Sigrid also likes it when Richard is wearing his ridiculous gym shorts for obvious reasons 😏 (Aina teases her daughter about how much she stares at his butt whenever he leaves the flower shop).

Sigrid initially hated it when Richard called “Siri”, but as their relationship progressed from friendship to romance, she didn’t mind it as much - in fact, she missed it when he was gone for months at a time when he was traveling for work.
After officially becoming a couple, she would giggle every time he whispered her nickname into her ear before kissing her goodbye; this was also the last thing Richard did for Sigrid before she died, knowing that her last memory would be a happy one as he pulled out her soul.

Heinrich met his wife Yoko abroad in Hiroshima, Japan during a business trip there.
The two quickly fell in love and married within two months, starting a family as soon as Yoko moved to Kiel with Heinrich.
They had two children - a son Hansel, and a daughter Hannah two years later; but because he didn’t have a son who inherited “Odin’s Eye”, Heinrich had to give up his position as family heir to his younger brother Richard.
This caused a brief rift in the brothers’ relationship, but Richard quickly bonded with the two children, often spoiling them with candy and toys every time he came home to Kiel.
Heinrich and Yoko would take in Richard’s son Johannes Faustuz after he died; Yoko would continue to raise Faustuz as her own after her own children had left home and Heinrich’s death from lung cancer.

Richard and Sigrid took much longer to establish their relationship as a couple.
Richard had just broken off his engagement and was sent to Copenhagen to a flower shop; he realized he was sent to observe the shopkeeper’s teenage daughter Sigrid who was cursed with only two years left to live.
Richard immediately felt pity but was also smitten by Sigrid’s beauty, constantly wooing her with gifts and affection whenever he visited her.
Sigrid initially didn’t want anything to do with him with his playboy reputation and being so much older than her; but after Richard suffered a serious case of lovesickness during a visit, Sigrid allowed him to recover in her room, which lead to a night of unexpected passion.
Richard and Sigrid were married in a year; they had a son, but Sigrid died a few days after giving birth.
Richard felt so much guilt in Sigrid’s death that he soon followed after her from heartbreak and illness almost three years later (there’s been hearsay that Richard hasn’t died but was sent to the underworld to keep souls from coming back out; there’s also rumors saying that he’s actually Death himself).

It’s June already?!
2021 is flying by fast compared to 2020, but I still feel like I haven’t done anything yet.
I’ve also been really busy, tired, and lazy - partly because of lack of sleep, having an extra day of work, and several people from work being sick and taking days off at the same time in the past few weeks.
And with Summer around the corner and things quickly opening up, it’s only going to get busier and more stressful (my concern is that the pandemic can easily get bad again if people aren’t careful and don’t get their shots).

I’m still stuck with Artist’s Block, my drawing hand still hurts, and I feel like I need to hibernate for a few days to regain my energy.

Johannes Faustuz can never get a break from soul collecting because there’s always something or someone dying nearby.
Like any task, there’s times it gets so busy he can’t keep up and needs help.
Faustuz is also wearing an updated version of his father’s outfit from the 1980s.

Grim Reapers and Monster Hunters are becoming more rare as less people are in tune with the spiritual, mythical, and occult world.
And not all souls get collected based on what they are (ie. plant and insect souls are mostly harmless, but animal and human souls - especially those who died suddenly and violently - are extremely dangerous and prone to transforming into monsters that harm the living).
Luckily most souls like to gather together and often like to float around the closest Grim Reaper wanting to move on.
But there are creatures that like to chase or devour them (cats can be a Grim Reapers biggest annoyance because they not only had multiple lives but also chase souls as if they’re yarn balls).

“If it doesn’t have holes and they still fit, there’s no need to get new clothes” was Richard’s philosophy - thus he had a hard time switching to the 1980s in regards to his fashion.
But Sigrid often rolled her eyes and groaned seeing him in clothes from a decade ago whenever he visited her; she’d save up men’s fashion articles and cut out each item to place on top of Richard from a distance, taking a photo as she did so to show him later that it’s time to give up his denim bell bottoms for straight leg jeans (he finally changed his pants after they started dating).

Someone had questioned whether if everyone would be blond, but NO!
Not all Swedes, Germans, or Scandinavians in general are blond in real life, so this family should reflect that fact (my grandma is Swedish, and she had auburn hair like Freyja’s cousins Einar and Gunnar).
It’s a silly, stupid stereotype that gets tacked on for lots of nationalities that are “majority White” (*glares at a certain popular anime that starts with an “H”*).

Freyja loves both halves of her family, but it’s hinted that she might love her Kasper part more due to the challenges of having an overbearing husband and moody Wunderkind that tests her wits versus the Ströms constantly spoiling her like a princess without question.

Being married to Freyja, poor Johannes Faustuz is often assumed to be a Ström himself by her coworkers and the media (getting the name “Jonah Fritz Ström” from the confusion); he obviously hates it not being called by his actual name and title, but for family’s sake, he’s willing to put up with it.

As for family traits, Ströms usually have blue or green eyes and some shade of blond or red hair.
Cedrick looks a lot like his Ström relatives (especially his grandfather Erik and mother’s cousin Werner), but is immediately casted out as a Kasper with his odd eyes (Kaspers inherit heterochromia if they have blue eye genes).

Papa Ström has always been a doting father to his daughter, especially since her mother’s death and setting her up to be the family’s business successor despite being a girl.
He’s very proud of his daughter’s many accomplishments, but still questions her choice to marry a “low-class quack” Kasper.
If he’s not busy with his shipping company, he’s developing weapons to defeat monsters with his daughter and four nephews.

She also doesn’t like when Erik tries to belittle and starts fights with her husband Johannes Faustuz just to prove himself as the “alpha man of the family” (her four cousins, on the other hand, are deathly afraid of her husband after seeing him kill a rouge gnome with his bare hands; they’re also intimidated by Faustuz’s height and encyclopedic knowledge).
Freyja often has to remind her father that she loves him no matter what - he’s just no longer her No.1 man in her life.
