I’ve been cramming in drawing after drawing all day~😫 Then again, I’m going to be back at work tomorrow, so I’ll have less time for art. - And I drew these lovebirds again...🤦🏻‍♀️ Ever since I was 17, I can’t stop drawing them - they’re just too cute together! I probably should make this a #dtiyschallenge and #colorthisinyourstyle pic (last slide for original sketch). Tag #dtiys_frauv8 or #colorthis_fv8 based on which challenge you want to do. - This time it’s a softer, realistic style with a neutral color scheme. I just love how Freyja’s freckles turned out here (I have a thing for freckles); as for Hr. Dr. Kasper, he has his usual odd-eyes and 😐 face (Johannes Faustuz is not a smiley person - unless he had a perfect cup of coffee, is reading his wife’s magazine, his son did something amazing, or he’s just playing around and being sarcastic). Their faces are zoomed in for a closer look at the details. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #blue #frauv8_ocs

A quick pic of Johannes Faustuz and Freyja at age 10-11. It’s quite a bit early for Valentine’s Day, but it’s never off-season to show off some love. — Freyja and Faustuz have known each other for about thirty years, but like any couple, they have lots of rough times - whether it’s being separated because of work (he’s an oncologist, she’s involved with media), language barriers (Faustuz barely spoke English while Freyja only knew Swedish and English when they first met; Faustuz knew some Danish from his great-grandmother, which is similar to Swedish, but it was still difficult to understand each other for a long time without a German/English translation book; as adults they speak English but will switch to German to keep some conversations private), social class (she’s rich, he’s low-middle class), and their families not liking each other (the Ströms are very proud of their royal Viking heritage and making weapons; the Kaspers are shunned for their involvement with things like the Black Plague, witch-hunting, bodysnatching, and WW2). But with constant attention and compromises, Freyja and Faustuz have been happily married for over twenty years (they won’t reveal when exactly they got married; all that’s known is that they were young when they were married). —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #pixaloop #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #lineart #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #femalecharacter #girl #children #couple #inlove #frauv8_ocs

Happy Christmas Day!🎄 And I’m ( 12 x 3 ) - 4. (“Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” if you want to solve how old I am) - This is a quick pic based on an idea for a Pixaloop animation I had in mind, so making it now would be a bit late (I technically have until 6-7 January since some people celebrate Christmas then, and there’s “Christmas in July” too). - So it might be a while before I’ll have time to draw something again since I’ll be back at work, and I’ll be planning out stuff more focused on Mama Kasper and other OCs I haven’t shown much yet; Papa Kasper, Cedrick, the Williamses, and others will still be around, just that I need to try something different for a while since it’s a new year and Mama is as interesting as her boys are - maybe a bit more since she’s a boss lady while her husband does more mundane work as a doctor (Cedrick still has time to decide which side of the family he’ll take after, but it’s quite obvious he likes his father’s work more; the Ström family focuses more on crafting and selling stuff while the Kaspers do research, repair, and removal of things). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #digitalsketch #autodesksketchbook #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #malecharacter #boy #christmas #christmastree #frauv8_ocs

Instant translation 1️⃣🇩🇪↔️🇺🇸2️⃣ I also included the line art for coloring - just tag #frauv8colorthisin @frauv8 - 📝STORY BEHIND THE PIC:📝 1992 was a tough year for the Kaspers: Uncle Heinrich died, Hansel was at university, Hannah ran away from home for a month. This left Aunt Yoko alone with Johannes Faustuz. Yoko really wanted patriarch Olaf to take care of Faustuz when he was orphaned as a toddler; Heinrich didn’t want their nephew to be raised by “a xenophobic man who still believes in the old ways”. Reluctantly, Yoko continues raising Faustuz just as her husband wanted. For Johannes Faustuz, bullying from his classmates gets worse, leading him to constant fights and suspensions. Because he can’t go back to school, Faustuz is stuck with Yoko at the public library where she works. There he easily reads up on all kinds of knowledge and literature - and meets Freyja (she was a Swedish foreign exchange student in his class, but never approached him because everyone else told her that “Hothead Hans” is trouble). - Skip ahead to December 23rd. Since it’s during the holiday season, only Yoko, Hansel, and Hannah were there for his 11th birthday. Not able to afford much, they bought a new pair of glasses to replace his broken ones; Hannah also baked Neapolitan cupcakes since they’re not red and green. But it wasn’t any of his family’s gifts that caused tears of joy - it was a folded piece of white paper mailed to him. Freyja’s handwriting in the front wishes him a happy birthday, originally in Swedish but then crossed out and rewritten so he can understand; inside it reads “I’m sorry that I can only send you a card, but I didn’t want you to have nothing from anyone from school. To make it up, I’ll make sure you get a really big Valentine’s Day present. I’ll see you either in class or at the library after New Year’s Day.” (Keep “a really big Valentine’s Day present” in mind for a future pic of Freyja and Faustuz) —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #drawing #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #boy #cupcake #birthday #mangastyle #animestyle #pixaloop #frauv8_ocs

