It just takes a lot of time to find the right poses and clothes. - It’s pic of Richard and Hedy from the “Scrap Pile/Backburner” that finally got worked on after collecting a bit of virtual dust (I don’t post everything I doodle). As for the character, it’s pretty heavily hinted that Richard isn’t just any Grim Reaper based on how much he’s around Sigrid (who was cursed by her father, leaving her only about 15-16 years to live): he’s an incarnation of Death himself - basically a rare temporary physical form of Death that lasts about 30 years from the time he’s reborn as an infant to his normal state as a rotting corpse. Johannes Faustuz wearing Richard’s fur coat as a cape on top of the expensive clothes Freyja dressed him up with (reference for shirt in last slide). - Like his mother Sigrid, Faustuz never really liked his father’s coat - it’s ridiculously heavy, fluffy, and oversized (Sigrid did admit that she loved how warm it was whenever Richard held her during walks in the winter). It’s one of the many things he inherited from his father - aside from daily journals, tape recordings, photos, vinyl albums, t-shirts, watches, and his 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle. Page 9: Going outside to eat some Dango.🍡 - Like many kids, Cedrick only appears when there’s food around. And like many kids, he doesn’t always listen to his father for his own reasons - Cedrick is very impressionable, especially in regards with his grandfather Erik (there’s times even Hr. Dr. Kasper calls his son a mini-version of Freyja’s father depending on situations). Quick sketchy drawing of this feathered-haired guy from the late 1970s thru early 1980s. 💀 Richard Kasper had been admired, despised, and feared by those involved with the mythical and occult. Like his father “The Black Skull of Kiel”, Richard was efficient in his job reaping souls and killing monsters; as a Kasper, he had a taste for bloodlust and revenge if offended even in the slightest bit - making him the most feared Grim Reaper in Europe after Olaf. Richard was also quite the playboy prior to meeting Sigrid, enjoying the pleasure of loving women then shattering their hearts once he’s done with them (7 girlfriends, 4 one-nighters, and an ex-fiancée). But Richard was also known for his attempts to create treatments for patients and clients that often lacked potency, making people call him a “Quack” (why Erik Ström disliked him when treating his wife Sonja’s lung condition; Sonja, on the other hand, was grateful having a doctor willing to help her despite the odds). Everyone was shocked when Richard finally settled down, mainly because he married a teenage girl with a life curse that was due in a few years (Richard felt so much pity for Sigrid that he wanted to take care of her until her death, resulting the birth of their son Johannes Faustuz); but everyone was also quite shocked how quickly Richard deteriorated after his wife’s death, showing that he’s not the heartless heir of his father’s legacy. - Hr. Sigrid and Richard on their way back to her mother’s flower shop after a long chase around the neighborhood. — Sigrid would often be bullied and attacked by classmates on her way back home from school or the arcade, returning with cuts, scrapes, bruises, and broken glasses. Aina was constantly worried with a jar of healing ointment ready to treat her daughter’s wounds, hoping for a way to keep Sigrid safe; since Richard’s appearance, Aina insisted that he walk Sigrid home to deter further attacks. - Sigrid didn’t like Richard following her around (despite secretly crushing on him), so she’d jog or ride her bike far ahead of him - only to have Richard panicked, chasing and yelling at her (which also kept the bullies away, watching in confusion); Sigrid really enjoyed watching Richard running after her, especially when he’s wearing ridiculous athletic wear (it was the late 70s / early 80s, so men wore short shorts and cropped tops).
