He looks so sinister...
Wonder what this guy is up to.
It’s not everyday Hr. Dr. Kasper wears a suit.
-
It’s been a while since I’ve made a pic this detailed with effects, or any pics at all for the last few days (I’ve been bogged down with work, including a double shift). I’m cat-sitting my father-in-law’s cat Sammy for several days, so that might affect my ability to post stuff regularly. I’ve also been a bit uninspired, so drawing something like this is an accomplishment (believe me - I’ve been feeling really exhausted trying to make something).
-
I still want to make more “Closer Looks” of OCs, so feel free to comment which OCs should be featured as a story highlight (I’ll repost the story on my feed). Otherwise, I’ll be lazy yet busy (if that makes any sense).

Ragnar Axel Ström
AGE: 45
D.O.B.: 22 April 1976
ZODIAC SIGNS: Taurus / Dragon
BLOOD TYPE: A
HEIGHT: 189cm / 6’2”
-
Ragnar is the oldest of the Ström nephews, the oldest son of Björn Ström (Erik’s second youngest brother, middle son of Aki). He takes after his uncle, but is much more soft-spoken and mindful of other’s emotions. Like Erik, Ragnar is skilled in blacksmithing; he’s in charge of manufacturing in STRÖM CORPORATIONS.
His relationship with his cousin Freyja is definitely a big brother/little sister dynamic, always protective and supportive of her. But this bond was tested when he married her fashion rival Vivian, who for long while overshadowed Freyja’s fashion career and forced her into working for the family company and editorial work.
Ragnar has a younger brother named Werner who also works with him as a product designer and engineer.

It’s been getting hot again, so here’s a hot daddy with his son.😆
-
And was it really an 70s-80s thing for dads to wear only gym shorts while holding their babies for photos?
(even I had a photo of me as a baby with my dad in gym shorts sitting on one of those wicker chairs in the late 80s - gotta admit it’s cute seeing tiny me overwhelmed by my giant dad 😂)

1980: Sigrid & Richard
This time is the classic white T-shirt and low-cut tank for Summer; as for what pants he’s wearing, it’s possible that they’re denim bell bottoms.
-
Normally Richard would flirt with numerous women in his travels as a doctor dealing with assigned missions, hoping one would go with him for the night before repeating the same the next day. But while shopping for rare flowers to make a potion to ward off trolls in Denmark, Richard notices the shopkeeper’s daughter and was instantly captivated by her beauty; he’s told that her name is Sigrid and works with her after school. He wasted no time introducing himself, only to get a condescending glare and Sigrid stomping away. Instead of attracting another woman, Richard was set to win her heart.
Sigrid from the start thought Richard was charming and handsome (her mother got her to admit she likes his goofy smile and his butt in a phone call 😂), but didn’t like a man known for flirting around for one-night stands looking at her as his next target. She continued to refuse his advances, but noticed Richard was starting to look more ragged, sleep deprived, and thin as time passed by; he really was seriously in love with her, so much so that he literally became a shell of the man he used to be. She finally agreed to go out with him after a year of torment, and Richard was beyond overjoyed. Less than a month they were married, and were expecting their first child at the end of 1981.

1979: Sigrid Faustus
Hr. Dr. Kasper’s mother.
There’s no question that he looks a lot like her, only with his father’s coloring.
-
Richard was a young traveling doctor who was known for being a notorious ladies man, always trying to woo a female to spend the night with - until he meets Sigrid at her mother’s flower shop in Denmark. He was immediately awestruck by her beauty, and did everything in his book to win her; to his dismay, she outright rejected every advance. Richard never had a woman ignore him before, making him even more determined and desperate to attract Sigrid every time he visited the flower shop.
Sigrid was very much enamored with Richard’s looks and charm from the start, but she also knew of his promiscuous behavior and wanted him to stop so she can have him for herself. After a year of tormenting the poor man, Sigrid finally agreed to go out on a date with him; Richard was beyond ecstatic, constantly showering her with letters, gifts, and endless loyalty by marrying her. Less than a year later, they were expecting their first child.
Richard was beyond proud when she gives birth to a healthy baby boy during the holiday season, but his joy quickly turned to despair when she suddenly dies from rapid blood loss; he named their son “Johannes Faustuz” as a reminder that he was a final gift and reminder of the woman who made him work hard for her love. Sadly, Richard dies while out on mission in Africa from infection a few months later, never seeing his son grow up looking like his mother and becoming a doctor like his father.

•1️⃣1972 - Heinrich & Richard
•2️⃣1997 - Hansel & Johannes
(Heinrich’s & Richard’s sons)
-
There’s a lot of similarities between the siblings and generations, but there’s also obvious and subtle differences.
Hansel is half Japanese, so he has a slightly darker complexion and dark brown hair and brown eyes; Faustuz has his father’s coloring, but it’s said that he has his mother’s face (though he also looks a lot like his uncle).
All blond Kaspers also tend to inherit heterochromia, which is the one defining trait that makes them stand out amongst the few families left in the world involved with managing monsters and dealing with matters of the occult and Death himself.
-
Cedrick will be 15, but he doesn’t have a sibling to recreate this pic; his father could sit in place as the older brother/cousin - unless Cedrick becomes a big brother within a year (not likely, but Freyja and Faustuz are young enough to have another kid if they want).
-
Looking up clothes from the past was actually quite fun.
Might draw some more flashback fashion pics with my OCs.

