It’s always the cutest Yōkai that are the most dangerous and powerful. - Normally Kappas and Hyōsubes are mischievous little things, but without their garden and pond at the Kasper’s estate, they’re desperate for water to stay alive. And they’re being very polite to Johannes Faustuz for some reason that’ll be revealed later. - I’ll make another “Wunderkind’s Notes” to explain what Kappas, Hyōsubes, and Garappas are (they’re close relatives just like Hansel, Hannah, and Johannes Faustuz). — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #shower #yokai #kappa #hyosobe

“I always feel like somebody’s watching me~ And I have no privacy~” Cue the “Psycho” music🔪🚿 - Johannes Faustuz hasn’t been able to relax since coming back to the Kaspers’ home in Kiel. Not even the bathroom is safe. So what Yōkai would be drawn to the shower? - I used an app called Pixaloop to make the steam and running water. Let me know if you like me to make more pics with effects.🤗 — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #pixaloop #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #malecharacter #shower

All three Kasper cousins are together again after a number of years. As for Aunt Yoko, she’s a no show. She doesn’t want part of this reunion despite needing help getting rid of Yōkai in the family house. - Yoko isn’t very attached to Johannes Faustuz after having to raise him alongside her own children, nor was she happy with the decision of the family’s patriarch choosing Faustuz to be the future head of the Kasper family despite being the youngest child. The main reason is that neither Hansel or Hannah inherited “Odin’s Eye,” which is expressed as having odd eyes; “Odin’s Eye” is a trait that allows the person to see a creature’s strengths and weaknesses in a glance, which is needed for the Kaspers’ family secret business of defeating monsters. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #halftone #mangastyle #animestyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacters #femalecharacter #originalcharacterart #cousins

With everything going back to the 1990s these days, let’s go back when Johannes Faustuz was a cute little nine-going-on-ten-year-old. - Faustuz was raised by his uncle Heinrich and aunt Yoko since he was orphaned as an infant (both parents died on a trip to Africa “on a mission to cure illnesses”; it’s still a mystery how and what killed them). He has two older cousins named Hansel(Hanzo🇯🇵) and Hannah(Hana🇯🇵); Hansel is eight years older while Hannah is six years older. His cousins are half Japanese, making him physically stand out from his adoptive siblings. All three children have similar names (Hansel, Hannah, Johannes Faustuz), making many people say that there’s “too many Hans in the Kasper family.” Unfortunately Uncle Heinrich passed on from lung cancer when Faustuz was almost eleven, making times hard for the family when Hansel just started college and Hannah often running away with her boyfriend. This was also when Faustuz first meets Freyja Ström, a foreign exchange student from Sweden who will eventually become his wife. - I’ll have a story sometime with yokai in the near future featuring the Herr Doktor’s extended family members since they’re Japanese. But which yokai...? I’ll look one up that’d be fun for all three cousins and elderly Aunt Yoko to deal with. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacters #originalcharacterart #family #1990s #frauv8_ocs

Tyrone Williams, Johannes Faustuz Kasper, and Leyon DeValeur - affectionately called “The Daddies” at work obviously because all three are fathers. - Couldn’t decide whether Faustuz looked better with or without glasses for this pic. Mama Kasper wearing a polka-dot bikini in the colors of her home country of Sweden.🇸🇪 But blue and yellow are also Del Mar colors...🤔 Either way, Papa Kasper would be dying from a nosebleed nearby, lol. — #digitaldrawing #digitalart #ipadart #ipaddrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #autodesksketchbook #originalcharacter #originalcharacterart #femalecharacter #woman #swimsuit #bikini #hat #redhead #redhair #blue #yellow

THE END OF MERMAY! OMG!!!😩 - I just had to end the storyline with Johannes Faustuz wearing a tropical flower Hawaiian shirt as he holds his new preserved mermaid specimen in a jar. And the Herr Doktor has more jarred specimens aside from mermaids, which can be a future idea for a drawing. - So what’s next? Aside from miscellaneous character drawings and other things, I could make more series like this - but hopefully limited to a few pages versus 25 pages (32 if you include the character sheets and “Wunderkind Notes” - which is A LOT). And the halftone coloring is kinda fun since I really like using textures and patterns, so it’s something that won’t go away soon in my art. - Comment below on what you think - perhaps even suggest what mythological creature should be featured to keep the Kaspers busy? — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacter #malecharacter #man #doctor #mermay2019 #mermay #fijimermaid #mermaid

One more “Wunderkind’s Notes” before the end of this fishy tale, and a closer look at Cedrick’s waiter’s uniform. It’s been a while since I’ve posted something. I’m currently busy with a 5-piece commission on the side, so my Mermaid/Meerjungfrau Project won’t be progressing as fast as it has been (paid work trumps personal projects). - Anyway ~ Here’s Page 15 - not including the character sheets and “Wunderkind’s Notes”. And yes~ This page took a really long time to make since it has multiple panels and it’s colored; future pages might be black and white again during the time I’m working on my commission since they’re less work. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacters #man #boy #femalecharacters #woman #girl #child #mermay2019 #mermay