The Kaspers’ Yule log burning. - All three pets (Klimt the Norwegian Forest Cat, Fräulein Flicka the Doberman/Hellhound, Freud the Dachshund) and two creatures (Rosemarie the Pink Fairy, Junko Akane the Hyōsube) are gathered together to enjoy the warmth of the hearth and sights of many Christmas trinkets with so much lore behind them (last slide has everything labeled). —— #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipaddrawing #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #drawing #lineart #autodesksketchbook #animals #pets #fireplace #mangastyle #animestyle #pixaloop #christmas #christmasdecorations #yulelog #holidayseason

Quick “Wunderkind’s Notes” on the turkey. Cedrick just thinks turkey is just an overrated big bird (which it is; I actually like roasted chicken or duck better). - Yes, Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the USA (turkeys are actually quite aggressive birds, just not very pretty to look at). And yes, turkey meat (if not cooked right) is dry and needs a heavy dose of gravy to make it more enjoyable. And cranberry sauce... don’t eat the canned stuff if you can avoid it. - The second slide is a written script of the spin-off to last year’s Tyrone’s turkey troubles. Kinda has a Goofy instructional video vibe to it, a little meta since the Kaspers are talking to the audience, but overall it’s so silly and not really worth making into a comic. (Seriously, who wants to hear Cedrick speak in sexy anatomical terms on how to carve a turkey?) Not all my comics have prepared scripts, and lots of times the final isn’t like the original. But I do get random inspiration from mythology, fairy tales, and pop culture as well as character quirks - therefore you never know what and when I’ll cough up a comic. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #notes #turkey #script

Cedrick and his father Johannes Faustuz with hot drinks. What kind of drinks? Both Kasper guys are lactose intolerant, so most likely straight black coffee or soy versions of popular holiday drinks (the soy version of the peppermint mocha coffee latte is delicious). Where the Kaspers come from, Winter is cold, rainy, and often snowy. (It’s currently cold and raining were I live; it’s really feeling like Winter yet it’s still technically Autumn) - I used Pixaloop for the snow and breath/steam effects. —— #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #pixaloop #animestyle #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #man #teenageboy #fatherandson #holidayseason #winter #snow #frauv8_ocs

Another color scheme pic; these colors are similar to a previous drawing (last slide). - It’s also a Kasper family portrait with Papa Ström stepping in. Looks like a happy family, but seconds before Freyja snapped the shot, everyone else isn’t so happy - especially her husband and father (second slide). Erik and Johannes Faustuz have a long history in not liking each other, but for family’s sake, they’re willing to set their grudges aside momentarily. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #colorstudy #animestyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #malecharacters #boy #men #father #grandfather #son #femalecharacter #woman #mother #family #frauv8_ocs

The Kasper Family in the last 100 years. We’re most familiar with Johannes Faustuz, Freyja, and Cedrick; I’ve also shown Aunt Yoko, Uncle Heinrich, Hansel, and Hannah. Recently Olaf was introduced again with his identical twin brother Adolf and older brother Randolf (both died during WW2). Richard, Eva, and Leisa had been mentioned/shown briefly, Sigrid has only been shown in her fantasy version, while the others... Meh? - The Kaspers are a complicated family, looked upon as evil due to historical circumstances (WW1 & WW2 in recent times), but in most cases, they are quite boring just taking care of everything normally not of the world - like mythical creatures such as the Meerjungfrau, Hyōsube, Höllenhund, and in the past during WW2, Sleipnir. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #notes #family #familytree #frauv8