Uh-oh...
Hide.
-
There’s only two other people in the house who would drink Hr. Dr. Kasper’s coffee, and it’s not his son Cedrick (Cedrick likes his coffee iced and super sweet; Faustuz likes his hot and black with very little to no sugar - even in Summer).
Freyja likes drinking her husband’s coffee, but usually takes the whole mug with her when she drinks it; obviously he doesn’t like giving up his drink, but Faustuz loves his wife so much that he’s willing being a monster for a day (he’s been called “Hot-Headed Hans” because of his fits of anger).
His father-in-law Erik, on the other hand, is a bit of an opportunist who’d slurp down anyone’s untouched drink and leaves the empty cup behind; it’s just another silly reason for Papa Kasper and Papa Ström to fight each other.

I remade it - yay!
(and a bonus doodle on Slide 3)
-
Most of you voted for color, but I included a monochromatic version on Slide 4; I used Pantone colors, the colored version with Biscay Green 15-5718 in the background, and both versions using Bone White 12-0105 for their clothes and Moonless Night 19-4203 for the line art.
-
The original version of this was me smearing brushes around - which usually happens when I’m really tired and unmotivated, which then perpetuates a vicious cycle of disappointment and dissatisfaction (you can see the original version on Slide 5).
There’s still something nice about the rough sketch (Slide 7) because of the looser lines compared to the finish versions.

It’s #internationalnursesday!
Yay for nurses!
-
My grandma (Dad’s mom) was a nurse, and lots of aunties are/were nurses (I’m half Filipina; it’s a stereotype for Filipinos and other Asians to be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists but it’s so~ true😅).
Despite having nurses on both sides of the family, I don’t have enough empathy and patience with people to be one (I’ve had people say I look like one, especially now with masks, headbands, and my oversized shirts and Adidas jerseys which resembles scrubs); if I had money for medical school, I’d probably be a geneticist, textbook illustrator, or maybe even a coroner or forensic anthropologist (I actually liked dissecting dead things and looking at bones; it’s sick living people that freak me out the most).
-
Nurses are often in the shadows of their doctor counterparts, but they’re often the ones doing all the grunt work and checking up on the patients, making them feel better and less afraid; nurses are also mostly female, making them super women.
-
Kimiko Abe is the Kaspers’ assigned nurse when they’re working in Los Angeles; when they’re back home in Kiel, it’s Hansel - making it a Kasper trifecta.
Kimiko is petite, often tries pulling off work she’s not quite ready for, and gets so scared that she often hides behind Hr. Dr. Kasper, but she’s very compassionate and does everything she can to put smiles on patients’ faces.
Hansel is quick jotting down data and so skilled at drawing blood that patients barely feel a thing; the only thing that gets on Hr. Dr. Kasper’s nerves is when his cousin starts flirting with their patients (Hansel has been married three times, and had numerous failed relationships over the years; the last thing Faustuz would want is both nurses meeting each other because he knows Hansel would be all over Kimiko).
-
Anyway, we can’t hug our nurses, but we can cheer them on and help out by making masks, gowns, and button headbands for them.

A little break from the Yōkai Project with the three Kasper guys in their career attire.
All three have day jobs in the medical field, while after hours they deal with the mythical, mysterious, and occult.

There’s Cedrick!
He’s really not happy with the Lockdown haircut his mother Freyja gave him, not that it’s much different from his usual Bowlcut - just much shorter and a little uneven in the back (the Lockdown is practically a botched Bowlcut/Fade/Undercut 😬).
He understands why his father Johannes Faustuz has long hair (no need for constant haircuts), but it’s a pain to maintain (tangles, gets in your eyes, shampooing, etc.).
-
There’s 4 versions and the rough WIP sketch.
In the background is the word “LOCKDOWN” in German, English, Swedish, and Japanese; his shirt says “DEATH” in Danish (German, Japanese, English, Swedish, and Danish are the languages the Kaspers are fluent with).
-
Comment below to let me know which one (1-4) you like most.

Hr. Dr. Kasper is smiling under that mask; that’s not normal.😟
He’s really excited and hoping Tyrone will appreciate putting some effort in dressing up for his wife Asia in their date night.
And he’s got the suit in Asia’s favorite color (it was mentioned when they went to Freyja’s lingerie boutique for Valentine’s Day).
-
Tyrone has mentioned that he’s always been impressed with Johannes Faustuz’s wardrobe when he’s not wearing black or green scrubs and wrinkled khakis and collared shirts for work; Faustuz admits that he just lets his wife Freyja pick out his outfits for the day and just wears them, even if he questions about their practicality and if his clothes make him look like a clown (he prefers to wear the bare basics when he’s not working: tanks, t-shirts, boxers, joggers, and sweatpants).

