Freyja and Frl. Flicka; her husband Johannes Faustuz and other dog Freud in the end. (Swipe right to see➡️) - “Flicka” is “Girl” in Freyja’s native Swedish, and she’s definitely Freyja’s girl. Faustuz and Cedrick refer to her as “Fräulein” as form of endearment - hence her full name Frl. Flicka “Miss Girl.” - Freyja adopted Frl. Flicka after attending a charity for military veterans; she was told that the dog was injured in combat and had trouble with finding a forever-home due to her aggressive behavior. Frl. Flicka immediately warmed up to Freyja and has always been super sweet around her and fellow creatures at the Kasper household. Now revealing her true identity as a Hellhound, it makes sense why she wants to be part of the Kasper’s mythical menagerie. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #dog #doberman #dachshund #blue #yellow #gold #orange #red #black #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Cedrick is still technically a kid at age 15 so he’s not too old for juice boxes, lol. (I still drink out of juice and milk boxes myself, and I’m not a kid) The juice boxes are also because he’s not allowed to drink alcohol during social gatherings (legal drinking age where the Kaspers work is 21; back in their home country it’s 16). - And looking at his juice box makes me feel uneasy because it’s all citrus juice, which is very acidic despite being tasty. I had an endoscopy earlier today, and it turns out that I have a stomach ulcer; that means no alcoholic drinks or spicy/acidic/greasy foods until I’m healed up (in other words, I’m stuck with the BRAT diet).😭 Maybe that’s why I picked this color scheme - it just reminds me of my horrible stomach acid.🤮 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #green #black #yellow #juicebox #colorscheme #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

I should make a colored version, but I’m feeling lazy. Just testing #pixaloop for this one (2nd slide for animated pic). 🚿 It’s the Kaspers’ master bathroom. Here’s my Necromancer Mage. I’m done with #inktober2019. À bientôt! Auf Wiedersehen! Bye~👋🏻 (No... No... Not really, lol.) - #inktober is a big challenge, and this year I’m not feeling like doing 31 of these kind of pics. Obviously I’m skilled enough and capable of finishing a piece in a day, but to make a really good piece, it takes the whole day - if not more than a day (I spent maybe 12 hours total on this guy). This was also done on a large 10.5”x15” piece of paper (approximately 27x38cm), so I don’t think having another 30 of these lying around in my apartment is very practical (that’s why I’ve enjoy doing stuff digitally or in sketchbooks). I might make another traditional piece, but not anytime soon. ☠️ Media Used: •Sakura Pigma Micron •Staedtler Mars Graphic 3000 Duo •Winston & Newton Brushmarker •Spectrum noir Illustrator Dual-Tip Markers — #inktober #ink #blackink #pen #marker #markerart #alcoholmarker #traditionalart #traditionalmedia #drawing #inkdrawing #fantasyart #necromancer #mage #skull #magehat

“Midnight Snack” is finished! 🦑 It’s a late night glimpse into the Kaspers’ kitchen this time. There’s all kinds of stuff in there - let me know what’s your favorite item in their kitchen. - Poor Cedrick just wanted a Ruben sandwich and a juice box, but unbeknownst to him, his mother Freyja had stashed a fresh Kraken in the fridge for tomorrow night’s dinner. Included in this pic are the Hyōsube they adopted from their last trip to Kiel, their orange Norwegian Forest Cat Klimt, and the mischievous Pink Fairy - all featured in previous pics I’ve drawn over the past couple of months (if not years). - I thought about having the tentacles animated, but after spending so much time drawing and coloring this, I opted to just add text and lines for actions like a comic with a few touches from #pixaloop in the second slide. - Which room will be next? The living room? The master bathroom? Cedrick’s bedroom? Etc.? We shall see!🤗 — #lineart #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #boy #teenager #krakententacles #cat #interior #kitchen #refrigerator #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Which lighting looks the best? 1, 2, 3, or 4? (4 is the same as the one without characters sans Soft Light layer effects) - It’s Freyja and Johannes Faustuz’s bedroom. Either they’re getting dressed up for the day or undressed for the night - you decide.😏 - Originally I planned on using a reddish-brown for the line art, but the blue just adds the right amount of pop for the details. And of course I had fun with the Soft Light layerings - thus I have a hard time choosing which one to put first on the post. I’ll have the full versions up on my Highlights since the original isn’t square format. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #couple #bedroom #interior #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

It’s still a #wip. Still needs more lighting and shading. It’s not as detailed as the last one, but it’s still quite a bit of work. - It’s Freyja and Johannes Faustuz’s bedroom this time. Luckily Freyja wasn’t there to hear that - she’s a very jealous woman. - Hyōsube is coming to Los Angeles with Papa Kasper and Cedrick while the Kappas will stay in Kiel. Johannes Faustuz will build her a special home consisting of a miniature bathtub and a patch of various types of eggplants in his wife’s garden. Cedrick is a bit disappointed not having the Kappas, especially the baby, but they’re still able to visit the family estate in a future trip. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #blackandwhite #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #originalcharacters #malecharacters #yokai #hyosube #frauv8_ocs

