It’s been a long time since I’ve drawn any of the Kaspers’ pets. They have two dogs and a cat (not including the myriad of fruit flies the Herr Doktor takes care of for experimenting). - Their cat cat Klimt is a huge fluffy orange Norwegian forest cat. He’s named after the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt because his fur resembles the swirling patterns in the artist’s gold paintings. Despite his size, Klimt think he can perch on anything and loves exploring high places which leads him into serious trouble. He’s very attached to Johannes Faustuz and Cedrick, often following either one of them around the house whenever they do come home from the hospital. Klimt enjoys cuddling up with his fellow pet Fräulein Flicka the Doberman, but avoids Freud the dachshund due to his rough playing and biting. Overall, he’s a sweet cat who loves giving attention to anyone he thinks is worth it. - I also included the #lineart. It’s #nationalhighfiveday, but Johannes Faustuz isn’t feeling very “Hans-y”. 😅(terrible joke) - I enjoy drawing my characters wearing fashionable clothing a lot (they dress better than me, lol), allowing me to play with different styles and colors. Both are wearing somewhat matching outfits with a bold spring/summer yellow/blue color scheme, and each guy has his own reaction to it. Hr. Dr. Kasper wears whatever his wife Freyja picks for him despite not liking the outfits (he prefers just his black scrubs or a simple solid color collared-shirt that’s often wrinkled, occasional neck tie, rolled-up khakis, and black shoes); Tyrone naturally chooses very bright colors and prints despite his wife Asia wanting him to tone it down. And they’re dressed like the 1980s at the peak of their careers. Heinrich is the older, darker-haired brother who is a shipping company businessman; Richard is five years younger, and is (no surprise) a doctor who travels to developing countries to volunteer during disasters. The two were extremely close growing up and always had drinks together whenever they had a chance to hang out as adults. But Richard suddenly dies overseas in Africa from an infection, leaving behind an infant son (at age 25). Heinrich adopts the boy and raises him along with his own children until he passes away from lung cancer (at age 41). Because of Heinrich’s death and being inspired by the stories about Richard’s work, both Johannes Faustuz and his older cousin Hansel pursued careers in medicine; Hansel became a nurse and Faustuz an oncologist. - Faustuz and his son Cedrick are often compared to these two brothers because of their physical similarities and the fact they work closely together. Faustuz looks very much like his uncle except for the build, height, and coloring (all which he takes after his father Richard). He also wears aviators in tribute to his uncle. Cedrick takes after his grandfather, so much that relatives often accidentally call him Richard. Reminds me how my dad, younger brother, and I would be like whenever we get our photos taken, lol. None of us are big on smiles unless we have to. 😑 And again, the black and white with stripes and dots... I just really like drawing stuff only in black with patterns and minimal colors a lot! - It’s Johannes Faustuz with his older cousins Hansel/Hanzo and Hannah/Hana, both he was raised with as if they were his older brother and sister when he was orphaned as a baby. Like all close relatives, these Kaspers are alike but different at the same time. Both Hansel and Hannah are half Asian (just like me and my brother) which is why Faustuz sticks out amongst them, aside from being the tallest and youngest of the three. Both Faustuz and Hannah are a bit on the serious side, something they picked up from Yoko Kasper (Hansel and Hannah’s mother). All three ended up wearing glasses just like Heinrich Kasper, and Faustuz almost looks just like him except for the long hair and being slimmer built more like his father Richard (younger brother of Heinrich). And of course, all three are named alike: Hansel (Hanzo to his Japanese family), Hannah (spelled Hana in Japanese), and Johannes Faustuz (Faustuz is his mother’s maiden name; he hates being called “Hans” like his cousin and insists being called Faustuz, Johannes Faustuz, or Herr Doktor Kasper instead).
