The featured song in the background (“Meet My Friend” by Eddy Huntington) had me in stitches then facepalming because it’s so… well, the guy in the song is very excited to show off his “friend” (if you get the meaning), and Richard’s nickname is also the featured name of this “friend” in the song (it was playing while making this pic - I had my music set to playing random 80s music).
Thus it sets the “wink-wink, nudge-nudge” vibe these two are having here (if they aren’t under observing eyes, Siri and Dick will take advantage to share a quick kiss or two).

I didn’t feel like writing much German this time - it’s been really hurting my brain lately after being abused by “splitting double verbs” in my last several Duolingo lessons (the verb “Anfangen” is an example - “das Spiel fängt in fünf Minuten an”, but then it’s “das Spiel muss in fünf Minuten anfangen” - ARGH!😫).
I’ve also been dabbling with French again to see if I still remember from High School, but the listening exercises remind me how much it drove me crazy (pick your “poison” carefully - it could actually be “poisson” which sounds exactly the same in French!☠️).

Being a Millennial born sometime in the 1980s, Hr. Dr. Kasper’s been really hit hard with the latest retro (especially Y2K) trends going on - he was his son Cedrick’s age around at that time (14 - 16 years old).
And he’s a bit sensitive showing off his past self, but apparently Cedrick thinks it’s funny and cool at the same time that he wore all that stuff (many Millennials like myself aren’t enthusiastic about the Y2K fashion - I grew up with it and not entirely liking it entirely at the time because I got dress-coded so much at school wearing cropped tops and low-rise jeans are actually awful to wear - they really hurt your hips!).

Went a little bit crazy drawing clothes on OCs again, this time with all 4 Kasper Grim Reapers together in normal human form.
Our main 3 Kaspers (Cedrick, Johannes, & Richard) are what many in the western world traditionally think of Grim Reapers wielding scythes and have skeletal forms (Heinrich was a Grim Reaper before giving up his title and role as heir of the Kasper Family; he briefly reprised his duty as one while raising Johannes when Richard had to return to his true identity as Death indefinitely).
Hansel is a special case - normally a Kasper has to have “Odin’s Eye” to become a Reaper (Heterochromia with the ability to see everything living and dead as well as vitals simultaneously), but through his mother’s side Hansel is distantly descended from a line of Jeoseung Saja (Korean Grim Reapers) and deals with souls in a different manner via talismans and chants (Hansel is Japanese/Korean and German/Danish).
Richard is drawn much older here (80-85 years old) due to him adjusting his “human age” had he still remained “alive” whenever he’s briefly summoned back to the living world; the youngest age he can return as human is when he “died”, which happens to be about the same as his son Johannes’ current physical age (it’s similar for Sigrid’s soul if transformed into a Genganger - she can only be physically the age when she died).
As members of the occult community, the Kaspers can live for centuries using inherited magic.
Richard is actually a “Entity” or “Deity” as Death Himself and has been in existence for over 300,000 years; it’s heavily hinted that Johannes and Cedrick are also Entities since they’re directly descended from Death and their physical appearances change whether they take up the task as Grim Reaper, but it’s unknown whether they have to permanently change and give up being human if they’re called to the Underworld.

New Sigrid Version & Original Cedrick Version (2nd Slide).

Being set in the 1980s, Sigrid has a portable tape cassette player (a.k.a. Walkman) on her lap while wearing headphones.
Prior to getting her own, Sigrid would sneak off with her boyfriend Richard’s yellow Walkman while on break from working at her mother’s flower shop.
Sigrid is also wearing her boyfriend’s T-shirt with a logo showing off his hometown of Kiel, Germany (she lives in Copenhagen, Denmark).
Cedrick is living in current times with Bluetooth headphones (AirPods 🎧) connected to his cellphone (or “Handy” as it’s called where he and his family are from, lol) for audio.
His outfit was inspired by male K-Pop idols (particularly Felix of STRAY KIDS), reflecting how popular the genre is in the 2020s and onwards (my modern OCs were originally supposed to be set in the 2030s, but it’s been convenient drawing them for current times).
Even though his technology is much more advanced than his grandmother’s, overall it looks similar and functions the same way.

