A yellow color scheme. And lots of tension in the pic too. - Yellow is such a challenge for me because yellow is just such a strong color. I like it as a hair color (pretty obvious looking at my main OCs), it’s a nice hint of color for jewelry and accessories, but as an overall color for articles of clothing or backgrounds... it’s like stepping on LEGOs. Yellow needs other colors to tone it back, or otherwise it’s literally being blinded by light. Something fun this time with the kiddos: Tricia Williams and her little cousin Queenie with Cedrick Kasper. - People often assume Tricia and Cedrick are a couple, but they’re more like siblings who can’t stand each other after long periods of time; Tricia is almost 4 years older than Cedrick (she’s 18), so she doesn’t see him as a potential date but as a “dorky oversized kid”. Oh Instagram with your silly square format...✂️ - If Cedrick is “The Boy With Odd Eyes”, his father Johannes Faustuz is “The Oncologist With Heterochromia”. Heterochromia is the scientific way of saying odd-colored eyes, and both father and son have it; in some cases, it’s a dominant trait. For the Kaspers, only those who inherit blue eye genes from both parents will get it - almost always one eye being green and the other blue (few times there has been brown and blue eye combinations, like Hansel’s daughter Leisa). Heterochromia for the Kaspers also means they inherit an ability to see the strengths and weaknesses of mythical creatures as well as see hidden beings that could potentially become harmful (such as Ghosts and Yōkai). The ability also allows for Faustuz and Cedrick to have perfect eyesight at the cost of mental and physical energy (this explains their addiction to caffeine, constant snacking, need for power naps, and often being grouchy at the hospital). - I was debating whether I wanted to draw this pic like the last one, but there’s just something about the pencil brush texture that kept me from doing that. A quick colored #digitalsketch of Cedrick and Freud. As for what he’s holding, it could be a book, or based on it’s dimensions, it could be a VHS tape from his father’s archives (Papa Kasper is a Millennial, so he grew up in the 90s during the age of tapes and CDs). - Cedrick is mostly wearing retro 80-90s clothing that probably was once Johannes Faustuz’s and Hansel’s back in the day (most likely Hansel’s because Faustuz was forced to wear his older cousin’s clothes until he got too tall and wore his uncle’s old clothes). Freud doesn’t get as much attention compared to the other two pets (Klimt and Frl. Flicka), but it’s probably because he’s such a troublemaker digging up Freyja’s garden and steals sandwiches from plates, landing him in the covered outdoor area of the house called the “Doghouse” (it’s also where Faustuz sleeps when he’s not in good favors with his wife Freyja).
