• Circa 1981: Sigrid and Richard are finally engaged.
The following month they were married, and at the end of the year had their son - followed with Sigrid’s death as a consequence of her life curse.
Richard dies in 1984, leaving behind a toddler Johannes Faustuz in his brother’s care.
…
Sigrid was forced to leave school as soon as her classmates reported seeing her playing games with Richard at the local arcade (students are not allowed to date; once found out, it’s expulsion from the all-girls academy).
Because of her top grades, the principal gave her a chance to return if she broke off her relationship with Richard, but with only a year left before her life curse is due, Sigrid declined the offer - she rather be with her boyfriend and mother instead.
After receiving a phone call from Aina, Richard immediately left work at Kiel to be with Sigrid; he stayed at the flower shop for a month to protect both Sigrid and her mother from harassment and criticism - especially from their neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen.
Richard brought her over to Kiel for a weekend to meet with other members of the Kasper Family, including his father “The Black Skull”; after returning to Copenhagen, he finally proposed to Sigrid with the engagement ring he made during his last trip to his grandparents’ home in Johannesburg - a simple gold ring with a raw pink diamond in the center (pink was Sigrid’s favorite color).
Sigrid immediately replied “Yes!”, Aina watching the two kiss to celebrate the last chapter of their life together.

I’m on a roll with these OC fashion pics, lol.
I’m a bit partial to this pic out of the three I’ve drawn so far because it has my favorite combination of colors (teal-blues, orange-reds, and bright greens) with white - and I actually have a neon green beanie myself.
Cedrick Kasper is also my first official OC, so there’s that too...

Brief character notes about Hr. Dr. Kasper compared to his parents Richard and Sigrid.
-
Both parents died when he was very young, so he prefers not to talk about them for lots of reasons.
He does remember his father Richard singing him to sleep as a toddler, but nothing else.
Which parent does he resembles the most?
People say he’s spitting image of his father Richard, but his grandmother Aina says he takes after his mother Sigrid.

Johannes Faustuz wearing Richard’s fur coat as a cape on top of the expensive clothes Freyja dressed him up with (reference for shirt in last slide).
-
Like his mother Sigrid, Faustuz never really liked his father’s coat - it’s ridiculously heavy, fluffy, and oversized (Sigrid did admit that she loved how warm it was whenever Richard held her during walks in the winter).
It’s one of the many things he inherited from his father - aside from daily journals, tape recordings, photos, vinyl albums, t-shirts, watches, and his 1981 red Volkswagen Beetle.
But in rare occasions, he will wear the coat to “put it to use”; Richard wore it to show off whenever he could, while his son wears it to cover up the elaborate stuff Freyja makes him wear in formal events.

Wunderkind’s Notes:
Cherry Blossoms/Sakura 🌸
-
It’s that time of the year when these mainly pink, white, and red flowers are in full bloom worldwide - especially in Japan.
Hanami is also a great activity during the pandemic considering it’s outside, and if there’s enough trees for everyone, people can enjoy the view while social distancing.
-
The Kaspers have a weeping cherry blossom tree planted in their backyard, which is considered to be the oldest cultivated style of the cherry blossom tree in Japan.
All of the mythical creatures are drawn to it whenever it’s in bloom, especially the fairies and Junko the Hyōsube.

Page 3: “I do have a tree, but...”
-
Hr. Dr. Kasper usually doesn’t invite people over to his house for LOTS of reasons (his wife Freyja is a famous TV host, his father-in-law Erik Ström still stuck due to travel bans, there’s lots of little mythical creatures living there, his dogs go crazy with visitors, etc.).
But he’s feeling a little pity for Kimiko’s homesickness for Japan, and since he has a small cherry blossom tree in his backyard, he’s cautiously allowing her to visit.
Just hope the critters behave themselves, and hope Kimiko doesn’t get too nosy about his background...
Faustuz doesn’t like having to explain things like why there’s a colony of fairies living in the garden, or how his parents met and died.

