Delivery for Sigrid! … except she’s not happy with who came with it. Actually… She’ll be eating him as well.💀 - Sigrid wasn’t always the nicest to Richard when they first met, especially knowing his past as a playboy, being a Kasper/Grim Reaper, and his age (Sigrid calls him an “old man”, but he’s not old - just older like a brother or cousin). But deep down inside, Sigrid had always liked him and wanted to have him for herself. — #autodesksketchbook #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #man #girl #characterart #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #comic #sketchdump #animestyle

• Circa 1981: Sigrid and Richard are finally engaged. The following month they were married, and at the end of the year had their son - followed with Sigrid’s death as a consequence of her life curse. Richard dies in 1984, leaving behind a toddler Johannes Faustuz in his brother’s care. … Sigrid was forced to leave school as soon as her classmates reported seeing her playing games with Richard at the local arcade (students are not allowed to date; once found out, it’s expulsion from the all-girls academy). Because of her top grades, the principal gave her a chance to return if she broke off her relationship with Richard, but with only a year left before her life curse is due, Sigrid declined the offer - she rather be with her boyfriend and mother instead. After receiving a phone call from Aina, Richard immediately left work at Kiel to be with Sigrid; he stayed at the flower shop for a month to protect both Sigrid and her mother from harassment and criticism - especially from their neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen. Richard brought her over to Kiel for a weekend to meet with other members of the Kasper Family, including his father “The Black Skull”; after returning to Copenhagen, he finally proposed to Sigrid with the engagement ring he made during his last trip to his grandparents’ home in Johannesburg - a simple gold ring with a raw pink diamond in the center (pink was Sigrid’s favorite color). Sigrid immediately replied “Yes!”, Aina watching the two kiss to celebrate the last chapter of their life together. — #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #animestyle #managstyle #originalcharacterart #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #girl #couple #blackandwhite #halftone

And~ I ruined my OC fashion streak, lol. It just takes a lot of time to find the right poses and clothes. - It’s pic of Richard and Hedy from the “Scrap Pile/Backburner” that finally got worked on after collecting a bit of virtual dust (I don’t post everything I doodle). As for the character, it’s pretty heavily hinted that Richard isn’t just any Grim Reaper based on how much he’s around Sigrid (who was cursed by her father, leaving her only about 15-16 years to live): he’s an incarnation of Death himself - basically a rare temporary physical form of Death that lasts about 30 years from the time he’s reborn as an infant to his normal state as a rotting corpse. Death reappears about every 1,000 years, picking families known for being reapers to be born into; he currently has the Kasper Family as his favorite due to their dark history and unique ability to see any living being’s vitals with their heterochromia. — #malecharacter #characterdesign #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #man #blond #cat #blackcat #autodesksketchbook #digitalart #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #animestyle #brown #green #blue #yellow

The Kasper Brothers: Richard and his older brother Heinrich. Both had Heterochromia - except Heinrich was shorter with a slightly darker complexion, slicked dirty-blond hair, and chain-smoked; Richard was taller, slightly slimmer, and had feathered platinum blond hair. - Richard had always been in the shadow of his older brother all his life - Heinrich was the favorite child being more quiet, responsible, and well-tempered, while Richard was hot-headed, vocal, and adventurous. Their father Olaf considered Richard an extra mouth to feed since he already had “the perfect child”, and their mother Ida was disappointed having another son when she really wanted a daughter; Richard was sent off to South Africa to live with Ida’s parents when he was an infant until he was old enough to attend school so more attention could be spent on Heinrich. Despite their five-year gap and opposing personalities, the two brothers were inseparable in everything they did together at home, more so when Ida suddenly abandoned the family for a younger American lover. - It was expected that Heinrich step up and become the next Grim Reaper after Olaf, but after traveling abroad to Japan and marrying a foreign woman, then having a son who didn’t inherit “Odin’s Eye”, Heinrich gave up his role as the heir. The family legacy fell onto Richard when he was a teenager, creating a wedge between the brothers and added pressure on Richard to act like the heir of the family. Because of this sudden change, Richard became quite the playboy to rebel against the proper behavior expected from him, adding more to the rift between his brother and especially their father. - Since Death’s assignment to Copenhagen, Richard had become more focused on his career as a traveling doctor, his duty as a Grim Reaper, and being a loyal partner to Sigrid while Heinrich remains at Kiel with father Olaf, wife Yoko, and two children to keep the family estate in order. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #malecharacter #man #men #brothers #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs

The end of Sigrid’s diary. Freyja can’t believe it’s the end, but it is. - Sigrid died two days after giving birth to Johannes Faustuz on Christmas Day; for “normal people”, she died from blood loss and infection, but it was Death himself who arrived and took her soul away - not before Richard was ordered to deal the final blow straight through her heart. Since Sigrid’s passing, Richard’s health deteriorated over the next few years from feeling guilty and responsible of his beloved wife’s death; briefly he had moments of joy with his son, only to quickly spiral into deep depression being reminded of Sigrid. Richard died in 1984 when Faustuz was two-going-on-three while they were staying over at South Africa; Faustuz only has one vivid memory of Richard from his childhood: listening to his father sing as he fell asleep in his arms. — #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #mangastyle #blackandwhite #halftone #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #frauv8_ocs

Richard and Sigrid finally agreed on a first name: Johannes. - “Johannes” derived from “Iohannes” meaning “God is gracious” - basically saying the baby is a gift. While “Magnus” is a bold name and has a nice meaning, Sigrid feels more at ease with the more humble name “Johannes”, plus Richard thought it would be nice if all the Kasper children shared the same nickname (all three grew up hating the idea). “Johannes” could also refer to where Richard’s grandparents live (Johannesburg), as well as Han Solo from Star Wars with his name spelled out Han S. and pronounced “Hannes” (Han Solo and Princess Leia were Sigrid’s favorite characters). - Richard was also a traveling doctor (epidemiologist), which inspired both Johannes Faustuz and his older cousin Hansel to pursue science and medicine as a career (Faustuz is a surgical oncologist while Hansel is a nurse). — #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #baby #originalcharacter #frauv8_ocs #autodesksketchbook #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #halftone #blackandwhite

Like his parents, Hr. Dr. Kasper also got married in March (the 15th). Also like his mother Sigrid, he and Freyja were married at very young age (he rescued her from a Bluebeard when they were 16-17, resulting in an unexpected marriage conducted by a priest’s ghost; they still haven’t had an official wedding since then, so that’s something to look forward to in the near future). - Richard’s 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle has been fought over by all three Kasper Siblings since his death, especially between Hansel and Hannah (each of them learned how to drive with the car). But both Hansel and Hannah were quick to leave home after graduating and turning 18, leaving the car behind for Faustuz to use as soon as he was older - and after a long restoration period, he still drives his father’s car around to this day. — #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #man #woman #frauv8_ocs #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #blackandwhite #halftone #car #volkswagenbeetle #comic

A dark entry in Sigrid’s diary, showing the other side of Richard as a Grim Reaper. - It’s not known whether if Death ordered Richard to collect Mr. Vannderhassen’s soul, or if he acted out of spite and annoyance towards a man threatening himself and his family (Kaspers are known to be vengeful, often doing so as a form of bad karma); either way, Sigrid is more frightened of her death quickly approaching after seeing his true form, temporarily distancing herself from Richard out of fear. As of what Mr. Vannderhassen died from, it was cardiac arrest in the eyes of humans outside of the occult and mythical. - Richard’s Grim Reaper costume is based off the Plague Doctor; unlike his father Olaf, older brother Heinrich, and his son Johannes Faustuz, Richard wore mostly white instead of black - giving him the nickname “The White Ghost”. I plan to draw all of the Kaspers’ Grim Reaper costumes from Olaf’s from the 1950s to Cedrick’s modern day outfit (🔜). — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #originalcharacter #grimreaper #plaguedoctor #scythe #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #halftone #blackandwhite #frauv8_ocs

Mama Kasper isn’t happy being excluded for so long after sleeping for a few hours - she’s mad at her boys for reading ahead without her. - Both Richard and Aina ideally wanted Sigrid to continue her education as a normal schoolgirl despite her tragic circumstances. But after Sigrid’s expulsion from high school, her secret relationship revealed, and now with a little more than a year left to live, Richard brought up the idea of getting married and having a child; Aina sobs tears of joy as her daughter and future son-in-law share a kiss to celebrate their new way of life. — #autodesksketchbook #ipaddrawing #digitaldrawing #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #frauv8_ocs #halftone #blackandwhite #comic

The night Sigrid and Richard made their relationship official. Even Freyja is blushing from what’s written but not shown (it’s so spicy that everything is blacked out and left for the imagination). Johannes Faustuz is starting to get annoyed with Freyja up late reading his mother’s diary, except he thinks she’s reading a cheesy romance novel. (Freyja is also back to the random page she first read when opening up Sigrid’s diary) — #autodesksketchbook #malecharacter #femalecharacter #originalcharacters #halftone #blackandwhite #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #frauv8_ocs
