Richard’s true form as Death💀(a.k.a. “The Grim Reaper” or “Der Sensenmann” in the Kaspers’ native language).

While as a human incarnation, Richard transforms into Death when he’s in close personal contact with something or someone that needs their soul immediately removed by Fate’s orders.
He’s been able to transform into Death since he was about 22, the estimated age when the last bone in the human body full fuses - making the incarnation’s body fully matured.
With each transformation, a little piece gets wasted away from the inside out, leading to an early “death” by age 35-40 and forcing him back into a permanent skeletal form until Fate decides when he can live as a human again - usually once in 1,000 years (Death has been reborn within 150-500 years depending on Fate’s agenda; he’s also been reborn twice before within the Kasper bloodline, giving the family its reputation as “the tools of Death”).
Richard was nearing his expiration when he met Sigrid, making her one of his last victims as an incarnation; normally he’s merciless when collecting souls, but seeing Sigrid somehow tugged at his heartstrings and made him pity her cursed condition by helping Sigrid live as much of a fulfilled life - resulting in marriage and having a son with her (in fact, he was so in love with her that he decided to keep Sigrid’s soul by his side after her death).
If a Reaper needs Death’s assistance, only his descendants can summon him with a spell that temporarily gives back his human form until the task is done (usually within 2 days, no more than a week).

Taking things out of context makes it sound much raunchier than what’s really happening, especially Aina not being able to see her daughter and customer while pruning her plants.
This was also before Sigrid and Richard were a couple, back when she was mean and spiteful towards him after suffering a broken heart (her childhood crush Batty rejected her confession and got engaged to another girl, leaving her to think she’ll never be love another before her life curse takes effect within two years).

•Normally Richard hates cats because they’re constantly attracted to him and chase unclaimed wandering souls away like yarn balls (annoying for Reapers, especially when he’s the actual Grim Reaper Death Himself; this is why Kaspers have pet dogs, especially Hellhounds).
But since meeting Sigrid (who loves cats), he’s been able to tolerate them more - up to the point he’s attached to the neighborhood tomcat Odin and Sigrid’s neighbor’s cat Hedy.
•Sigrid often gets cold whenever she’s out and about.
She’s not fond of Richard’s fur coat fashion-wise (she said it makes him look like a wild bear), but as soon as he wraps her in it, she immediately forgets how much she hates it with its warmth and scent (Richard wears Calvin Klein Obsession cologne).
•Sigrid’s childhood crush Batty constantly rebuffs her affection over the years, finally up to the point he started dating an older girl from her academy and recently proposed.
She initially took out her heartbroken frustrations out on Richard when they first met, but with each visit to her mother’s flower shop, Sigrid slowly became attached to him despite his reputation as a Playboy and true identity as Death.
She’s finally opening up, wondering if he’d like to go to the formal dinner with her at the academy (I might draw up something with this idea in mind; and because it’s a masquerade, Richard could hide his true form under a mask…).

Death’s Son dressed to kill.

Hr. Dr. Kasper hates being referred to as “Death’s Son”, “Der Sensenmanns Sohn”, or even “Dickie’s Boy” by the Occult community mainly because it makes him feel inferior and he hates being associated with the very entity that he battles as a doctor (he’s also a Reaper, but prefers to have his victims on good terms and willing to let go of their souls; as for rogue monsters, he’s merciless like all Kaspers before him).
He’s not very forgiving of his father being the one who ultimately “killed” his mother Sigrid (removed her soul soon after he was born), or how his abrupt “death” came to be when he was a child (made himself look like he died from a respiratory infection when in reality he was rapidly reverting back to his skeletal form).
But being Death’s son also makes many fear him just from hearing his name, especially for those who’ve personally seen Death as Richard Kasper - he was called “Death Incarnate” because of his no-nonsense and cruel methods of collecting souls and killing monsters, often leaving behind a visceral scene and people emotionally scarred (only a very few people refer to Richard as “Playboy Dick” because of his past of dating numerous women before shattering their hearts - some to the point of dying; this is another reason why Hr. Dr. Kasper doesn’t like is father - past lovers had approached him thinking he was Richard).
One more major reason why he despises Death is because people would add how much he looks just like his human form and wonder if he’ll be joining him soon since he’s approximately the age when all incarnations of Death “die” (35-40).
He’s not quite ready to be an extension of Death Himself, but he’s doesn’t plan to quit his current living role as nephew, cousin, father, husband, colleague, friend, doctor, and professor anytime soon.

Hr. Dr. Kasper, Cedrick, and their distant cousin Kiya (Yevdokiya).

Kiya is staying with the Kasper Family until Auntie Vasilisa (Baba Yaga) is finished casting her complex spells repairing and relocating their house from the Red Forest of Chernobyl (it’s a really big house with chicken legs and skull lanterns).
She’s almost two years older than Cedrick but looks like she could be his twin or younger sister, and is a Junior Reaper like Cedrick.
She’s still in High School (unlike Cedrick who’s a Wunderkind and working with his father), has a very nurturing personality (she treats Cedrick as the little sibling she always wanted), and likes making yarn dolls and sweaters.
Freyja has been enjoying having another girl in the house, Faustuz has been a bit apprehensive since she randomly magically appeared via his grandmother Aina’s teleportation potion, and Cedrick… he’s the only boy with older girl cousins on both sides of his family, so he’ll be fine.

Is it way too early to think about Summer?☀️
Because it’s been pushing over 80F/30C here in California and it already feels like Summer when it’s not even officially Spring yet - I want my Winter weather, Damnit!

I haven’t posted my last two pics here on IG yet (one will be posted on 30 March for specific reasons; the other is already posted on my website frausama.com if you want to see it before it’s eventually posted here).
This one is fresh from my iPad, and I don’t think I’ve made anything that screams 1980s aesthetic more than this pic (I’m sure I’ll make another one that’ll be just as much retro).
I have 3 versions featured: glasses on, glasses off, and Richard with trunks on (sometimes Sigrid gets too embarrassed that her boyfriend goes out only wearing a Speedo🩲).
Sigrid and Richard often went to the beach away from Copenhagen for weekend dates🏖; at the peak of Summer in July, Richard would take Sigrid out sailboat rides at his hometown (he’s from Kiel where there’s an annual sailboat festival⛵️).

🐼 Side Note: I also just watched “Turning Red”, and boy that movie hit me hard with some of my childhood memories - I actually was in 8th Grade in 2002 just like Mei!😱
(I actually was into the “Backstreet Boys” more than “*NSync”, had a Giga Pet knock-off, collected those stickers [esp. Lisa Frank ones], owned a portable CD player, but I didn’t get a flip-phone until I was 18).
And being half Asian, I can identify with trying to be “the perfect daughter”, but my mom wasn’t quite as crazy as Mei’s (my mom was actually WAY~ more into Boy Bands than I was lol, and she was one of the people who kept me in touch with my artistic side; but there’s many other things she does that still drives me nuts and embarrasses me, so yar…😅)
