Kinda a redraw of a pic from 2019 (check last slide)…
It’s a bit messy and sketchy, but much more colorful - especially with Cedrick’s new halftone hairstyle.

I really liked 2022’s take on the world of Batman - I thought each character was fleshed out enough to distinguish who they are, and it felt more realistic compared to previous versions of Batman.
I also thought the actors were great in the movie (screw the “Twilight Sparkles” references to Robert Pattinson - he was a good Batman; he was Cedric in Harry Potter, and I liked him there too).
What did you think of the movie? 🦇❓❓

The dreaded Daylight Savings Time is among us…
Like CK here, I don’t do well losing time for sleep -I’ll constantly yawn so much that my eyes gets teary, and I’ll be more jumpy and tense than usual.
(I included Cedrick’s recent temporary hair color change - he only has blue hair for a few weeks before he gets another haircut)

Hr. Dr. Kasper finally found the source of all the random neighing happening at night in the backyard - it was a little abandoned eight-legged Sleipnir colt!
It’s not known how long Søren will stay with the Kaspers, but he’s turning into a troublemaker eating Freyja’s miniature golden apples and other garden plants - but at the same time, he’s a new playmate for Fritz and Frl. Flicka; eventually when he gets much bigger, Søren would most likely be sent to Freyja’s family in Sweden where he’ll have more space to run around.
(More notes about Sleipnir to come…)

And here’s Freyja drawn from a previous night that never got posted until now…
Looking at this pic and the other post, it looks like Mama Kasper surprised her son with an unexpected call/text, lol.

It’s 22-02-22!
And it feels like the world is about to blow up like Cedrick’s phone…📱
(We still have a pandemic to worry about, and then Russia just couldn’t keep his hands off Ukraine… 😒)
-
Lately I’ve been doodling my OCs with their phones to use as “filler images” for reminders, and so far people are entertained (you never know which one I’ll pick, lol).

Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️
This was posted briefly as an Insta-Story, but the actual pic was on my website frausama.com first before posting here (sometimes I’ll post a few things there exclusively before it finally gets posted on my Instagram account).
-
Freyja’s heels have skeleton hands, and her earrings are raven skulls with ruby eyes - both nods to her Reaper husband and son.

“I see right through you…”
-
Whenever this Junior Reaper activates his odd eye while casting powerful spells, bones slowly appear as tattoos on his skin.
Both Cedrick and his father often wear masks, face paint, and gloves to cover up this effect to lessen the focus of their direct linage to Death Himself (Der Sensenmann) - a.k.a. Richard Kasper.
Activating “Odins Auge” also allows them to see through people and adversaries to search their vital organs for weaknesses and how long of a lifespan they have.

Something really different:
Inside Hr. Dr. Kasper’s car late at night (he doesn’t drive his inherited red VW Beetle from his father Richard to/from work - it’s too old to survive a long California traffic jam).
Could draw inside Freyja’s car next… We shall see…

Might be a bit early for a pink color scheme before it’s February…
Just another pic of Cedrick and his (mother’s) dog Frl. Flicka.

A quick short of Bertie and Hr. Dr. Kasper.
-
Bernadette “Bertie” Santamaria-Santos is Freyja’s quirky assistant who also happens to be an Aswang; she’s not a very strong one (she’s at the lowest tier of the Aswang hierarchy), and actually prefers the blood of cows and pigs over humans.
Bertie is over 120 years old, and unlike traditional vampires, she enjoys spending time outside during the daytime (she hates computer and phone screens due to blue light).
As a Reaper, Faustuz is ready to attack at any moment if she goes rogue, making it awkward whenever Bertie is around for business.
He’s also called “Mr. Ström” by Bertie because she sees him in possession of Freya, a lower status beneath his wife.
It’s not certain if she knows Death/Richard or that Faustuz is his son, but she can sense there’s something odd about him as “not a normal human“ with “an evil eye” (monsters are frightened by the Kasper’s inherited trait “Odin’s Eye” due to its ability to see their weaknesses).

Tatzelwurms have venom in their saliva (being part snake), and it’ll kill anyone who hasn’t built up a gradual tolerance to it.
Richard is relieved Sigrid only got bit once (she’s never fought a Tatzelwurm before), but he would of been inconsolable had she gotten another bite and died before he could treat her with an antidote.
Sigrid is excited that their prototype repellent works, but promises to wait next time for another test with Richard around to kill any Tatzelwurm that gets too close.
(This happens right before Richard had his trip to Greece to track down a Manticore, and when he first caught Lovesickness after realizing how much he cared about Sigrid despite being Death wanting her soul).

Another bonus Sigrid’s diary entry: The Neighborhood Tom Cat
-
Hedy the neighbor’s cat would always ran off to Aina’s greenhouse to hunt and nap in the warm building.
Turns out she’s was also interested in the neighborhood Tom cat, a white odd-eyed cat known to roam around and yowl loudly at night.
Richard isn’t happy dealing with cats since they interfere with soul collecting, but rather have cats around besides Tatzelwurms and other small rogue creatures.
Sigrid thinks it’s cute that Hedy had a boyfriend, but at the same time was saddened every time she saw the Tom cat’s odd eyes while Richard was gone for long periods of time.
-
On a tangent, Richard and the Tom cat are similar in many ways:
Both are odd-eyed, pale in coloring, and have a long history of being around numerous ladies.
Richard had stopped being a playboy after being engaged briefly and now focused on taking care of Sigrid who had less than two years of life to live.
The Tom cat was an old cat, sensing his time is nearly up, hardly straying from Hedy in the last year of his life.

Richard normally would enjoy getting attention from Sigrid, but being naked and covered with countless Tatzelwurm bites and scrapes, he feels extremely vulnerable - making him embarrassed, sensitive, and jumpy around her.
Sigrid was also not initially happy dealing with him locked up in the bathroom whenever she needed to freshen up before working in her mother’s flower shop; she quickly got used to seeing a nude Richard and helped heal his wounds with sample ointments she and Aina made with their plants.
Richard hates dealing with Tatzelwurms because of how vicious and destructive they are; he also hates them because he always ends up being a bloody mess after getting rid of them - which led to the invention of his Tatzelwurm repellent.
Since he’d be covered and dripping with so much blood, Aina would force him to strip down and rinse off before being kept in the family bathroom to prevent him from staining her rugs inside her flower shop; at the meantime Aina would wash his clothes and hang them out, hoping they’ll be dry before Sigrid returned home from school.
But sometimes Sigrid was back before his clothes were done and he was still disinfecting his wounds out in the backyard, which led to awkward moments between the two - especially before they were officially a couple.
