This time is the classic white T-shirt and low-cut tank for Summer; as for what pants he’s wearing, it’s possible that they’re denim bell bottoms.

Normally Richard would flirt with numerous women in his travels as a doctor dealing with assigned missions, hoping one would go with him for the night before repeating the same the next day. But while shopping for rare flowers to make a potion to ward off trolls in Denmark, Richard notices the shopkeeper’s daughter and was instantly captivated by her beauty; he’s told that her name is Sigrid and works with her after school. He wasted no time introducing himself, only to get a condescending glare and Sigrid stomping away. Instead of attracting another woman, Richard was set to win her heart.
Sigrid from the start thought Richard was charming and handsome (her mother got her to admit she likes his goofy smile and his butt in a phone call 😂), but didn’t like a man known for flirting around for one-night stands looking at her as his next target. She continued to refuse his advances, but noticed Richard was starting to look more ragged, sleep deprived, and thin as time passed by; he really was seriously in love with her, so much so that he literally became a shell of the man he used to be. She finally agreed to go out with him after a year of torment, and Richard was beyond overjoyed. Less than a month they were married, and were expecting their first child at the end of 1981.

Richard was a young traveling doctor who was known for being a notorious ladies man, always trying to woo a female to spend the night with - until he meets Sigrid at her mother’s flower shop in Denmark. He was immediately awestruck by her beauty, and did everything in his book to win her; to his dismay, she outright rejected every advance. Richard never had a woman ignore him before, making him even more determined and desperate to attract Sigrid every time he visited the flower shop.
Sigrid was very much enamored with Richard’s looks and charm from the start, but she also knew of his promiscuous behavior and wanted him to stop so she can have him for herself. After a year of tormenting the poor man, Sigrid finally agreed to go out on a date with him; Richard was beyond ecstatic, constantly showering her with letters, gifts, and endless loyalty by marrying her. Less than a year later, they were expecting their first child.
Richard was beyond proud when she gives birth to a healthy baby boy during the holiday season, but his joy quickly turned to despair when she suddenly dies from rapid blood loss; he named their son “Johannes Faustuz” as a reminder that he was a final gift and reminder of the woman who made him work hard for her love. Sadly, Richard dies while out on mission in Africa from infection a few months later, never seeing his son grow up looking like his mother and becoming a doctor like his father.

There’s only two other people in the house who would drink Hr. Dr. Kasper’s coffee, and it’s not his son Cedrick (Cedrick likes his coffee iced and super sweet; Faustuz likes his hot and black with very little to no sugar - even in Summer).
Freyja likes drinking her husband’s coffee, but usually takes the whole mug with her when she drinks it; obviously he doesn’t like giving up his drink, but Faustuz loves his wife so much that he’s willing being a monster for a day (he’s been called “Hot-Headed Hans” because of his fits of anger).
His father-in-law Erik, on the other hand, is a bit of an opportunist who’d slurp down anyone’s untouched drink and leaves the empty cup behind; it’s just another silly reason for Papa Kasper and Papa Ström to fight each other.

Most of you voted for color, but I included a monochromatic version on Slide 4; I used Pantone colors, the colored version with Biscay Green 15-5718 in the background, and both versions using Bone White 12-0105 for their clothes and Moonless Night 19-4203 for the line art.

The original version of this was me smearing brushes around - which usually happens when I’m really tired and unmotivated, which then perpetuates a vicious cycle of disappointment and dissatisfaction (you can see the original version on Slide 5).
There’s still something nice about the rough sketch (Slide 7) because of the looser lines compared to the finish versions.

Each of their shirts have a flower and corresponding color based on that flower - Johannes Faustuz has the Cornflower; Tyrone has the Magnolia.
It seems like a trend right now to use Pantone swatches and RBG/CMYK/Hex color codes on pics, so I did it here (you can see it better on the close-ups).
Also, they’re wearing face masks since it’s now the new normal - and they can be fashionable depending on color, fabric, and style.

Felt like making another one of these mock-up fashion magazine covers - this time with Papa Kasper (a.k.a. Mr. Ström).
Got some Steve Jobs vibes with the black and glasses, lol.

He’s been in the background of Freyja’s live blogs from home, getting fans vocal on her social media to talk more about her husband.
Freyja immediately got busy fixing up Johannes Faustuz by trimming his hair, powdering his face, and dressing him up in all black for a quick photo shoot to use in her May magazine issue.

