Somehow, somewhere, sometime in the 1980s with Richard [Death] and Sigrid (Johannes’ parents). “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann”/“Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime” by Nena is actually one of my favorite songs from the 1980s - no disrespect to her most well known and loved “99 Luftballons”/“99 Red Balloons”. [I understand enough to know the two versions aren’t the same song translated one language into the other; some songs also sound much better in their native language, so I guess that’s when my Duolingo lessons are paying off…] — As for the characters… it’s just really fun drawing them in their respective decade’s fashion. Richard’s look is a hint residual from the 1970s with the striped t-shirt, gym shorts, and socks, but the 1980s did carry that athletic style well until up to the early 1990s (and short gym shorts for men seem to be back again in the 2020s); he has design influences mostly from Robert Redford, who was a heartthrob of the previous decade of the 1970s - and the actor actually played Death in “The Twilight Zone” (there might be faint hints of David Bowie, as well as Brad Pitt and River Phoenix, but Richard was definitely not a teen in the 1980s - he’s quite ancient). Sigrid’s look was heavily inspired by Brook Shields and Jennifer Connelly’s fashion in the 1980s; her overall appearance was based off of a combination of the two teenage actresses since they were both popular at the time (long dark blonde/brown hair and bright blue eyes). With Sigrid being around Richard/Death all the time, it kinda gives “Labyrinth” vibes, but it’s really the classic trope of “Death and the Maiden” - the entity of decay and the end of life lusting after the ultimate symbol of beauty and the beginning of life. — #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #moldivvideolab #prequelapp #motionleap #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #couple #vhsaesthetic #1980saesthetic

Happy Galentine’s Day! ❤️‍🔥 It’s been a long while since I’ve drawn her… This is Patricia “Tricia” Williams—a university student under Johannes’ guidance and the niece of Tyrone Williams. A dedicated athlete with a passion for volleyball and the latest music trends, Tricia prefers to focus on sports and entertainment rather than her studies. However, her ability to see mythical creatures and spirits often draws unwanted attention from the supernatural world. Despite her Haitian great-grandmother’s insistence on learning Voodoo and potion-making, Tricia has long ignored her magical heritage. Since meeting the Kasper family, she’s been encouraged to improve her grades and explore the occult—potentially unlocking her own hidden magical abilities. #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #animeartstyle #femalecharacter #fashion #galentinesday #red #afropuffs

Sigrid practicing magic with Richard✨ Despite relying on Activation Potions to access her Magic Potential, Sigrid’s abilities surpass those of her peers at the Enchantress Academy. She can cast complex spells requiring immense energy, though prolonged use leaves her depleted—especially after a Demonstration Spell at a Debutante Ball. As the incarnation of Death, Richard possesses vast magical knowledge and effortlessly wields intricate spells. Occasionally, he offers guidance, helping Sigrid refine and advance her abilities. #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #prequelapp #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #animeartstyle #originalart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #magic

Something simple featuring Richard’s and Sigrid’s modern-day grandson Cedrick. Since he’s only 14 and can’t drive himself, Cedrick relies heavily on using Sigrid’s old pink bicycle to get to places. I guess it’s going to be a thing now to include a Chat GPT generated story included with each of these pics… 🤷🏼❓ Anyway, I stayed up way too late making this and I’m trying to decompress and cope the best way I can while the world around me is descending into chaos… [srly… I can’t with the TikTok whiplash, WTF is up with IG’s grid, and all the other Sche!ße going on just this year already… and it’s STILL ONLY JANUARY?!] #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #animeartwork #animeartstyle #femalecharacter #malecharacter #shortstory

Why do I draw summery pics in the dead of Winter…?