Sigrid was still bitter about being rejected by Batty on Valentine’s Day 2 months prior; she’s also slowly getting more used to Richard’s presence as her assigned Reaper observing the status of her soul (as well being occasional Handyman and Tatzelwurm exterminator at her mother’s flower shop).
She was aware her mother wanted her to pair up with Richard, and knows he really liked her but kept his emotions to a minimum by giving her glances, compliments, and surprise gifts (only after spending the night together when he was lovesick they started becoming more affectionate with each other).
Sigrid admits she finds Richard attractive and that he looks like a popular actor at the time, but didn’t like the fact that he’s a descendant of a family known for killing Witches in the distant past (as well as other historical atrocities such as bodysnatching and experimentation on humans), has a “Bad Boy” reputation as a Playboy, is so much older that he could pass by as a distant cousin or her guardian, and wears clothes from the past decade (he does slowly upgrade his wardrobe when they start dating).
Over the months leading up to the official start of their romance, Sigrid grew to love his “goofy smile and feathered hair”, his terrible Danish with a German accent (he also speak perfect English with an American accent, another turn on for Sigrid), his scent (combination of sweat, formaldehyde, and CK Obsession cologne), and how his odd-colored eyes would gently blink as he placed his coat over her shoulders for warmth.
She was also surprised how much he enjoys playing arcade games, watches American movies and TV, listens to (and sings) popular songs, and is really good with computers and other new tech in the 1980s - proving that he’s been a good match for her all along.

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted one of these…
• Because Sigrid is a Wicca unable to cast spells without an activation potion, her Enchantress schoolmates target her knowing she can’t retaliate (they would also steal & shatter her potion bottles and slash her bicycle tires).
Her mother Aina usually treats her wounds when she returns home from school, but this one time she had an appointment & asked Richard to watch over the flower shop.
What really pisses him off the most is people attacking others who are defenseless (he broke off his engagement with his ex because she was abusive to his sister-in-law & her children); seeing Sigrid’s face covered up with cuts & bruises was more than enough to trigger his desire to hunt down those who hurt her.
• Regardless whether he’s human or Death, Richard is known for his vengeful temper - he takes souls without warning, and leaves behind a bloody scene to warn monsters & humans alike that he doesn’t mess around.
Knowing this, Sigrid often has to plead with her boyfriend before he gets too haughty & blinded with rage for her sake.
(Kasper men are infamous for being extremely protective of their family members & lovers, the only trait the occult community as a whole admires about the Kaspers)
• It’s not often Freyja gets time off with her husband.
Because she’s the wife of a Reaper, there’s an occasional monster nearby targeting her; what the monster often doesn’t know is that Freyja’s the daughter of an occult weapons maker & can fight almost as well as Johannes.
Of course, sometimes it’s only just the press poaching for shots of her with her elusive man.
• When all 3 generations are gathered together, there’s serious trouble amongst the world of the mythical & occult.
Johannes doesn’t like having to work with his father Richard/Death due to personal issues, plus he does his best not to involve his son Cedrick for Freyja’s sake.
Death can only be summoned by his direct blood-relatives for help (father, nephew, niece, son, and grandson).

A California Winter

I can say with confidence that my OCs have been consistent, more or less, in the last several years - especially these two.

Quite a bit of people in California think 60F is cold (I know someone who actually thinks 72F is too cold!), but me - I LOVE IT!
I’m pretty spoiled with the warm weather most of the year (except Summer - I HATE IT), but it’s nice having cooler weather every now and then.
My ideal daytime temp is about 55-60F so I can wear a light sweater or jacket over my usual T-shirt and leggings and be comfortable for the most part (if it’s colder than 50F, especially at night, then I get uncomfortable and crabby if I’m not wearing enough layers).
In a couple weeks I’ll be in Germany, and I’m really hoping for some snow to contrast the sandy beach I’ve been seeing every time I’m working at Del Mar (not saying I hate the beach - it’s just been there right in front of me a lot).