⛔️You have been warned⛔️ This idea has been in the scraps pile for obvious reasons, but with recent media being out there depicting this particular subject, I guess it’s a tad bit safer to bring it up? It’s going back to archives after awhile with an updated post with more details about these three Kaspers. It’s been hinted for a long time regarding Johannes Faustuz’s ancestors being involved with World War II. It’s time to show them: Randolf, Olaf, and Adolf - the Kaspers during the Second World War. Faustuz is very skittish about revealing his family’s history to others, afraid people will immediately treat him and his son Cedrick differently based off the fact his ancestors were not very good people. - The Kasper Family are snubbed by other families involved in the occult and mythological business due to their villainous behavior and historical circumstances (you can say the Kaspers are like Slytherin House in Harry Potter). It’s this very fact why Erik Ström didn’t want his only child Freyja falling in love and marrying Faustuz in the first place, even though he’s nothing like his predecessors (well, he’s just as hardheaded, intelligent, crafty, and occasionally creepy without being evil). Kaspers throughout the ages were known to be merchants, advisors, politicians, mercenaries, whatever profession that can be used to obtain resources in questionable ways. Since after the war with only Olaf surviving, each generation has tried their best to make up for the sins of their ancestors by using their skills and knowledge for good. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #comic #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #girl #ww2 #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs

Keeping up with the creepy Halloween vibes. - Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper is more than happy to give you an assessment on how much time you have left to live. He’s very accurate, earning him the nickname “The White Reaper” at work (in the Fantasy Concept, he’s actually a Grim Reaper - or at least the son of Death which makes him a Grim Reaper). - It’s a style I enjoy drawing - black and white with a hint of color and halftone. And there’s little details in the pic that hint on what this character is all about: •The skull showing the family symbol as well as association with death (Faustuz is an Oncologist, thus diagnoses what kinds of cancer people have); the skull also can hint to his no-nonsense, hardheadedness behavior. •An image of plant leaves showing a nurturing side (he’s a husband and father), and an appreciation of nature in general. •His certificate isn’t accurate in design, but shows where he studied based of the logo and location written on top (both Faustuz and his son Cedrick studied at the same university at Kiel). - This pic is a bit reminiscent of an older one drawn way back in May 2018 (last slide). Definitely an improvement in quality despite using the same app to make both. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #digitalsketch #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #sketchbookautodesk #animestyle #originalcharacter #characterart #characterdesign #halftone #lineart #blackandwhite #malecharacter #doctor #office #frauv8_ocs #frauv8

Finished. Swipe to see full version without text. ➡️ And yes, “Sjöpenna” is a lamp you can buy on IKEA. According to the world’s most infamous translator Google Translate, it does translate as “sea pen fields” from Swedish. (makes sense looking at the lamp) And Cedrick is half Swedish, but doesn’t consider himself Swedish since he was born and raised in Kiel like his father. But Tricia doesn’t care - all she knows that his mother Freyja is Swedish therefore he’s Swedish too. — They first met when Tricia was 13 and Cedrick was almost 10 when Hr. Dr. Kasper had to assist teaching at the university; at this time, her uncle was still a medical student. Tricia mercilessly picked at Cedrick since he was so much smaller and couldn’t speak much English, often making him cry. Then one day the Kaspers were gone, making Tricia initially sad thinking that she was the reason why they left. Fast forward five years, Tricia is barely surviving her first year of college while Cedrick is much taller, fluent in several languages, and finished medical school at 14. Tricia is annoyed now that she needs help from someone she used to pick on in order to survive college; Cedrick, on the other hand, doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her - just gets frustrated every time she skips out on tutoring and babysitting for mall trips with her best friend Carmen. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #autodesksketchbook #animestyle #originalcharacters #characterart #femalecharacter #malecharacter #frauv8 #frauv8_ocs