The Kasper Family at an earlier time when Cedrick was a lot shorter and Johannes Faustuz had short hair; Freyja hasn’t changed much since except how she styles her hair. This would probably be when Cedrick was about 10 years old. (Faustuz was born in 23 December 1981; Freyja was born 30 June 1982; I still haven’t decided whether Cedrick will be born in 2006 or 2017 since those are the two most recent times October Friday the 13th had occurred) - The colors I picked for this pic screams Fall, but the weather here in SoCal screams Summer - it’s been super hot the last several days.🥵🌡 Cedrick’s sweater has each of his parents’ family symbols: the Kaspers’ black skull and the Ströms’ spiral. Freyja’s outfit was based off a sold-out piece of clothing according to a fashion article (see 4th slide), while Faustuz just wears a basic collared shirt and slacks with typical aviator-framed glasses (reference last slide); both Freyja and Faustuz are wearing wedding rings this time. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #halftone #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

These two lovebirds again. With their respective careers/assignments and raising a son, Freyja and Johannes Faustuz hardly ever have time for each other; if they’re lucky, they get to work together in getting rid of rouge creatures or collecting cursed items. - I originally started this as a crappy pencil sketch in my mini sketchbook at work, but using it as a base, I finished it up on my iPad Pro at home. But I should really try to get the Yōkai Project finished before Inktober creeps up - I’m still figuring out my prompt for this year. Aunt Yoko decided to not get rid of the Yōkai after all, only after seeing how the Yōkai were staying together as a family despite everything she had done. It reminded her of when her husband Heinrich had died and all the hardships she endured trying to keep the family functional. But at the same time, it’s possible she decided to keep the Yōkai only to make things harder for her nephew since she doesn’t like him. It’s ultimately up to the Yōkai whether they want to stay or go with Johannes Faustuz. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #frauv8

A rare work drawing I made yesterday. It’s been a long time using markers, but it looks like I’m still able to blend my inks well. - It was supposed to be a younger Johannes Faustuz, but it ended up being an older Cedrick.😛 In my original concept made back in 2005-2006, Cedrick was supposed to be in his 20s; my current project has him at age 15-16. — #lechtturm1917 #sketchbook #minisketchbook #traditionalart #drawing #pen #pencil #mechanicalpencil #coloredink #blackink #ink #alcoholmarkers #winsorandnewton #originalcharacter #malecharacter #coffeecup #glasses #blond #frauv8

The Kasper Siblings: Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz. All three are often nicknamed “Hans” due to their similar first names. - Hansel and Hannah are actual brother and sister; Johannes Faustuz is their younger cousin who was raised with them after his parents died. Growing up Hansel and Hannah weren’t particularly close with Faustuz since the age gap between them is a bit (Hansel is 8 years older; Hannah is 6 years older), but growing older they realize they actually like their younger cousin. Faustuz often gets random hugs whenever Hansel or Hannah miss their late father Heinrich due to his resemblance to him. Aunt Yoko never liked Faustuz; she has always been tough on him since he’s not her biological child and he had been chosen to be the next head of the Kasper Family whenever Olaf Kasper dies (the Kasper Siblings‘ grandfather, Yoko’s father-in-law). Because of this, Hansel and Hannah try their best to support their younger cousin by all means so he can take care of the family legacy. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacter #family #cousins #siblings #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Johannes Faustuz was filling up a kiddie pool when Garappa started having labor pains. He’s calling out for his older cousin Hansel because he is a nurse; even though he’s a doctor, Faustuz needs some assistance in dealing with this situation. Egg laying for Garappas is extremely painful and risky considering how large the egg is compared to body size (think of a Kiwi bird). A Garappa will remain with her egg until it hatches; she will have to rely on her mate for food and comfort for the next few days. This is also a vulnerable time since she’ll be weak from egg laying and incubation, not be able to eat to regain her strength. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #yokai #garappa #kappa #hyosube #frauv8

Johannes Faustuz confronts his aunt Yoko about his uncle’s garden. - Uncle Heinrich made the garden with a pond for his father-in-law to enjoy while he visited Kiel from Hiroshima; over the years, three things were brought over from Japan: a Kappa egg, a Garappa egg, and an infant Hyōsube attached to an eggplant. Yoko’s father had hopes that either Hansel or Hannah would befriend the Yōkai and become a doctor as a reward for doing so. Neither grandchild wanted to do anything about the Yōkai, thinking they only existed in Japan and not wanting to be doctors (Hansel ended up being a nurse while Hannah became a chef). - Overhearing and being fascinated with stories of the Yōkai, a little 3-year-old Johannes Faustuz often visited the garden pond with a jar of pickles in hand, tossing them into the water; he’d get excited seeing each of the floating pickles suddenly sink below the surface. But one day, the boy fell into the pond trying to lean in closer to see the pickles disappear. Unable to swim yet, Johannes Faustuz cries out for help. A green shelled creature pops up to help the boy swim to shore; the boy offers what’s left of the pickle jar to the creature before it dives deep into the water; Yoko’s father arrives to scold him for seeking the Yōkai and leaning towards the water carelessly. Ever since, Johannes Faustuz would occasionally leave behind a jar of pickles nearby the pond. The creature was obviously the Kappa, and because he was offered pickles over the years, he tells the other Yōkai to not cause him any trouble. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #femalecharacters #yokai #kappa #hyosobe