Asia knows the girls are up to something.
Those are big boxes, and no way either of them were able to buy that much stuff with their monthly allowance.

Looks like somebody might be looking for Mother’s Day gifts for his wife and aunt (his mother died giving birth to him; his father died before he was a year old while on a medical mission in Africa; so on both Mother’s and Father’s Days he can seem a bit more quiet than usual).
While he’s shopping online, Johannes Faustuz is also going to buy what Tricia and Queenie asked for to help Tyrone and Asia enjoy their date night on Mother’s Day.
-
As for why he’s all dressed up?
It’s because he has a scheduled patient consultation from home, and there’s no way Freyja was going to give up the opportunity to dress up her husband (Faustuz really wanted to wear sweatpants since his patient isn’t going to see him from the waist down, but Freyja insisted that he wears trousers as a “complete package”).

It can’t get any more stereotypical SoCal than this - a couple wearing fashionable activewear with their dogs.
Add masks and sunglasses to hide one’s identity... Yep.
-
Freyja and Johannes Faustuz are out walking their dogs Freud and Frl. Flicka early in the morning to avoid a certain someone (Rufus McClaine, a photojournalist from the same media company Freyja works for) who’s always trying to get a photo of them together for the press.
Peoples really wanna know who’s the elusive “Jonah Fritz Ström” more so since Freyja has been hosting her show from home and he can be seen in the background, especially when he’s home from work.
—
I’m still feeling exhausted, but I’ll finish up the “Mother’s Day” arc sometime this month.
As for MerMay... eh... I might draw a mermaid somewhere?🤷🏻♀️
It’s not like I can go anywhere to get inspiration and recharge; I’m also suffering from lack of sleep with my work schedule currently being at night and roofers banging around during the day.😒🥱😑

Step Two: Making Tyrone the perfect husband.
-
And~ Johannes Faustuz is starting to see what’s wrong.
Asia acts mean to him because she can’t accept that Tyrone isn’t as nice as he used to be (she’s actually quite smitten by how polite Faustuz is towards her, but doesn’t want to admit it), while his coworker has some masculinity issues that needs a lot of TLC (Tyrone doesn’t like admitting that Asia does a better job taking care of their daughter Queenie, nor does he likes shopping with her for clothes and crafting supplies).
Until Tyrone and Asia put their stubbornness aside, Hr. Dr. Kasper can’t get to Step Three: Make the Williamses a happy couple again.

Step One: What’s up with the Williamses?
-
Johannes Faustuz wants to find out why Tyrone keeps avoiding going home, and why Asia is so mean (especially towards him).
So he made a relationship questionnaire for Tyrone to fill out; except Faustuz forgot to write it in English - oops.
Once he gets his results, the Herr Doktor will proceed to Step Two: Make Tyrone the perfect husband.

Time for a man-to-man talk in the office.
-
Usually it’s Hr. Dr. Kasper pressed against the wall, but the tables are turned with Tyrone dealing with a frustrated work buddy.
Johannes Faustuz is at his wits end dealing with Asia, so he needs Tyrone to be the husband she deserves to calm things down - and he’s going to help him out by asking personal questions.

Tyrone and Johannes Faustuz are finally together again.
With PPE, they could maybe possibly technically hug, but Hr. Dr. Kasper is as cuddly as a hedgehog to colleagues.🦔
Faustuz is also wearing a hot pink button headband his wife made for him so he can keep his hair off his face and ears pain-free.
-
He’s back at work now that elective surgeries are approved at the hospital (he’s a Surgical Oncologist).
He was suspended for a month since his ward was converted into COVID-19 beds and breaking down into tears seeing a dying patient that reminded him of his uncle Heinrich (also having Death constantly whispering in his ear, and his boss not happy about a Grim Reaper walking around collecting souls effortlessly).

Took almost three hours to color this in.💀
I really need sleep now, lol.
(I’ll post the speed-coloring video on IGTV as well)
-
Freyja and Johannes Faustuz wore cute sun hats in the last pic I made; Cedrick doesn’t want to match his parents, so he went all black despite the heat (black is just a badass color because it’s the rainbow absorbed into the abyss).
This time you can really see Cedrick’s heterochromia (odd-eyes; both Cedrick and his father Hr. Dr. Kasper have it).
-
The California Poppy:
These things bloom every year after the rain is over, and some years we get “Superblooms” when the hills are all orange and gold with them (there’d be traffic and accidents just because people would slow down to look at the hills while driving😑).
They’re obviously another favorite flower of mine because of their vibrant color ; pair the poppy with the cornflower, and it’s just an awesome combination of colors (blue and yellow is classic - just look at store logos like IKEA).
