*sigh*
2022’s MET Gala in my opinion was a mess of laziness with so much nude dresses and literal gold coating – there wasn’t a lot of outfits that matched the year’s theme. There weren’t a lot of bustles, puffed sleeves, top hats, high collars… There were some beautiful gowns, but again, not the right time period. So it comes down to this: What’s the point of an annual theme when the majority are just wearing whatever outfits that gets the most attention? It just makes things depressing and uncreative when people don’t use the theme and go crazy with it.
So for fun (with a hint of spite), I drew Freyja and her family dressed up in Gilded Age inspired outfits if they went to a themed event like the MET.