Faustuz doesn’t mind getting involved with his wife’s work as long as it doesn’t get invasive and interferes with his own career - which is exactly why he uses his pseudonym “Jonah Fritz Ström” for these occasions.
But Rufus McClaine, a photojournalist, is constantly trying to find out Mr. Ström’s true identity; from investigations he knows that Erik Ström never had a son, and that Freyja only has four male cousins, not five, she could of married - therefore Freyja is really Erik’s biological daughter, and she didn’t marry within the family but someone who’s of lower social class.

Back in the day when I was a wee student, I made pretend magazine covers. You’d think I’d be making tons of them now since I make promo graphics for a living, but nope.
Well, I just randomly felt like making one for Freyja, and I did a lot of looking at fashion magazines. TBH, a lot of fashion magazines have too much text in front that it distracts from the photo. BUT it is a thick stack of paper ads with articles so I understand why there’s a lot of headlines on the cover, but then there’s a table of contents...

Growing up in the 90s to early 2000s, there were lots of gorgeous supermodels and actresses that were all over the magazines and TV. Freyja is kinda a combination of Heidi Klum and Nicole Kidman, but a bit more Klum since Freyja is a model/TV host like her (“FLASH FASHION” is kinda an ode to “PROJECT RUNWAY”).

The magazine name should look familiar if you’ve looked carefully at some of my previous pics (check the last 2 slides and zoom in to find it).
“DER MODISCHE” (“The Fashionable One”) is the name of Freyja’s magazine; “MODERN” was added in to emphasize the English on the cover, though I looked it up and in Swedish “modern” could mean “fashionable” (“mode” is “fashion” in both German and Swedish).

The art style is also softer, more realistic compared to my usual work. I also made sure Freyja has her freckles this time (she’s strawberry-blonde, so she should have them). And she’s only wearing lingerie, so Cedrick’s going to be quite embarrassed seeing his mother in every hospital waiting room and father’s office for the next month.

It’s #internationalnursesday!
Yay for nurses!

My grandma (Dad’s mom) was a nurse, and lots of aunties are/were nurses (I’m half Filipina; it’s a stereotype for Filipinos and other Asians to be nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists but it’s so~ true😅).
Despite having nurses on both sides of the family, I don’t have enough empathy and patience with people to be one (I’ve had people say I look like one, especially now with masks, headbands, and my oversized shirts and Adidas jerseys which resembles scrubs); if I had money for medical school, I’d probably be a geneticist, textbook illustrator, or maybe even a coroner or forensic anthropologist (I actually liked dissecting dead things and looking at bones; it’s sick living people that freak me out the most).

Nurses are often in the shadows of their doctor counterparts, but they’re often the ones doing all the grunt work and checking up on the patients, making them feel better and less afraid; nurses are also mostly female, making them super women.

Kimiko Abe is the Kaspers’ assigned nurse when they’re working in Los Angeles; when they’re back home in Kiel, it’s Hansel - making it a Kasper trifecta.
Kimiko is petite, often tries pulling off work she’s not quite ready for, and gets so scared that she often hides behind Hr. Dr. Kasper, but she’s very compassionate and does everything she can to put smiles on patients’ faces.
Hansel is quick jotting down data and so skilled at drawing blood that patients barely feel a thing; the only thing that gets on Hr. Dr. Kasper’s nerves is when his cousin starts flirting with their patients (Hansel has been married three times, and had numerous failed relationships over the years; the last thing Faustuz would want is both nurses meeting each other because he knows Hansel would be all over Kimiko).

Anyway, we can’t hug our nurses, but we can cheer them on and help out by making masks, gowns, and button headbands for them.

Kimiko expected to be assigned with someone from Japan like she was, but instead got a towering Scandinavian reciting a haiku back to her in perfect Japanese (it’s actually Hr. Dr. Kasper’s second language after German, followed by English, then bits and pieces of Danish; raised by Tante Yoko, he spoke Japanese with his cousins growing up). Kimiko is slowly getting used to her coworkers and new environment in Los Angeles, but still sticks closely around her mentor - which does occasionally annoys Cedrick since he doesn’t like other people around him when he’s with his father.
Johannes Faustuz doesn’t mind Kimiko’s klutziness when it comes to social etiquette, but does get concerned when she has difficulty performing basic tasks and becomes skittish around patients. Faustuz also tends to watch over her like a parent since she’s not much older than his son Cedrick, which explains why he gets upset at his colleague Vincent-Claude DeValeur trying to woo her.

He’s really not happy with the Lockdown haircut his mother Freyja gave him, not that it’s much different from his usual Bowlcut - just much shorter and a little uneven in the back (the Lockdown is practically a botched Bowlcut/Fade/Undercut 😬).
He understands why his father Johannes Faustuz has long hair (no need for constant haircuts), but it’s a pain to maintain (tangles, gets in your eyes, shampooing, etc.).