This will be a short story regarding “Hanami” - or “Flower-Watching” in Japanese regarding the Sakura blossoms in bloom around this time of the year.

Johannes Faustuz and Hansel wearing Jinbei for Hanami in Hiroshima.
(when they were boys, they wore matching ones; nowadays they try to wear opposite colors)

Prior to 2020’s Pandemic, all of the Kaspers go to Hiroshima where Tante Yoko is from to see the Sakura blossoms every year.

Another quick drawing of these two...
Thought about adding flowers, but I’m too lazy and tired to do so - maybe another time.😴
(but then it’ll give off Hades/Persephone vibes...)
I also included the stages of drawing this pic (proof that my process isn’t always very clean).

Wunderkind’s Notes on the #leprechaun.
Most Leprechauns are harmless pranksters, often traveling far around the world to cause trouble, but occasionally there’s one so bad that he gets the attention of the Kaspers (Hr. Dr. Kasper with Freyja’s four cousins had to kill one up in Stockholm at the Ström estate after he smeared Unicorn poop on the walls, shattered windows, and broke sacred family rune stones).
They bury their gold in Unicorn poop, which adds a little stink to the saying “A pot of gold can be found at the end of a rainbow.”🌈

Another bonus Sigrid’s Diary Entry: Odin’s death.
-
Richard normally hated cats, but after dealing with Sigrid’s neighbor’s cat Hedy and her stray cat boyfriend nicknamed Odin, he gradually got attached to them (cats have seven to nine lives and chase souls away, making it difficult for Grim Reapers to do their jobs).
Odin and Hedy had three litters of kittens (10 babies altogether), their last litter born a few weeks after Odin’s death - which was a surprise when Hedy went missing for a long time (leading to the neighbor Mr. Vannderhassen accusing Sigrid’s mother Aina of killing his cat for witchcraft rituals; Hedy went into hiding deep in the greenhouse to give birth).
Hedy is no longer alive, but one of her descendants (a male black cat with heterochromia) is currently owned by Aina and is named Lamar.

Another random #sketchdump - this time in the modern era with Richard and Sigrid’s son Johannes Faustuz with wife Freyja Ström, son Cedrick, and cat Klimt.

Not exactly the monster Papa Kasper was prepared to fight, lol.😹
With toilet paper being such a sacred item, even the cute fluffy family cat is a monster to contest with.🧻

Another pic done with black, (sorta) white, and red.

June-July 1980: Sigrid’s first trip to Kiel to see the sailboats.
⛵️
Kiel is where the Kaspers are from; last time I read, it’s also the site of Germany’s second largest festival after Munich’s Oktoberfest (both festivals are on my bucket list for different reasons - one is obviously for the food and beer, but the other is out of curiosity after seeing amazing photos of all those colorful sailboats crammed into a canal for a week).

Random sketch dump with Richard, Sigrid, and the stray neighborhood tomcat nicknamed Odin after “Odin’s Eye”, the Kaspers’ heterochromia ability to see spirits and monsters.
-
Odin is a white tomcat with odd-eyes who’d constantly meow and yowl late at night to attract the ladies.
Lately he hasn’t been roaming around as much due to his age, and has been staying over at Aina’s backyard where Hedy enjoys sleeping in the greenhouse; the two cats had been inseparable until Odin’s death a year later, resulting in three litters of kittens.
Like Hedy, Odin was very affectionate - especially towards Sigrid.
Richard doesn’t like cats (Grim Reapers hate cats for their 9 lives and chasing away dead souls that need capturing), but has a soft spot for Odin due to their many similarities and the fact Odin’s on his last life out of nine.

“I love ...”
Oh my...
Who’d knew Hr. Dr. Kasper had such a potty mouth? 🤣
(sorry - I don’t speak German, but as an English-speaker, sometimes I hear things in other languages that makes me go “WHUT?!”)
-
I also included a masked version in the 2nd slide (because we’re still all in a pandemic), the original “Dapper Dads” pic, and a heart cookie (Lebkuchenherz) in the end.
