available; the shopping bike is pink with a basket and crate installed, lol).