Papa Ström and Papa Kasper. - They never quite see each other eye to eye - figuratively and literally (maybe when Johannes Faustuz was Cedrick’s age he was the same height as Erik). Erik always thought of the Herr Doktor as weak, scrawny, and a pushover; Faustuz thinks of his father-in-law as insensitive, stubborn, and a bully. Despite their disagreements, they both love Freyja and Cedrick very much - sometimes to the point they’ll fight each other for their family’s affection. The one thing Erik will admit about Faustuz is that he’s an honorable man of his word and hard worker; likewise, Faustuz respects his father-in-law being more experienced with life in general. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #characters #originalcharacters #malecharacters #men #charactersheet #characterdesign #characterstudy #frauv8_ocs

And “backup” is a very grumpy Grandpa Erik and Freyja Ström. Papa Ström isn’t happy to see that his son-in-law was defeated by a mermaid. - You can kind of think Erik Ström like a Tony Stark, running a shipping business to disguise his expertise in occult weaponry - something the Kaspers will need capture and kill the mermaid. - Freyja looks like a dainty lady, but she can pack a punch - especially if her family is in trouble. She and the Herr Doktor are childhood sweethearts, making them a couple nobody should mess with - that’s if anyone knows that they are a couple. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #ipadproart #ipadrodrawing #lineart #halftone #animestyle #mangastyle #comic #originalcharacters #malecharacter #femalecharacter #father #daughter #fatheranddaughter #man #woman #mermay2019 #mermay

A little bit late posting this pic up since it was made yesterday and it’s May now. I’ve been feeling a bit more tired than usual the last several days. - I’m still figuring out how to work with the mummified jarred mermaid for MerMay. This time it’s Mama Kasper looking fashionable as always, wearing a palm leaf and stripes printed dress with a pair of Fendi sunglasses and an ivory-white clutch purse. - Feel free to color the #lineart - just tag me @frauv8 and #colorthisinyourstyle. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #originalcharacter #femalecharacter #redhead #redhair #mangastyle #woman #womensfashion #stripes #palmleaves #clutch #sunglasses #dress #green #white #black

This time it’s a #drawthisinyourstyle of @bluebryy_pancakes OC. - I don’t do many of #drawthisinyourstylechallenge pics often because I want to do redraws of less popular ones for obviously reasons (you gotta give love to the lesser known people in Instagram). I stuck with as much of the original color scheme as possible since #yellow and #cyan are a nice complimentary pair. — #bluebryy_pancakes #bluebrryschallenge #digitalart #digitaldrawing #autodesksketchbook #drawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #originalcharacter #femalecharacter #character #characterart #redraw #angel #girl #blonde #blondehair

Finally drew something in my #moleskinesketchbook this time, and I finally tested out a 5 pack of #ecolinebrushpens I bought some time ago. - It’s a different #character looking a bit 1970s retro, and the only OC that immediately comes to mind who could of been alive at that time as a college student is Leyon DeValeur. — #moleskine ##sketchbook #drawing #sketchbookdrawing #ink #inkart #inkdrawing #markers #markerart #markerdrawing #m_artcollection #kuretake #kuretakebrushpen #malecharacter #originalcharacter #glasses

Poor Cedrick trying to be nice with Tricia this time now that he knows she plays the same app he plays when he’s not busy. - Normally these two don’t get along with Tricia always ditching babysitting duty, and Cedrick having to help her with homework and babysitting in her place. Tricia also refers Cedrick as either “Dutch Boy” or “Dork” because of his appearance, awkwardness, and being a few years younger than her. Cedrick doesn’t think much of her other than being a bully and lazy, but also full of potential if she can get her act together for a sports scholarship (she’s a great volleyball player). Maybe they’ll get along later in life, but until then as teenagers, there’s room to grow up. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #originalcharacters #autodesksketchbook #teenagers #onthephone #teengirl #teenboy

I finally did a #drawthisinyourstylechallenge, but one that’s not super popular like the girl with the oranges or the pink-haired girl in the Polaroid frame (I’m sure you know what I’m referring to if you’re keeping track of these challenges, lol). This is my take on @limustrator’s #limeredraw, and it’s done in a completely experimental version of my style. #drawthisinyourstylechallenge for anyone who wants one. I also included the line art for anyone who wants to color Cedrick in for a #colorthis instead. Anyone else thinking the colors reminds you of a Crayola crayon box? Just me? Probably just me. 😭 - I’m not popular enough for anyone to really notice me making these. I don’t expect people to actually draw/color Cedrick, but if you do, please tag me @frauv8 or #frauv8 - I’d like to make a post of everyone’s versions. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadproart #ipadprodrawing #drawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #originalcharacter #malecharacter #characterdesign #drawthisinyourstyle #dtiys #drawthisinyourownstyle #colorthisinyourstyle #colorthisinyourownstyle #chartreuse #green #yellow #frauv8drawthisinyourstyle #frauv8colorthisin #dtiys
