Sigrid’s stepmother Sarah is quite fond of her, mostly because she looks like Samuel & always wanted a daughter of her own (Samuel doesn’t want any more children).
Toby adores his older sister, often annoyed with his classmates having crushes on her.
Like Sigrid, he has a strained relationship with their father; he also likes Richard since he views Reapers “cool” compared to Warlocks (he also likes Richard as a father-figure since Samuel is very hands-off).
•Sheila is a posh Enchantress who spent most of Richard’s income, leading him to bankruptcy, closing his medical practice, & his family halting all allowances in the 2 years they were engaged (Olaf arranged the match, hoping Richard would settle down & produce an heir in his place); he immediately broke off the toxic relationship when he saw her abusing his sister-in-law Yoko.
After several months apart, Sheila has grown jealous hearing Richard is now in love with a Wicca girl, determined to win his attention once more.
•Batty was Sigrid’s first love since she was 3.

Heinrich is the older brother who’s cool, calm, and collected (especially if he has a cigarette in hand); Richard is the younger brother who’s hot-headed, impulsive, brazen, and at times can be obnoxious (he likes to tease and play pranks).
Despite their differences, the two brothers enjoy each other’s company whenever they’re together at their hometown of Kiel.
* Sigrid & Richard tending plants at the greenhouse.
Whenever Richard stays overnight during a visit, it’s usually because Sigrid’s mother Aina needs extra help with certain tasks around the flower shop/ house (usually lifting up heavy objects, repairing anything broken, and getting rid of pests - especially Tatzelwürmer).
Initially Sigrid was annoyed and couldn’t stand sharing anything of hers with anyone else; as their relationship slowly advanced from acquaintances into lovers, she allowed Richard into her room (sometimes leading into unexpected passionate nights together).
* Sigrid with her younger half-brother Torben (her father’s son with the academy’s headmistress) and Heinrich’s children Hansel & Hannah.
Sigrid always had a soft spot for younger children, so much so she dreamed of becoming a teacher & mother despite of her life curse; she was able to briefly enjoy being an aunt and becoming a mother, but never lived long enough to finish school to become a teacher (Johannes actually obtained a teaching degree in honor of his mother).

As the toll of transformation between his true form and his human body was starting to show, Richard left his toddler son with his brother Heinrich’s family and returned to the Underworld (Sigrid’s mother Aina still held a grudge towards him after she witnessed his transformation into Death and removing Sigrid’s soul).

• Death normally is in his skeletal form, but whenever there’s a case of a God-class monster spawning or going rogue, he’s often summoned back temporarily as a human again to assist Reapers; he can only be summoned by direct relatives, and most of the time he returns as the age Richard would have been if he was “still alive” (he has returned at the age he “died” a few times, making it awkward for Johannes because they’ll physically be around the same age).
Johannes doesn’t like having him around mainly because he’s reminded of how Richard left him behind as a boy (as well as the inappropriate nature of his parents’ relationship despite being in an era when it’s tolerated - his mother was only a teenager while his father was more than twice her age).

• Richard took care of Johannes for about the first 4 years of his life (Sigrid died a day after giving birth).
As the toll of transformation between his true form and his human body was starting to show, Richard left his toddler son with his brother Heinrich’s family and returned to the Underworld (Sigrid’s mother Aina still held a grudge towards him after she witnessed his transformation into Death and removing Sigrid’s soul).
Though Johannes doesn’t remember much of his early childhood, Richard took him almost everywhere he went (he does have a favorite memory: hearing Richard singing him to sleep; Johannes sings karaoke to emulate his father’s voice).
• It’s not known if Johannes is a Deity like Death, but he (as well as his son Cedrick) show physical signs as a direct descendant - his bones appear as tattoos when he performs his role as Grim Reaper (they still paint their faces / wear masks as part of traditional Reaper attire).
