Not so fast~💨 All those years of Hannah (Hana) forcing Johannes Faustuz to do her calligraphy homework has. finally paid off (Hannah is one of his two older cousins who are half-Japanese). - Hr. Dr. Kasper placed a talisman on the door to keep the mermaid from escaping this time. She didn’t get zapped going in the restaurant because Vincent-Claude was a gentleman holding the door open for her. - Things are wrapping up as MerMay ends... And I’m getting super exhausted from making these - they’re so much work, especially the colored ones! — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #mermay2019 #mermay

Another character sheet: Freyja and Vincent-Claude - These two are rarely seen together for many reasons. Aside from not working in the same region in the world and working in different fields of interests, the Herr Doktor does his best to keep Vincent-Claude far away from his wife - Vinnie can be a bit of a womanizer. His latest obsession is Kimiko Abe, trying his best to woo her despite her rejections; but that doesn’t stop him from looking up and flirting with another female at whim. - Vincent-Claude is the son of Dr. Leyon DeValeur, Director of the hospital where the Kaspers work; he also works at the university as an Archeology and Biology professor. He’s not as familiar with the obscure and occult as the Kaspers, but as an Archeologist he’s able to obtain some artifacts if Erik is unable to provide a modern equivalent. - Freyja is a fashion supermodel who also works as a magazine editor and TV show host (think Heidi Klum with “Project Runway”); she’s also the heiress to the Ström Company run by her father Erik, wife to her childhood sweetheart, and mother to a teenage son. Under the facade of all those things, Freyja follows her father’s footsteps in being knowledgeable about mythical weaponry; she joins her husband and son when they need support and backup. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #lineart #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacter #man #femalecharacter #woman #charactersheet #characterdesign #characterstudy #frauv8_ocs

And the mermaid is on the run! With the fish in hand... Wha...😶😐🤨🧐 Now I got “How Much is the Fish” by Scooter in my head - “The chase is better than the catch.” — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #blackandwhite #black #white #grey #gray #originalcharacter #femalecharacter #woman #mermay2019 #mermay

Oh Cedrick... Behind that adorable smile is a killer scheming how to catch his prey. - And finally Vincent-Claude realizes something is up with the woman he’s been trying to woo for a long time. Kimiko usually is immediately drawn to anyone who has fish in any form for food. - And Papa Ström is watching from a distance as always, not just because of the mermaid - he’s also keeping an eye on his daughter. After thirty years, Erik still doesn’t trust Johannes Faustuz being alone with Freyja. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #blackandwhite #black #white #grey #gray #originalcharacters #malecharacters #men #man #boy #waiter #femalecharacter #woman #mermay2019 #mermay

Lots of tension in the room, yet Vincent-Claude is oblivious to it. - And poor Cedrick trying to sound American...😅 There’s a few American accents everyone instantly thinks of: i.e. the heartthrob Southern drawl, the cool California surfer dude, and the annoying teenage valley girl with vocal fry and uptalk. Cedrick is copying how the Williamses talk; the Williams family were originally from Houston, Texas. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #blackandwhite #black #white #grey #gray #originalcharacters #malecharacters #men #man #boy #waiter #femalecharacters #women #woman #mermay2019 #mermay

Closeup of these two cuddly lovebirds from my last post: Hr. Dr. Johannes Faustuz Kasper with his lovely wife Freyja Ström. - They’re the couple that make people say: “Aww~ Cute!” “Eh?! She’s that nerd’s wife?!” Or “Get a hotel room, you two!” - Feel free to color the #lineart and tag @frauv8 #colorthisin_fv8 so I can see your work. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #drawing #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #characters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #inlove #pink #yellow

It’s been a while since I’ve posted something. I’m currently busy with a 5-piece commission on the side, so my Mermaid/Meerjungfrau Project won’t be progressing as fast as it has been (paid work trumps personal projects). - Anyway ~ Here’s Page 15 - not including the character sheets and “Wunderkind’s Notes”. And yes~ This page took a really long time to make since it has multiple panels and it’s colored; future pages might be black and white again during the time I’m working on my commission since they’re less work. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #femalecharacters #woman #girl #child #mermay2019 #mermay

Papa Ström and Papa Kasper. - They never quite see each other eye to eye - figuratively and literally (maybe when Johannes Faustuz was Cedrick’s age he was the same height as Erik). Erik always thought of the Herr Doktor as weak, scrawny, and a pushover; Faustuz thinks of his father-in-law as insensitive, stubborn, and a bully. Despite their disagreements, they both love Freyja and Cedrick very much - sometimes to the point they’ll fight each other for their family’s affection. The one thing Erik will admit about Faustuz is that he’s an honorable man of his word and hard worker; likewise, Faustuz respects his father-in-law being more experienced with life in general. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacters #men #charactersheet #characterdesign #characterstudy #frauv8_ocs
