A short story featuring Richard Kasper [Death] and Sigrid Jörgensen… #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #moldivvideolab #prequelapp #motionleap #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #couple #vhsaesthetic #1980saesthetic #animeartstyle #originalart #shortstory

Somehow, somewhere, sometime in the 1980s with Richard [Death] and Sigrid (Johannes’ parents). “Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann”/“Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime” by Nena is actually one of my favorite songs from the 1980s - no disrespect to her most well known and loved “99 Luftballons”/“99 Red Balloons”. [I understand enough to know the two versions aren’t the same song translated one language into the other; some songs also sound much better in their native language, so I guess that’s when my Duolingo lessons are paying off…] — As for the characters… it’s just really fun drawing them in their respective decade’s fashion. Richard’s look is a hint residual from the 1970s with the striped t-shirt, gym shorts, and socks, but the 1980s did carry that athletic style well until up to the early 1990s (and short gym shorts for men seem to be back again in the 2020s); he has design influences mostly from Robert Redford, who was a heartthrob of the previous decade of the 1970s - and the actor actually played Death in “The Twilight Zone” (there might be faint hints of David Bowie, as well as Brad Pitt and River Phoenix, but Richard was definitely not a teen in the 1980s - he’s quite ancient). Sigrid’s look was heavily inspired by Brook Shields and Jennifer Connelly’s fashion in the 1980s; her overall appearance was based off of a combination of the two teenage actresses since they were both popular at the time (long dark blonde/brown hair and bright blue eyes). With Sigrid being around Richard/Death all the time, it kinda gives “Labyrinth” vibes, but it’s really the classic trope of “Death and the Maiden” - the entity of decay and the end of life lusting after the ultimate symbol of beauty and the beginning of life. — #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #moldivvideolab #prequelapp #motionleap #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #couple #vhsaesthetic #1980saesthetic

Sigrid practicing magic with Richard✨ Despite relying on Activation Potions to access her Magic Potential, Sigrid’s abilities surpass those of her peers at the Enchantress Academy. She can cast complex spells requiring immense energy, though prolonged use leaves her depleted—especially after a Demonstration Spell at a Debutante Ball. As the incarnation of Death, Richard possesses vast magical knowledge and effortlessly wields intricate spells. Occasionally, he offers guidance, helping Sigrid refine and advance her abilities. #artoninstagram #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #prequelapp #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #animeartstyle #originalart #malecharacter #femalecharacter #couple #magic

Happy Holidays! 🛍️ Merry Christmas!🎄 [now to spend the season alone…] #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #holiday #holidays #christmas #christmastree

Taking a late nighttime stroll after part-time work at the university… In addition to observing Sigrid and occasionally helping out at Aina’s flower shop as a handyman, Richard splits his time hunting rogue monsters, capturing lost souls, and working part-time at a nearby university in Copenhagen as a lab assistant. Leveraging his background as an epidemiologist, this job helps him manage the financial strain left by his former fiancée, Sheila, who left him with substantial debts. Determined to recover his credit independently, Richard has been refused assistance from his family, who cut him off financially after he ended the engagement. With multiple jobs and little interest in marriage despite his father’s insistence, Richard’s appearance has taken a backseat—until he met Sigrid. She wasted no time poking fun at his dated attire, giving him reason to pay more attention to his wardrobe. Meeting Sigrid also came with another adjustment: tolerating cats. As Death incarnate, Richard naturally attracts their attention, and although he dislikes their playful obsession with souls, he finds himself slowly growing attached to Hedy and Odin. Spending time with them, he begins to appreciate their peculiar companionship and finds himself less resistant to their presence. - #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #prequelapp #moldivvideolab #originalcharacter #malecharacter #cat #animeaesthetic #animeartstyle #80saesthetic #vhsaesthetic

Adding onto the string of mistletoe pics drawn around the holiday season every year since 2017. Personally I feel like I’ve gotten sloppy over the years in regards to my work, but I have a job that’s been demanding more of my time (mostly commuting and setting up), I’ve been spending a lot more time with the pesky green owl learning German (ich spreche echt schlecht deutsch, aber ich kann deutsch lesen… kinda… I’d say “Baby Sprache” 🫠), major burnout, and the number of people actually looking at my pics is near nonexistent (I’m actually counting down to 0 on my number of followers 💀). #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #originalcharacters #holiday #mistletoe

As the supermodel host of the hit TV show *FLASH FASHION* and the heiress to one of Sweden’s most prominent occult families, Freyja rarely gets a chance to step out of the spotlight to spend quality time with her husband Johannes, or their son Cedrick. Adding to the intrigue, her husband’s mysterious and elusive nature keeps him out of the public eye, which often leads the media to become overly invasive in their attempts to uncover more about him. - #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #prequel #originalcharacters #animeartstyle #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #artoninstagram

Back to the 1980s at an Enchantress Academy Debutante Ball… At the academy, every 3 to 4 months, the students showcase their most complex spells before an audience of family, friends, faculty, invited guests, and potential suitors, followed by a formal dinner and dance. As a Wicca, Sigrid is often overlooked during these performances, leading her to push herself to master spells so intricate that even the most advanced Enchantresses struggle with them, all while depleting her Magical Potential. Despite her natural beauty, most suitors—especially her childhood crush, Batty Sorensen—avoid her, believing she’s not worth pursuing due to her Life Curse, which is set to take effect before she turns 20. Ironically, boys closer to her younger half-brother Torben’s age often confess their crushes on her. With Death watching over Sigrid during her final years, Richard Kasper (Death in disguise) has started attending more Debutante Balls with her. His presence at these events raises eyebrows, drawing more attention to Sigrid. Many wonder if the two are romantically involved, as it would be highly unusual for Europe’s most notorious Grim Reaper to show interest in a cursed teenage girl unless his intentions went beyond simply taking her soul. #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #moldivvideolab #animeartstyle #originalcharacters #originalcharacter #couple #subtitles #speeddrawing #speedpainting #speedart #artoninstagram #subtitles #blue #1980saesthetic #1980something #vhsaesthetic

I think BJ took over this year’s creepy season… Tim Burton films are probably why I have a love for the Macabre in a cutesy way.💀🖤 [some of my earliest memories are of watching BJ, ESH, BM, and TNBC] #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #prequelapp #originalart #oc #originalcharacters #malecharacter #animeartstyle #animeaesthetic #vhsaesthetic #artoninstagram #man #boy #grimreaper #souls

Speed art of Death / Der Sensenmann (Richard Kasper, Johannes’ father). [approx. 1h 25m total time] The original concept for Death was inspired by The Grim Reaper from the Swedish film “SEVENTH SEAL” and was meant to be Freyja’s father, Erik, since he’s Swedish. However, considering Erik’s animosity towards his son-in-law Johannes and realizing that version of Death would be too literal (a hunched man cloaked in black), I drew inspiration from one of my all-time favorite “TWILIGHT ZONE” episodes, “Nothing in the Dark.” In this episode, Death disguises himself as a handsome policeman injured by gunfire and convinces an old woman to let him into her home to recover. This episode inspired three OCs: Robert Redford’s portrayal of Death influenced Richard’s final look, the police officer idea led to the creation of Batty Sorensen, and the old woman inspired Sigrid’s mother, Aina.[Sigrid’s character design was inspired by a combination of Sarah from “LABYRINTH” and actress Brooke Shields, who was popular in the 1980s - the time period when she and Richard met] #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #speeddrawing #speedpaint #speedart #originalcharacter #originalart #oc #malecharacter #man #grimreaper #death #scythe #artoninstagram #animestyle

Seeking privacy away from prying eyes, Sigrid and Richard occasionally rendezvoused in the seclusion of the greenhouse. Despite the verdant concealment it provided, one individual they couldn’t evade amid the lush foliage was Sigrid’s mother, Aina. Ever hopeful and enthusiastic, Aina consistently attempted to catch the couple in intimate moments, nurturing dreams of them eventually marrying and starting a family. - #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #moldivvideolab #prequelapp #artoninstagram #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #femalecharacter #malecharacter #couple #man #girl #woman #plants #green

Green with the Kasper Brothers 🟢 Green is the color I use most often for the Kaspers because of its association with many things villainous, magical, and deadly (aside from positivity, earthly, and lively- in regard to nature). The Kasper Family has a close affinity with Death, having hot tempers, twisted sense of humors, and being involved with heinous acts in the past - giving them a notorious reputation within the Occult Community as “Evil” and “Monstrous”. Despite their dark history and reputation, positive traits of the Kasper Family are their quality of work, efficiency in completing tasks, and their expression of love and commitment to their family members - especially towards their significant others (i.e. Heinrich gives Yoko a kiss on the forehead every morning waking up; Richard always left small boxed gifts for Sigrid after they spent the night together). The layout and art style are also a bit similar to those on retro clothing pattern packs. The stripes on Richard’s polo shirt was very tedious, but overall it was a simple pic to color. — #digitalart #digitaldrawing #ipaddrawing #ipadart #artoninstagram #colorscheme #autodesksketchbook #sketchbookautodesk #prequelapp #originalart #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #ocs #malecharacter #man #men #brothers #green #white #blond #clothes #typography

BONUS: Tyrone Williams - ATTACK ON TITAN Tyrone Williams, known as Johannes' "Work Spouse" according to Freyja, is a pediatrician at the hospital where they both work. He's often forgetful, relying on Johannes to remind him of upcoming appointments and cover for him when he misses them. Tyrone is also Tricia's uncle, having taken her in after her mother's tragic death from a drug overdose when she was a young teenager. He's a dedicated father to his lively toddler daughter, Queenie, and a loving husband to his wife, Asia. Despite having family members with mystical abilities, Tyrone remains completely oblivious to the mystical and occult world. Tyrone enjoys spending time with his coworkers, sharing gossip, discussing current events, and bonding over their shared interests. He's a food and American football enthusiast, frequently hosting home parties. Tyrone often finds his way into Johannes' office to indulge in homemade Apfelkuchen and a cup of matcha tea. He occasionally joins Johannes at the local sports bar, with Johannes reluctantly picking up the tab to avoid domestic complications with Asia, who prefers vegan meals and is already somewhat jealous of Tyrone's close friendship with Johannes. Although Tyrone can be klutzy, clingy, and boastful at times, he's a reliable and caring friend who goes the extra mile to uplift others, especially Johannes, whom he seeks to spend more time with as a close friend. #digitalart #digitaldrawing #art #drawing #ipadart #ipaddrawing #animestyle #mangastyle #animeart #mangaart #attackontitan #aot #hajimeisayama #sketchbookautodesk #autodesksketchbook #prequelapp #artontiktok #artistontiktok #artwork #originalart #originalcharacter #originalcharacters #characterart #malecharacter #man #doctor #blackanime #blackanimecharacters #blackanimecharacter #beer
